Lionsgate+, formerly known as Starzplay, has set March 3 as the premiere date of its darkly comic original series ‘Nacho’ across all Latin America.
The news comes as Atresplayer Premium in Spain has announced that “Nacho” will bow on its service on March 5 as an Atresplayer Premium Original, in other words an exclusive in Spain on the adventurous service whose recent Originals include “Cardo,” produced by Los Javis.
Bowing its international trailer exclusively on Variety, the eight-episode series stars Martiño Rivas (“Cable Girls”) who plays the legendary Nacho Vidal whose notable physique makes him a star in Spain’s incipient porn industry in the ‘90s.

Barcelona-based Filmax has acquired international sales rights to Costa del Sol-set action thriller “Hombre muerto no sabe vivir” (“A Dead Man Cannot Live”), the feature debut by producer Ezekiel Montes.
The Spanish mini-major has also taken local distribution rights to the film, which is scheduled for a summer theatrical release.
Produced by Montes at his Málaga-based outfit 73140323 PC, “A Dead Man Cannot Live” is currently in post-production.
The story is set at one of Southern Spain’s most popular tourist hotspots, the Costa del Sol, known for its warm climate and white sand beaches, but also as a point of confluence or international drug trafficking.
“A Dead Man” revolves around Tano, who has worked his whole life for Manuel, a construction business man with strong local government connections which help him control drug-trafficking in the city.

Joe Cole and Phil Davis are starring in crime film Peterman, while shooting is about to finish on The Pilgrim: The Best Story of Paulo Coelho.
Shooting has just commenced in Dunstable on Mark Abraham’s Peterman, which follows the story of a young junkie (Joe Cole) who is kidnapped by a criminal gang and forced to crack open a safe using skills taught to him by the gang’s former ‘Peterman’ (safe cracker), his deceased grandfather (Phil Davis). Alison Steadman, Peter Bowles, Brian McCardie, Kenny Doughty, Stuart Graham and Adam Nagaitis also feature.
The crime film is based on the screenplay by Andy Bloom and is produced by Control Films and Talent Films with Darren Pratt and Tim Phillips acting as producer and Tony Humphreys executive producing.
