Wardell, the brother-sister indie duo from Theo and Sasha Spielberg, have released their first single called “I’m a Man.” The children of filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw, the group will be releasing their second album later this year.
“I’m a Man” is a low-tempo ballad from the siblings that muses over the pains of growing up, especially in these troubling times: “Good for our attention addiction/What’s the difference between telling lies/And swearing that the truth is on fire?”

Snapchat is getting more serious about its original programming initiatives. To that end, the messaging app, whose claim to fame is content which disappears after a short time frame, has hired Marcus Wiley as new Head of Program Planning and Development.
Wiley will be in charge of the Snap Channel, Snapchat’s original programming vertical on its own content platform Discover. According to Deadline, Wiley will work with the Snap Channel team to develop short-form narrative series in scripted, musical, and experimental formats, aimed at the app’s 13- to 34-year-old users.
The Snap Channel programming developed by Wiley will succeed Snapchat’s previous original content initiatives, such as the Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn-starring Literally Can’t Even (which has been renewed for a second season on the ephemeral messaging platform). Snapchat is moving forward with more of its own original content. The ephemeral messaging app has renewed its first web series Literally Can’t Even for a second season.
Literally Can’t Even is written by and stars Sasha Spielberg (daughter of Hollywood director Steven Spielberg) and Emily Goldwyn (daughter of film producer John Goldwyn). In the Snapchat series, Spielberg and Goldwyn deal with somewhat fictionalized, comical versions of their Los Angeles-based mishaps and unique adventures.
“We’re very excited about ‘Literally Can’t Even,’ especially the creative storytelling and the unique, made-for-mobile, vertical video format,” a Snapchat spokeswoman said to The Wrap, who originally reported the news.
The first season of Literally Can’t Even debuted on January 31, 2015. Like all other Snapchat content, all nine episodes of the series’ first season disappeared after 24 hours of their release every Saturday. Critics mostly gave Literally Can’t Even negative reviews, but...

Snapchat has renewed its first original series “Literally Can’t Even” for Season 2. The mobile series starring Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn — offspring of Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg and producer John Goldwyn — follows the (mostly) fictionalized misadventures of the two young women in Los Angeles. Spielberg and Goldwyn, who have been friends since age 6, have each uniquely embraced the entertainment industry — Sasha is in a band named Wardell with older brother Max while Emily is a writer’s assistant at HBO and previously worked on NBC’s “Up All Night.” And now with “Literally Can’t Even,” the duo...

Literally Can't Even will focus on the misadventures of the two L.A.-based comedians and appear on Snapchat's new "Snap Channel" (the one that pissed off all the teens) as part of "Discover" — the place where they'll likely start to wrap in media partners and advertising deals. If you're wondering whether the web series will disappear just like a regular Snapchat might, the answer is yes: "The episodes will disappear after 24 hours." No reruns for this web series. If you want a sense of what this Snapchat web series might look like, don't worry — the girls already use other cool, young, and hip social-media platform Vine:...

Is Steven Spielberg's daughter Sasha Spielberg gunning to be the next Lena Dunham? According to a new report, Sasha is looking to create a "Girls"-style TV drama inspired by her own life.
According to Radar Online, Sasha is hoping her friend Zooey Deschanel will help her create the project. Spielberg reportedly read Sasha's "autobiographical and graphically sexual" script and encouraged her to go forward with the TV show.
"The plot is shocking in its depiction of Sasha's romantic life as a student at Los Angeles prestigious Marlboro School for girls," a Radar source says. "How far it will go will depend on the network, but TV insiders believe it's in the vein of Lena Dunham's HBO show, 'Girls,' or a younger version of 'Sex and the City,' featuring no-holds-barred depictions of the sex lives of young female students. ... The show is expected to be confirmed very soon.

It might surprise you to learn that Steven Spielberg's progeny are more into making music than movies. Sasha Spielberg and Theo Spielberg, two of the legendary director's children with wife Kate Capshaw, formed an indie-folk band called Wardell and apparently Jay Z was impressed enough by the pair that he signed them to his Roc Nation music label. Sasha, 23, and her adopted big brother Theo, 25, are currently working on their debut album, which Roc Nation says it will release in 2014. The management company's website describes their sound as "at once warm and summery, comfortable and chill as a result of their Los Angeles upbringing…the kind of music you'd expect from two people...

Big brother Theo, 25, provides all the instrumentals for Wardell (including guitar, drums, and piano) and sister Sasha, 23, the nostalgia-tinged vocals. Roc Nation's website describes their collaboration thusly: "Sasha and Theo are brother and sister. That familiarity [...]...

Obviously the only reason we're writing about them is because they're the children of one of the most famous filmmakers of all time, but thankfully for our ears they're pretty talented musicians. In particular Sasha, who has appeared in some of her father's movies as well (The Terminal, Munich and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), has a lovely set of pipes. It's not hard to imagine their first released song, "Opossum," popping up in a darling little indie movie. And while that sounds like a complaint, we mean that in a good...

Chicago – The angst ridden, doom-and-gloom adolescent has been fodder for the movies ever since teenagers were invented. From James Dean to “Heathers,” the juvenile anti-hero trying to figure out life has lit up the screen. Freddie Highmore takes his turn in “The Art of Getting By.”
Rating: 3.5/5.0
This is Holden Caulfield (”Catcher in the Rye”) territory, because the setting is New York City among the upper middle class, private school types. While the character of George Zinavoy (Highmore) can never reach the rarified fatalism of Mr. Caulfield, his questioning of existence does have a mordant perversion. And although the film makes some bad “happy ending” decisions, for the most part it exposes the subject matter in an interesting manner.
George Zinavoy is in his senior year at a college prep New York City academy. He barely can tolerate school, and sits in his classes moodily drawing unique images in a sketchbook.

As George, Freddie Highmore has a lot of help coming of age in "The Art of Getting By," and one of his guides into the wide world of moneyed NYC teens is a hard-partying high schooler named Zoe Rubenstein.

Don't be fooled by the bad-girl persona, though; Zoe's played by Sasha Spielberg, the daughter of E.T.'s daddy Steven.
