Although the 80-page giants generally have been pretty good, especially the wave of books we had celebrating various character anniversaries, DC of late have struggled a little with the anthology books. I should say it’s not just DC, but as once upon a time they were the masters of the format it is most noticeable with them. The mix of creative teams isn’t the issue either. A blend of known names and up-and-comers was always the way DC’s mystery books operated, and it served them very well. What drew me to this book the most was Paul Levitz writing Phantom Stranger (that alone is worth the entrance price), and Tom Mandrake and Kelley Jones illustrating two tales. Let’s hope the other stories can add some scary fun as well.
The know the score with these books,...

If you or I got arrested outside a trendy Manhattan nightclub for allegedly throwing a punch, it would be fair to assume we wouldn't be welcomed back. That is not the case with Lindsay Lohan.
Lohan, a regular at the Chelsea hotspot Avenue, was banned from the club earlier this year following an incident in which she tweeted that Justin Timberlake was seeing another woman that wasn't his wife, Jessica Biel. But after Lohan was arrested for hitting a fellow patron there early Thursday morning, the club's staff has not issued a similar statement.
"It goes to show that talking publicly about a celebrity behavior inside the club is far more important than a actual behavior," one nightlife fixture told The Huffington Post, asking that we didn't share her name for fear of being banned. "The message is, you can punch someone, but if you talk about it, you will get barred.

Everything was going smoothly at W.i.P nightclub in SoHo on Wednesday night until around 4 a.m., when a brawl between Chris Brown and Drake broke out, sending patrons to the hospital and resulting in police being called.
Now both parties are blaming each other for what happened in the club, but industry insiders are saying it’s the club that is to blame.
Both Chris Brown and Drake have had romantic ties to Rihanna.
"The Drake-Chris Brown brawl is an unfortunate incident which shouldn't result in any lifetime bans for either celebrity," Ronn Torossian, CEO of public relations firm 5Wpr and author of "For Immediate Release," told me. "No one should overreact.”
“Anytime there is alcohol and nightlife, whether it’s $2,000 bottles or a dive bar, there is bound to be occasional fisticuffs and random stupidity," Torossian said. "The nightclub in question recently changed ownership and one wonders...

If you think you know "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice, think again. After surviving another week on "Celebrity Apprentice," despite fighting with pop singer Debbie Gibson, Teresa is happy that we are all getting to see a different and more accurate side of who she really is.
"Everyone will see me in a different light as a businesswoman and, of course, it's for charity," Teresa told me on the set of "New York Live."
On "Celebrity Apprentice," Teresa is fighting to find a cure for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a rare kidney disease that she was introduced to after meeting Matthew Levine, a young boy who she says has a cholesterol level of 365 and takes 15 pills a day.
"The show has a lot of surprises," Teresa tells me. "The girls are very catty, but this was different from 'Housewives.' We were asked to do tasks and we...

'If people are going mainly for Britney, they will be excited to see Nicki as well and vice versa,' one insider tells MTV News.

After lots of rumors, it was officially announced Tuesday (April 12) that Britney Spears would be bringing along Nicki Minaj (as well as up-and-comers Nervo and Jessie and the Toyboys) on her Femme Fatale tour, kicking off this summer.
The Spears/Minaj matchup may not initially make sense, given their very different styles, but according to industry insiders who work on booking talent for venues throughout the country, this really is a match made in heaven.
"Bringing [together] two genres of music — one icon and one rising icon — is great for the music business. The combination of Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj on tour together is great for the music industry [and] shows its growing diversity," Matt Levine of Brandsway Creative,...

Nacho Figueras and his wife, Delfina Blaquier, in Sagaponack on July 2. From PatrickMcMullan.com.• While most Americans were enduring family-bonding sessions in more wholesome seaside locales over the weekend, a host of demi-celebrities were chipping away at their name-recognition deficits on the Hamptons club scene. At Axe Lounge, in Southampton, Matthew Settle (known to tweens and Nymag.com readers alike as Rufus from Gossip Girl) was doing whatever it is one does when one is the best-known person at a nightclub, and Nick Cannon (known to Mariah Carey completists as "D.J. Sex Fingers ") took control of the proverbial ones and twos at Matt Levine's Bamboo Lounge, in East Hampton. [Amy Grindhouse] • Elsewhere on Independence Day, hairstylist Joel Warren, of Warren-Tricomi Salons, kicked off his party in Water Mill with a polo match led by Ralph Lauren poster boy Nacho Figueras. Later, Sarah Mather, whom we all remember (if somewhat dimly...

The Daily Mail has revealed the first photos of Justin Timberlake in David Fincher’s The Social Network, co-starring Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield.
Timberlake is playing internet entrepreneur Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster, who began informally advising Mark Zuckerberg (played in the film by Jesse Eisenberg), the co-creator of Facebook and later became its president when the company incorporated in 2004.
Based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, The Social Network tells the story of the creation of Facebook. Our script reviewer Matt Levine recently did a review on screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s screenplay for the movie, which you can read here.
The picture itself is blah and Timberlake doesn’t have anything about him that screams awesome, still I guess its newsworthy because Timberlake is such an unusual casting for the film.
