Bones. Bones. Bones. The time has come to say goodbye. But before we do, we still have the mighty finale of finales delivered to us and 13 million of our closest friends by directors Ian Toynton ("The Final Chapter: The Day in the Life") and David Boreanaz (The Final Chapter: The End in the End.") In preparation for the two-part event, Fox gave the press a little preview screening so we could tease you.
Now, if you are cautiously curious like me, you don't want to be spoiled, but you enjoy a little harmless flirtation. That is what I have to offer you, fellow Boneheads. Sometimes it's the chase that makes the chase-catch interim bearable. In that vein, I offer you my final 13 cryptic teases for Bones' last original episodes.

From a poem to a play to a number of high-profile films, Annie has been a very popular orphan.
Columbia Pictures released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming musical comedy Annie, and in it we get a fun, lighthearted look at the world of orphans who are forced to be political pawns in order for a wealthy man to maintain his grasp on power and influence over the population. But, in a fun way, and also there's a lesson about love in there too.
However, this story goes back over 130 years through a long and complicated lineage of adaptation and interpretation in various forms of media. So let's take a look back at the history of Annie.

The premise behind Fox’s Bones has always felt as it was straining against credulity. After all, how many bizarre murders occur that require a dedicated team of forensic anthropologists? Well, the answer appears to be eight and counting although with season nine now airing, it’s also starting to sag under its own weight and age. As a result, the cases have taken a back seat to meta stories and character arcs that never feel fully explored.
At the end of the seventh season, Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) took her infant son and abandoned her lover, FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and was on the run after a series of unbelievable charges were leveled against her by the sadistic Pelant (Andrew Leeds). We open the eighth season, out now on home video from 20th Century Home Entertainment, several months later as the couple is reunited. However,...

It took Temperance Brennan a long time to get there.
For a duration of Bones, this character was opposed to marriage, relying more on her head than her heart and refusing to commit to such a step with Booth.
But something changes on Bones Season 8, just in time for Brennan to have her heart broken. In this exclusive interview with Emily Deschanel from Comic-Con, we ask the actress about Brennan's decision and get an update on her mental state heading into Season 9.

Bones has cast its second major Season 9 role in as many days.
With Freddie Prinze. Jr. on board as a covert CIA Agent from Booth's past, Fox sources now confirm that Mather Zickel will appear on multiple episodes as a former priest who, as previously reported, will step in and help Booth with both his Pelant situation and his proposal situation.
Bones Season 9 kicks off on September 16.
At Comic-Con last week, producers Ian Toynton and Hart Hanson said Booth won't exactly be Mr. Popular among his friends and colleagues when the series returns, prompting him to reunite with both of the just-cast characters.

"Buffy" fans: Are you ready to see Sarah Michelle Gellar's real-life husband face off against "Angel" himself, David Boreanaz?
It may not be exactly the battle Whedonites were waiting for, but "Bones" fans will see Freddie Prinze Jr. as a CIA agent named Danny, an "armed and dangerous" old associate of Booth’s, who's particularly invested in Booth (Boreanaz) and Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) murder investigation. He'll appear in the Season 9 premiere, TVLine was the first to report.
The Huffington Post has confirmed with a Fox rep that Prinze has potential for a multi-episode arc on "Bones'" upcoming season.

Freddie Prinze Jr. is headed to Fox.
The veteran actor - whose most extensive small screen experience took place in 2010 on 24 - will guest star on the Bones Season 9 premiere. According to TV Line, he will portray a covert CIA agent with ties to Booth's past and an interest in his current investigation.
As producers Hart Hanson and Ian Toynton teased to us at Comic-Con, Booth will not be a very popular man when this Fox hit returns. As a result, he'll reunited with many figures from his past, including Prinze's agent and an as-yet-uncast priest.

Who is the most furious at Booth on Bones Season 9? Who is, surprisingly, taking his necessary rejection of Brennan the best?
Why is Sweets feeling so guilty?
What figure from Booth's past will play a key role on the September 16 premiere?

Shortly after "Bones" was a hit -- yet again -- at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, producers Hart Hanson and Ian Toynton took a moment to talk about the show. Why did they break our hearts in the Season 8 finale? What's coming when "Bones" returns in Season 9?
Find out in this interview.
"How mean do we have to be to keep the series interesting?" Hanson answered when asked about the heartbreak of the Season 8 finale. "Going into Season 9, I think the answer is -- pretty mean."
Other than the continuing hunt for serial killer Christopher Pelant, what is coming in Season 9? Hanson and Toynton had some answers. We can expect:
Angela and Hodgins may have some marital trouble over their differing opinions about Booth (remember: Angela hates him right now).
Sweets has to deal with the fact that Pelant has his professional records -- will he have to help a killer?...

Big news, "Bones" fans: Bones and Booth will finally tie the knot in Season 9. To make the announcement extra exciting, David Boreanaz did the proposal the right way during the "Bones" San Diego Comic-Con panel, which meant getting down on one knee in front of Emily Deschanel in-character and popping the question.
"I'm getting married to David Boreanaz!" Deschanel yells in response, confirming the news.
"I think it will be better scripted," showrunner Hart Hanson jokes of how the actual scene will play out.
The panel opened with a sizzle reel of "Bones" that showcased the series' comedic elements, and that's what the actual panel showed as well. Following the wedding news, Boreanaz and Deschanel did a script read of the Season 8 finale. The readthrough was extra hilarious because Deschanel and Boreanaz switched roles, meaning fans got to see some pretty dramatic versions of Booth and Bones. But it's the...

Dramedy procedural Bones will continue to be the longest-running live-action series on Fox with a renewal for a ninth season. The pickup came after stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, whose current contracts were up at the end of this season, closed new deals right before the New Year. “After more than 150 episodes, Bones continues to be one of television’s most dynamic and consistent dramas,” said Fox chairman Kevin Reilly. Bones returns with all new episodes, beginning with a two-hour winter premiere, on Monday. It will be used to launch Fox’s midseason drama hopeful The Following. Bones was created by Hart Hanson. Hanson, Stephen Nathan, Ian Toynton, Barry Josephson and Jonathan Collier are executive producers for 20th Century Fox TV.

With Dr. Temperance Brennan sharing the same moniker as the show in which she stars, it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that Booth and Brennan (nay, Bones) are reunited in tonight’s much-anticipated eighth season finale. That said, what certainly will come as one are the circumstances surrounding their hotel rendezvous, the fate of arch-nemesis Christopher Pelant and what other surprises await the gang from the Jeffersonian. At least that was our takeaway from a recent conference call with two of the most likeable showrunners in Hollywood, executive producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan. See for yourself, after the jump.
So Pelant, he’s like a bad rash, he just won’t go away. Is he going to continue and be at the forefront as a criminal this season, or have you guys got somebody else lined up?
Stephen: He’s going to be around all season.

Regardless of where you fall on the "Bones" fan spectrum -- pro or anti-hookup -- this season has probably been relatively trying for you.
The tension since the team's reunion has cast a pall over the week-to-week mystery-solving, so it was satisfying to see those bottled up emotions finally boil over in "The Doctor in the Photo." Artistically, it was also a near perfect episode -- if you ignore the grotesque "Bing" plug.
A solid hour of Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) slowly unraveling while trying to solve what appears to be her own murder, it delivered on every level. The Hitchcockian tone, Deschanel's powerhouse performance and the emotional pay-off, six seasons in the making, all lived up to the hype.
And though it's difficult to approach this episode as we would any other because of its unique nature, we are creatures of habit.

It's hard to believe, but season finale time is almost upon us.
Yeah, we want to cry about it, too.
The good news for fans, however, is that said season finales will be extra special.
A few "Bones" teases to keep you satiated while waiting for summer...
Angela and Hodgins really look happy, no? They each have choices to make involving family and career, but it seems like they could balance both better as a team. Just our two cents...
Someone decidedly less happy? Booth. Poor Booth. His past has come knocking and he's not sure what to do...
So naturally he discusses the situation with Brennan. And yes, this might be part of what John Francis Daley (Sweets) and Carla Gallo (Daisy) teased about the Booth-Brennan relationship. But don't expect this particular discussion to be confined solely to this scene.
Oh, and the fact that Fox has only released three photos for the finale?...

With everyone on "Bones" coupling up, isn't it time Arastoo got a girl of his own?

Booth and Brennan are investigating a murder at a rock-and-roll fantasy camp on Thursday's (April 29) episode of "Bones," but frankly, Korbi TV is a little more excited about something else going down during that hour: The arrival of Cam's boyfriend!
We caught up with Tamara Taylor (Cam), who gave us a bit of insight on how that relationship works out.
"Cam gets a love and it's like love and loss," she says in the video interview below. "Not the loss of love but you will see [what I mean when the season finale airs]. There's not much more I can say. The season finale, it's going to leave people wondering what happens next."
So is Tamara wondering what happens next?
"The writers are always surprising me," she says. "It's interesting because I don't know how they're going to start Season 6. It's really sort of curious and interesting. Wait until you get to the season finale ... I think we...

Nearly three years after the Gravedigger first hit "Bones," fans will finally see her put on trial early next month.
But we still have one burning question: What the h@%! did Brennan (Emily Deschanel) write in that letter when the Gravedigger buried her alive and she thought she'd reached her end?
Korbi TV spoke with executive producer Stephen Nathan a few months ago and he was pretty coy about whether the infamous letter would make an appearance in the upcoming Gravedigger ep.
But we're, uh, persistent.
So when we caught up with Nathan recently, we managed to glean a bit more information.
"The Brennan letter...I don't really want to say the Brennan letter comes up [in the Gravedigger episode]," Nathan tells Korbi TV in the video below. "Brennan's experience in the car returns. Because we're not finished with the Gravedigger, we're not finished with that aspect of Brennan's experience with the Gravedigger either.

It's been a long time coming, but Thursday (April 22) on "Bones," a woman -- whose name isn't Brennan -- catches Booth's eye.
I know, I know. It hurts us, too.
But as we've said before, peep the evil eye Brennan's giving this Dr. Bryar chick (Rena Sofer). Maybe this will be what it takes for her to realize she wants to take a chance on a relationship with Booth.
And in the meantime, Booth deserves a little bit of happiness after his heartbreak, no?
Korbi TV caught up with David Boreanaz recently and got his take on the newest lady in Booth's life.
"[Dr. Bryar]'s a totally different type of character," Boreanaz says in the video below. "She's a little bit of an aggressive, strong personality. Not to say that Brennan [doesn't have a strong personality], but Brennan is all about the facts. ... It's an interesting dynamic for how it unfolds."

The executive producers of Bones have admitted that they are unsure what will happen to the show's characters in the future. In the 100th episode of the series, Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) told Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) that she does not want a romantic relationship with him. "We did accomplish a great prequel [to the Booth and Brennan story]," producer Barry Josephson told Zap2It. "And now... where do we go?" His fellow producer Ian Toynton said: "I'm looking forward to finding that out as well, because I actually don't know. You'll (more)...

After last week's game-changing 100th episode of "Bones," what will happen with Booth and Brennan?
Korbi TV took the query to executive producers Barry Josephson and Ian Toynton.
"[With the 100th episode] we did accomplish a great prequel [to the Booth and Brennan story]," Josephson says in the clip below. "And now, Ian, where do we go?"
"I'm looking forward to finding that out as well, because I actually don't know," Toynton says. "You'll have to ask [creator] Hart [Hanson] where it's going to go. Wherever it does go, I'm sure it'll be as good as it has been, if not better. That's what we're aiming for."
But since Toynton directed the season finale, we had to pry a bit more.
"Like all of the shows, there's a balance," Toynton teases. "A wonderful balance between the emotional side that really does touch you, and moments of laughter, which is I think a very clever balance where the writing is so good on the show.

Veteran TV director Ian Toynton has inked an overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television.
Under the mid-six-figure pact, which begins in May, Toynton will develop new projects for the studio. He also will direct episodes of 20th TV series as well as a pilot that might come out of his development.
20th TV president Gary Newman said execs were so impressed with Toynton's work on two Fox dramas -- the studio's 24 as well as on the Fox/Warner Bros. TV soap The O.C. -- that they recruited him to direct 20th TV pilot Supreme Courtships, a soapy comedic drama for Fox about the lives of Supreme Court clerks and the judges for whom they work.
"More than anything, it's his versatility as a director," Newman said. "He can go from doing a great job on a show full of action and intensity like '24' to a show with romance and humor."
Toynton most recently worked on O.C. as director/co-executive producer and helmed the show's series finale, which aired Wednesday night.

NBC has tapped Spike Lee to direct its drama pilot M.O.N.Y. and Gary Winick to helm another one-hour pilot, the dramedy Lipstick Jungle.
Meanwhile, ABC has signed Peyton Reed to direct Cashmere Mafia, and Fox has recruited P.J. Hogan for Philadelphia General.
Other notable directors who have come aboard pilots include Emmy winner Todd Holland on the CBS comedy Fugly, Emmy winner Jon Cassar on the Fox drama NSA Innocent, Alex Graves on the NBC drama Journeyman and Ian Toynton on Fox's comedic drama Supreme Courtships.
M.O.N.Y., from NBC Universal TV Studio and writer-producers Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson, centers on an unlikely everyman who becomes the mayor of New York. The project, set and to be filmed in New York, is considered a great fit for Lee, one of the quintessential New York directors. His attachment to the project stems from his development deal with NBC earlier this year. He is repped by WMA.
Winick, who has directed such movies as 13 Going on 30 and last year's Charlotte's Web, will tackle NBC Universal TV Studio's Lipstick, about a trio of power-hungry New York women.
