Apple Original Films has debuted the trailer for the Lily Gladstone-led ‘Fancy Dance’.
Since her sister’s disappearance, Jax (Lily Gladstone) has cared for her niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) by scraping by within their Tribal Land. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. At the risk of Jax losing custody to Roki’s grandfather, Frank (Shea Whigham), the pair hit the road and scour the backcountry to track down Roki’s mother in time for the powwow.
What begins as a search gradually turns into a far deeper investigation into the complexities and contradictions of Indigenous women moving through a colonized world while at the mercy of a failed justice system.
Directed by Erica Tremblay, the cast includes Lily Gladstone, Isabel Deroy-Olson, Ryan Begay, Crystle Lightning with Audrey Wasilewski and Shea Whigham.

"Everybody's out looking for me, who's looking for my sister?" Apple TV has finally unveiled the official trailer for a film titled Fancy Dance, which has been stuck in release limbo for the last year or more. This originally premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, a full six months before Lily Gladstone's Killers of the Flower Moon premiered in Cannes. Many critics say her performance in Fancy Dance is even better, but it hasn't ever been released since 2023. Now it's finally set for a theatrical + streaming debut this summer. The bond between an Indigenous girl and her aunt proves stronger than ever when their loved one goes missing. Following her sister's disappearance, a Native American hustler kidnaps her niece from the child's white grandparents and sets out for the state powwow in hopes of keeping what is left of their family intact. For over a year, director Erica Tremblay’s acclaimed Sundance drama “Fancy Dance” went undistributed without a means to see it. Its star Lily Gladstone, Oscar-nominated for another Native American-led film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” has taken time from her awards campaign to champion the film and urge anyone in Hollywood to support it and give it a home.
Today, that effort has finally paid off. Apple Original Films has acquired the global rights to “Fancy Dance” and will release it both in theaters and on Apple TV+ later this year. A release date was not specified, and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Alfred Molina is starring in the upcoming Prime Video series "Three Pines." It's an adaptation of the beloved and best-selling mystery novel series by Louise Penny, focused on Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. There are eight episodes in the season, though the novel series is 17 books long. That's a lot of story to mine from. It's set in Canada, and the production was filmed in both Montreal and rural Quebec.
This is the first Canada-based production for Left Bank, which is the production company behind the Netflix series "The Crown," about the royal family of the United Kingdom. Production began on the Canadian Amazon Original drama series in September 2021. If you haven't heard of Armande Gamache, it's time to start reading, and watching when the series premieres. The Washington Post named Gamache the most beloved fictional detective in a 2021 reader survey. That puts him ahead of both Hercule Poirot from Agatha...

The Spider-Man star is to play Chief Inspector Armand Gamache in the Canadian original, which was first revealed by Deadline in May 2020.
The eight-part series has begun production in Montreal and rural Quebec. It will film through to December and launch on Amazon in a number of territories including Canada, the U.S. and UK.
Based on Louise Penny’s book series, Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec is a man who sees things that others do not: the light between the cracks, the mythic in the mundane, and the evil in the seemingly ordinary. As he investigates a spate of murders in Three Pines, a seemingly idyllic village, he discovers long-buried secrets and faces a few of his own ghosts.

With the Covid-19 pandemic having wreaked havoc on production, the CW’s “fall” season is being winterized. The strangest TV season in memory will continue in January and February with the network setting premiere dates for 11 returning series and three new ones: Walker, Superman & Lois and Canadian pickup Trickster.
The CW in May announced that its regular 2020-21 schedule will roll out in January and unveiled a fall 2020 lineup consisting of acquisitions and the final episodes of Supernatural.
The series are launching when they are ready based on staggered production start dates and length of post-production — especially the multiple superhero shows that require elaborate special effects.

So we've all heard by know that Megan Fox's dream role is to be a Native lesbian superhero. She said that she would love to be Sarah Rainmaker of 'Gen 13'. This Apache character from the comic series is able to manipulate weather and the movement of water with her thoughts, as well as being good at combat. Rainmaker is also a peace-seeking activist.
“She’s a Native American and I have a little bit of that blood in me,” she said. “It would be a bit of a stretch – but if Jake Gyllenhaal can be the Prince of Persia, I think that I can do that.”
How about we not repeat a history of Hollywood casting white people into ethnic roles (anybody remember Micky Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi?). I'm not saying no one can play an ethnicity outside of their own, but casting obviously Caucasian people as playing...

Fox Television Studio's new digital arm 15 Gigs released the trailer (above) to its steamy looking stripclub dramedy Tease today, giving us just a little hint of what they are up to with the stealthy new web television division. The original series comes from creators Micah Goldman, Michael Wormser and Peter Marc Jacobson (who created CBS's The Nanny). In what seems to be a more realistic take on the new-girl-turns-dancer story than say Atom's Hot Sluts, this series shows all that juicy dressing room chatter that we never quite get to hear. Marie (Days of Our Lives' Lisa Jay) is the new to the game but is a fast study from the pros, played by Devin Kelley, Sarah Scherger, Samantha Cope and Crystle Lightning. Lynch, who survived the attack, was taken unconscious to a hospital in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, from where she was rescued April 1. Canadian actress Laura Regan was tapped to play Lynch, with Nicholas Guilak set to play Mohammed Odeh Al-Rehaief, the Iraqi lawyer who alerted U.S. military officials to Lynch's whereabouts (HR 8/14). Also previously cast in the movie are Crystle Lightning and Nina Kaze. King, seen in this summer's actioner S.W.A.T., also was featured in the indie A Little Inside. He is repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and manager Laina Cohn at Acronym Entertainment.
