It's 40 years since Multi-Coloured Swap Shop made its television debut and kick-started the Saturday morning kids' TV slot...
Imagine the excitement - it's just before 9.30am on Saturday 2nd October 1976. It's almost like Christmas has come early, such is the anticipation. The nation's kids, who hitherto got their kicks at the Saturday morning pictures, settle in front of their television screens and press the button marked 'BBC1'. Those who read their parents' Radio Times know a new show is about to start with Radio 1 Breakfast Show DJ Noel Edmonds at the helm. 28 year old Noel is cool and down with the kids. Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen - the Doctor and Sarah Jane from Doctor Who - are to be the first star guests, and you can actually speak to them live by telephone! Jenny Powell wants to bring back 'Wheel of Fortune' with Bradley Walsh. The 47-year-old TV presenter has admitted she would love to do a one-off special of the '90s game-show she fronted with the 54-year-old 'The Chase' host, after hearing that people watching repeats of it on Challenge TV are ''enjoying it so much''. Speaking exclusively to Bang Showbiz, Jenny said: ''It's great to see (Bradley) doing so well, and also it's great to see the repeats of 'Wheel of Fortune'. I think there might be a comeback, because Twitter's gone mad with it! ''It's quite comforting to see people enjoying so much,...

Fancy watching some poor punter getting a back, sack and crack from Rustie Lee? Want a waxing from Helen Flanagan? Is Arg from Towie delivering pedicures what you've been waiting for all these years? Well, wait no more people. Celebrity Super Spa has arrived.
I've already had the joy of watching episode one of Super Spa. I've seen the awkward and cringeworthy hosts. I've seen Helen Flanagan prancing around without any trousers on. I've seen Rustie Lee cackling. 867 times.
And I'll probably watch it all over again tonight (September 13) when it airs on Channel 5. Firstly, because I'm a glutton for terrible television. Secondly, because I'm fairly convinced it may be the most desperate celebrity reality show ever concieved. Even by Channel 5's late night standards, this is awful. It makes The Bachelor look like The Sopranos.
So where does the show fit in the history of degrading and embarrassing celebrity reality shows?...

Christine Hamilton and Colin Jackson won the second Celebrity MasterChef heat last night. The duo knocked out Tricia Penrose, Martin Roberts and Jenny Powell in the cookery competition and join Neil Stuke and Alex Fletcher in tonight's quarter-final. Hamilton impressed in the final challenge with her mixed fish ragu with rice, samphire and basil, followed by an apple, ginger and Amaretti tart. Judge Gregg Wallace commented on her dessert: "It is very good. Sugar, apple and cinnamon are the closest to a cuddle you will ever get on a plate of food." Jackson was successful with his final dishes of chicken in a spicy coconut sauce with rice and spinach, followed by fried banana in a coconut (more)...

We continue our look back at the work of Joel Schumacher, with his Batman & Robin follow-up, 8Mm...
"He's a producer-slash-director-slash weirdo. He's like the Jim Jarmusch of S&M." - Max
The Recap
After the horror that was Batman & Robin, you couldn't blame Joel Schumacher from stepping away from that genre of filmmaking completely and going down a road of drama/thriller. After all, he had success with it in the past. Nothing could go too wrong, right?
Following the death of her husband, wealthy widow Mrs. Christian (Myra Carter) comes across an 8mm film in his safe, depicting the murder of a teenage girl by a man in amask. Unsure as to the origin of the tape or if it is, in fact, real, she instructs her lawyer, Daniel Longdale (Anthony Heald), to hire the services of private investigator, Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage), to find out the truth.
