Biggest Feud: Nobody, even the folks at the History Network, dared to dream that Hatfields & McCoys would bring in the kind of numbers that make cable execs weep with joy.
Least Surprising Spin-Off: TLC will give Toddlers & Tiaras unforgettable tot Alana — best known for such sassy and incredibly creepy quips as “A dolla makes me holla, honey boo-boo!” — her own series. Because clearly, the apocalypse just can’t come soon enough for some people.
Soapiest Development, Primetime: Like a daytime villain rising from a premature grave, Devious Maids — rejected by ABC — may wind up getting a second chance via Lifetime.
Show Most In Need Of A New Name: From the owners to the staff to the guests, The Catalina is so unappealing it should be called Hotel Hell.
Scariest News: Cougar Town’s new showrunner is… the guy who gave us Gary Unmarried. Oh dear. Where’s Big Carl when we need him?...

Sad story for fans of the cult 1980s sitcom Small Wonder. The actor who played the chubby-cheeked brother of the little-girl android is now broke and homeless, often sleeping under a bridge. Jerry Supiran, 39, relates his troubles to The National Enquirer, blaming a stripper girlfriend and a crooked money manager for the evaporation of his funds. Here’s a glimpse of Supiran in better times: [There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]...

Former TV actor Jerry Supiran—the non-robot child on syndication mainstay Small Wonder—is currently living under a bridge in central California, the result of years of incipient financial ruin and vulnerably human decisions involving strippers. Supiran enjoyed a somewhat-prolific career in the 1980s, landing roles on shows like Little House On The Prairie, Mr. Belvedere, Fame, and St. Elsewhere before taking on the part of Jamie Lawson, the mischievous, cherubic-faced son of an inventor who creates a robot girl known as V.I.C.I. (or "Voice Input Child Identicant"). Though garishly low-budget, painfully unfunny, and critically derided ...

Small Wonder child star Jerry Supiran is homeless.
Supiran, who played 12-year-old Jamie Lawson on the hit U.S sitcom, lost his small fortune to a series of unfortunate events during his teenage years and he has been having trouble finding work ever since.
He tells the National Enquirer, "When I was 18, I dated a stripper and she took what was left of my trust fund - then one of my advisers stole a half-million dollars from me.
"I've worked at different steakhouses for the last 15 years, but two years ago I was laid off from a restaurant in Henderson, Nevada, due to the economy. I haven't been able to find a job since."
And now the former actor, who also appeared in Little House on the Prairie, is living on the streets in his native California.
Supiran, aged 39, adds, "I had to move back to central California, where my brother lives with his family, and while he helps me with hot meals and a shower, he doesn't have the room for me to stay there. So I either sleep at the homeless shelter I volunteer at, or under a local bridge.

If the '60s was the time when everyone was stoned out of their gourds and the '70s was the decade of bad taste, the '80s will be remembered as the decade when those two impulses collided head-on, giving us some of the strangest TV shows ever made. After all, what can you say about a decade that kicked off with Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari getting tarted up in drag in Bosom Buddies and then proceded on to Manimal, Knight Rider, Webster, and Alf? Still, maybe the most jaw-droppingly bizarre show of the Reagan era was Small Wonder...

Roger Ebert recently made people aware of a video on YouTube called The Open Road London.
The film was taken decades ago. The hustle and bustle of life in the city is enough to make you think that even after all technology has done for us we’re still as busy as ever. The Beefeater who just saunters in the frame, the double-decker busses, the police directing traffic by hand, it’s all very quaint. The amusing thing about this full color...

Small Wonder confirmed the age-old adage: If it looks like a ten-year-old girl and talks like a robot… it’s a Robot! When genius cybernetics engineer Ted Lawson (Dick Christie) brings home his top secret invention, a Voice Input Child Identicant or V.I.C.I. (Tiffany Brissette), life becomes anything but mechanic for the Lawson family. With Ted’s boss and nosy neighbors (the Brindles) next door, his family must pass off Vickie as a real child. It’s easy for his wife Joan (Marla Pennington) who can’t help dotting on her like a real daughter, but harder for his precocious son Jamie (Jerry Supiran) who uses Vickie to do his homework and ward off [...]...
