It seems that every week, there is a new Adele-related accolade to tout. And this week is no different, as her 21 album hits its 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (95,000; down 9%). 21 has been No. 1 longer than any other album since since The Bodyguard soundtrack wrapped a 20-week run at No. 1 on the May 29, 1993, chart. Could 21 hold on another week at the top? Lady Antebellum take the top spot on Billboard Hot 200 with their second studio album "Need You Now", forcing last week's champ "Hope for Haiti" compilation to slip one place to No. 2. The trio's January 26 release has sold more than 481,000 copies, passing the expectation of selling around 425,000.
Led by Grammy-winning single "I Run to You", the album becomes the band's first chart-topper on the U.S. albums chart. In 2008, Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott could only bow at No. 4 with a self-titled effort "Lady Antebellum" which scanned 43,000 copies in its first week on sale.
Other new entries at the Hot 200 are Barry Manilow's compilation "The Greatest Love Songs of All Time" which debuts at No. 5 with 57,000, Corinne Bailey Rae's "The Sea" which opens at No. 7 with 53,000, and Celtic Woman's "Songs From the Heart" which arrives at No. 9 with 42,000 units.

The annual White House Tree Lighting is Thursday, Dec. 3 and "American Idol" season 6 winner Jordin Sparks will be on hand to sing.
Jordin is just one of several artists invited to the ceremony, which is traditionally when the President brings a message of peace to the nation before the giant White House Christmas tree is lit.
The tree itself is a Colorado blue spruce planted in 1978. It was 30 ft tall when planted and today is 46 years old and stands almost 42 ft tall. Just a little botanical info for you guys. We're a full-service blog here at Zap2it.
Besides Ms. Sparks, other performers joining in the festivities are Sheryl Crow, Common, Ray Lamontagne, Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau and Celtic Woman.
The ceremony will be streamed live on The National Tree official website starting at 5 pm/2 pm Et/Pt Dec. 3.
Hopefully we don't see any "Real Housewives" storming the stage. Though...

My local PBS station insists on broadcasting an abomination called the Celtic Woman Christmas Special about four times per day. This is the same special where the well-known Christmas carol "Danny Boy" is sung sweetly and mawkishly, just as it is in every faux Irish pub in County Franklin, Ohio. All of this is apparently intended to prime the pump for viewer donations, since the Erin-by-way-of-Vegas extravaganza is interrupted every ten minutes or so by earnest pleas for money. I am almost, but not quite, ready to send them money so that they won't show the wee lasses with the Big Broadway voices and the muscular bodhran player in the sleeveless shirt ever again.
