Spoiler Alert: The following interview contains spoilers from “Comeuppance,” the Season 3 finale of “Mayor of Kingstown,” now streaming on Paramount+.
Wrapping up its season quietly in a tidy fashion is just not the “Mayor of Kingstown” way, which it proved once more on Sunday with the conclusion of its gripping third season. As is par for the course with the dark world of the fictional Michigan city, there was a lot of bloodshed and death as well as characters questioning their respective futures. Not too shabby for a show that found itself in a very real, fragile position last year when star Jeremy Renner, who plays beleaguered Mike McLusky, was injured in a snowplow accident that left him with blunt chest trauma and 38 broken bones.
But, like the heroes he’s known for playing in much of his career, Renner was determined to recover and get back to his “Mayor of Kingstown” character,...

In January 2023, Deadline reported that Snowpiercer‘s completed fourth and final season would not run on TNT as part of content tax write-offs by the network’s parent Warner Bros. Almost a year and a half later, Season 4 of Snowpiercer landed at AMC and will debut this Sunday, July 21, with a Comic-Com panel to follow five days later.
In an interview with Deadline last week, Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, which he launched in June 2014 as a joint venture with ITV Studios, and the company’s President Becky Clements discussed finding a new U.S. home for the post-apocalyptic drama starring Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly, which has been sold internationally by ITV Studios, and franchise expansion plans.

The fourth and final season of the series debuts July 21, with Daveed Diggs wrapping up his role as post-apocalyptic political dissident Andre Layton. The show is based on the graphic novel series by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, which was later adapted into a film starring Chris Evans and directed by Bong Joon Ho.
The “Snowpiercer” series was canceled after running for three seasons on TNT, but AMC salvaged it for its fourth and final season.
Per the official synopsis, the show is set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland. “Snowpiercer” centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Plot: In season three, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky (Renner) to end the war but things get complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatens to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.
Review: Twelve months after his near-fatal accident, Jeremy Renner began production on the third season of Mayor of Kingstown. Seeing the Avengers star back on his feet and in character as Mike McLusky is an impressive sight as he slips back into his character’s rumpled suit and takes charge of the various factions, criminal and non, in the Michigan city. Jeremy Renner is back in business as Mike McLusky, returning as the "mayor" of the prison town known as Kingstown.
After his terrible accident, there were fears that he'd ever fill Mike's shoes again. Those fears were unfounded.
The explosive trailer for the upcoming third season proves he's nimble on his feet but even more potent with his words.
Mayor of Kingstown is a high-adrenaline series about a small town in the business of America’s prison system.
Kingstown is pushed to its limits again and again as rampant crime inside prison walls, and outside has a stranglehold on its population.
Things reached a boiling point in the first season, as a horrifying riot put many at risk.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 saw tensions rise even further as everyone weathered the impact of the riot and how to survive in its aftermath.

Jeremy Renner looks like he hasn’t lost a step in the first full official trailer for the long-awaited third season of Mayor of Kingstown.
Below, Renner is back in business as a Michigan crime boss in the Paramount+ series, which is from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
The season marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner returned to set one year after he was critically injured after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. He had broken 38 bones and his rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs.
But you wouldn’t know it from the new footage.

Snowpiercer season 4 went into production in early 2022, and by the middle of that year, TNT had confirmed that season 4 would also be the last season of the show. That was soon after TNT owner WarnerMedia merged with Discovery Inc to form Warner Bros. Discovery… and things have been pretty wild since that merger happened, with films being scrapped as tax write-offs, content purges, and streaming service shake-ups. One of their surprising “write down strategy” moves came in January of 2023, when Warner Bros. Discovery decided they wouldn’t even bother to air Snowpiercer season 4 on TNT. The show has been searching for a new home ever since. Today, Deadline reports that it has found one: AMC.
Deadline lets us know, “The first three seasons of the show will stream on AMC+ later this year and season 4 will air on the linear network and the streaming service in early 2025.” Snowpiercer is a Tomorrow Studios production.

Snowpiercer’s final season will see the light of day after all.
AMC has picked up rights to all four seasons of the post-apocalyptic drama — including the completed but never aired fourth season. The series first aired on TNT, but the Warner Bros. Discovery network canceled the show in January 2023 as it and sister channels TBS and TruTV left the scripted business.
The first two seasons of Snowpiercer will begin streaming on AMC+ on June 1, with season three following a week later. The final season will debut July 21 on both AMC and AMC+ — a change from the network’s earlier plans to air the final season in early 2025.
“Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+,” said Ben Davis, executive vp original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios.

The final season of Snowpiercer has finally found a home.
The fourth season of the sci-fi drama will air on AMC after the company acquired the rights to the Tomorrow Studios-produced series. It comes after TNT scrapped the show last year as part of a wider Warner Bros. Discovery content write down strategy.
Deadline revealed in January 2023 that the fourth season wouldn’t air on its original home, as part of a slew of content cuts that also including the axing of Batgirl, Abrams’ HBO drama Demimonde, and TBS series such as The Big D, Chad and Kill The Orange Bear.
It is the latest series that AMC has saved after being scrapped elsewhere; the network bought Captain Nemo series Nautilus after it was cut by Disney+.

TNT will not air the fourth and final season of “Snowpiercer,” a rep for the network confirmed to TheWrap on Friday, but it is helping shop the sc-fi series to other networks.

“We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects,” the statement continued.

“Out of an abundance of caution, production of Snowpiercer wrapped early yesterday and was suspended for today due to extreme heat on location. The health and well-being of show cast and crew remains top priority,” a Tomorrow Studios spokesperson said, adding that all of the people who were in the hospital had been discharged.
The series, based on the graphic novel “Le Transperceneige” by Jacques Lob, is set in a post-apocalyptic future where a botched attempt to stop global warming has inadvertently created another ice age. Humanity’s remnants are forced to live in a singular, class-divided train owned by transportation magnate Wilford...

Exclusive: Production on the fourth and final season of Snowpiercer has been suspended after soaring temperatures Thursday led to multiple cases of heat exhaustion. One crew member told Deadline as many as 14 people, including background actors and crew members, were transported via ambulance to local hospitals.
Temperatures hit the mid-90s on the drama’s outdoor set Thursday in southwest British Columbia. Since the drama takes place in a new ice age, actors are required to wear heavy winter clothing.

Production got underway today in Vancouver, Canada on Season 4 of TNT’s Snowpiercer, with new cast members Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ) and Tony winner Michael Aronov (The Drop). Additionally, Emmy nominee Paul Zbyszewski (Lost), has been named showrunner and executive producer for Season 4. He takes over for Graeme Manson who was named showrunner in 2018, replacing Josh Friedman.
The news comes just ahead of tonight’s Season 3 finale, which airs at 9 Pm on TNT.
In the most recent ninth episode, Layton (Daveed Diggs), Ben (Iddo Goldberg), Josie (Katie McGuinness), Alex (Rowan Blanchard) and Javi (Roberto Urbina) band together to rescue Melanie (Jennifer Connelly). Relieved to find her alive, she is brought back on board the train safely, resulting in a blowout party on the train. The celebration is short-lived however when Melanie exposes Layton for misleading the passengers by offering hope of finding a viable existence in New Eden.

“Snowpiercer” is changing showrunners going into the show’s fourth season.
Paul Zbyszewski — whose past credits include “Lost,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “Helstrom” — will take the reins of the TNT series from Graeme Manson. Manson famously took over showrunning duties on the drama show after original series creator Josh Friedman and TNT parted ways over “creative differences” before Season 1.
In addition, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” alum Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov are both joining the series in Season 4. The news comes the same day as the Season 3 finale. Production is now underway on Season 4.
“We have been blessed with an abundance of riches in building the world of ‘Snowpiercer’ – from the incredible cast and crew, to the loyal fanbase and the building blocks afforded from the film and graphic novel,” said Manson and executive producer Aubrey Nealon. “Tonight’s finale is the culmination of several storylines, with unexpected twists and turns around every corner,...

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 9
From the very opening moments of Snowpiercer, it’s clear that the train that couldn’t slow down is in for some big changes. Ben (Iddo Goldberg) talks about how people build their lives around loved ones, and when those loved ones are lost, we lose part of ourselves and turn inward to examine who we are, if we did enough, and where we belong in this new world without that person in our lives. For Ben, that person has been Melanie (Jennifer Connelly), out in the frozen wilderness and presumed dead until signs of her active presence are uncovered. For Melanie, she’s lost everyone she’s ever known, depending on suspension drugs and stimulants to hope against hope that she’ll live long enough for someone, anyone to notice her presence and keep her from becoming just another frozen corpse among 7 billion or so.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1
One of the strongest features of Snowpiercer is the show’s ability to figure out ways to create claustrophobia. Granted, that’s easy on a train; it’s not exactly the sort of environment in which you can spread out and social distance from your neighbors. On the last train, however, that situation is even more dire, especially if you’re in third class or stuck in the tail. The people on board Snowpiercer toil away elbow to elbow with their fellows, making clothes, breaking up ice, cooking and growing food, even entertaining in the club car. There’s not a space to be alone, unless you’re the leader of the anti-Wilford resistance, and that means you’re alone in a room the size and temperature of a meat locker.

Snowpiercer Season 2 Episode 2
A show like Snowpiercer seems tailor-made for the winter. After all, it’s cold outside, so you might as well stay in. Sure, you’re probably still quarantined with your household after a long year, but at least you’re not stuck on a train. At least you’re not stuck on a train rattling around a frozen death world eating canned meat while waiting to become fertilizer (or canned meat yourself). As bad as things might be out here, at least it’s not Snowpiercer-bad these days; there are signs of hope everywhere, with vaccines in our world, and the recurring snowflakes seen every time the train is shown from outside.
Of course, in order to reclaim the world, Snowpiercer and the travelers along for the ride will have to survive Big Alice’s return, their own internal strife, and the machinations of the devious Mr.

Snowpiercer Season 2 Episode 1
Upon leaving the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked about what the new form of government for the United States of America would be. Franklin’s response has remained a famous example of the clever inventor’s wit and wisdom. Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.” The fledgling country, so recently freed from British rule and still coming to terms with what it was going to be, faced a multitude of threats, both foreign and domestic. The fledgling revolution on Snowpiercer, still patching wounds and cleaning up blood, faces a more immediate, grave threat in the form of Big Alice, Mr. Wilford’s personal train, latched onto the tail of Snowpiercer like a 40-car parasite attempting to wrest control from the people who just wrested control from Melanie Cavill.

In this exclusive clip from Episode 3 of “Berlin Station,” what seems like a typical night out in Berlin, complete with some spy-to-spy male bonding at a drag bar, quickly turns into an orchestrated double cross. While Daniel (Richard Armitage) is distracted by a lap-dancing drag queen, Hector (Rhys Ifans) swipes his phone and plants it with a bug.
With a not so subtle bit of foreshadowing, the clip opens with a singer in drag belting out (in German), “Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies — I’m sick and tired of lies from you.”

Everybody's making bad decisions in Fear The Walking Dead this week, putting themselves and others in mortal danger...
This review contains spoilers.
2.13 Date Of Death
In the real world, decisions can have weight, but they don't always become a matter of life or death. Picking the kind of car you want to buy is essentially meaningless; sure, there are some differences, but most cars are going to get you back and forth to work without lowering yourself to the indignities of public transportation. However, the kind of car you pick in the world of Fear The Walking Dead can mean the difference between living and dying. Will making bad choices for good reasons be a death sentence? Or will making bad choices for good reasons be a death sentence for someone's humanity?
Madison, as we've seen, is making terrible choices left and right, and the results come home to roost immediately.

Last week saw the release of a handful of new international films, with Jo Nesbø’s Headhunters topping the list, and this week brings with it a rather different line-up, with Peter Berg’s Battleship being the biggest name amongst the new arrivals, opposite Kevin Macdonald’s critically acclaimed documentary, Marley.
My picks of the week:
Kevin Macdonald’s Marley & Daniel Lee’s White Vengeance.

DVD and Blu-ray (inc. Digital and UltraViolet Copies)
Oscar-winner Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) returned this year with Marley, a documentary following on from his Life in a Day project last year, bringing us a portrait of one of the most iconic figures in music of the last century.
And we’ve currently got three copies of the film on Blu-ray to give away – click here to enter the competition.
