Exclusive: Fox Entertainment is adding Ocean Village to its animation development slate. The network has given a script commitment to the project, from creator Daniel Cardenas Katz (Deep Space 69), and has ordered a backup script plus animatic supervising, Ocean Village follows the Diaz family as they navigate life in a sun-baked tropical village based on the Florida island where series creator Katz grew up, and experienced his first iguana attack. The Diazes are part-immigrant, blended, multi-cultural, and trying to get by in what would be paradise if it wasn’t for the raccoon gangs, beach bums, crusty retirees and mosquitos the size of cats.

Netflix has ordered eight episodes of The Healing Powers of Dude, a family live action single camera comedy series from Erica Spates and Sam Littenberg-Weisberg. Richie Keen directs four episodes and executive produces.
Co-created by Spates and Littenberg-Weisberg based on personal experience with social anxiety disorder, The Healing Powers of Dude centers on Noah, an 11-year-old boy with social anxiety disorder. When Noah has to start middle school, he turns to a mutt named Dude, a sarcastic emotional support dog who might need Noah as much as Noah needs him.
The series stars Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do!), Larisa Oleynik, Laurel Emory (Heartstrings), Mauricio Lara, Sophie Jaewon Kim, Dude the Dog, and newcomer Jace Chapman.

YouTube has released the first trailer for its forthcoming celeb-laden reality challenge format The Sidemen Show, which will go live on its premium service on June 18.
As revealed by Deadline last month, the show, which is produced by Blue Ant Digital Studios in association with Antenna Pictures, features stars such as Dancing with the Stars winner Nicole Scherzinger, The Island’s Bear Grylls and British comedian Jack Whitehall.
Shot around the world, the show is a stunt, challenge format. Each episode will see the Sidemen, a group of young YouTubers that pal around playing computer games and winding each other up, challenged to perform a different task alongside a celebrity guest. I hear episodes were filmed in locations including the UK, Marrakech, Russia and Austria.
The Sidemen Show is executive produced by Dan Lubetkin, Jago Lee, Austin Long and James Tooley. Craig Pickles serves as Series Director. Chris Lore is Series Producer.

On the heels of unveiling an expansive slate of video game adaptations, drama, comedy, reality, animation and event series, I’ve learned that xBox Studios has put another project in development, scripted comedy East Of Exurbia. Written by Nick Kreiss and Ian Wolterstorff, the project revolves around three guys who try to build a bastion of bro-fueled debauchery in a house that happens to be situated on top of a magical portal to other worlds. The show, inspired by “one of the worst roommate stories ever told,” which originally appeared on BroBible.com, comes from Five All in the Fifth Entertainment and Avalon, with Five All’s Doug Banker and Avalon’s David Martin and Dan Lubetkin executive producing. Kreiss, Wolterstorff and Banker are repped by CAA and Underground, Avalon is repped by Gersh.
