The CBS single-camera supernatural comedy “Ghosts” – adapted from the British series of the same name – stars Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Sam and Jay, a young couple who inherit a rundown mansion that’s co-inhabited by the spirits of those who died on the property throughout history. On May 2, the hit series wrapped its third season and has been renewed for a fourth next fall. But a recent gathering of quite mortal “Ghosts” panelists focused in deep-dive fashion on the making of the momentous eighth episode of the season that premiered April 18, entitled “Holes Are Bad.” On hand to reveal secrets about that installment are creator-showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, series regulars Rebecca Wisocky (who portrays Hetty) and Sheila Carrasco (who plays Flower), and the episode’s writer (Sophia Lear) and director (Jude Weng). Watch our colorful and “spirited” discussion above.

Asher Grodman, the actor who plays Trevor on Ghosts, thinks fans of the series should prepare themselves for a wild ride. The Ghosts season 3 finale is just weeks away, and the writers have a lot to live up to. The season 2 finale served up a massive cliffhanger. In the season 2 finale, fans saw a spirit get “sucked off” into the afterlife, but they needed to wait until midway through season 3 to learn who actually went on to the next realm. Grodman says the season 3 finale is even bigger than season 2.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Thursday’s episode of Ghosts.
Woodstone Mansion was in for quite the surprise on this week’s episode of Ghosts.
The penultimate episode didn’t disappoint, revealing yet another ghost’s powers. It looks like Pete (Richie Moriarty) isn’t stuck on the property after all. Unlike everyone else, he isn’t bound by the ghost border at Woodstone and can travel wherever he pleases. Naturally, his first getaway is a trip to the grocery store with Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who immediately loses him due to the fact that he can’t actually see any of the ghosts.
Luckily, this wasn’t another Flower (Sheila Carrasco) situation. By the end of the episode, Pete had returned safe and sound. But the newfound confidence he got from leaving the property inspired him to take a trip to see his family. Hopefully he’ll be...

Ghosts fans were thrilled when Flower, the spirit who was believed to be “sucked off” in the season 3 premiere, returned. Flower was missing from the beloved series for most of season 3 before fans learned she had fallen into a well and could not climb out because ghosts can walk through walls. While fans were always hopeful the spirit would return, the reappearance of Flower restored Woodstone Mansion’s vibe. Keeping the secret was no easy task for Sheila Carrasco, the actor who portrays Flower on Ghosts. Carrasco recently revealed it was difficult not to tell those closest to her what was happening.

[This story contains spoilers from the season 3, episode 8 of Ghosts, “Holes Are Bad.”]
The premise of CBS’ hit comedy Ghosts is a notably ridiculous one: After a near-death experience, Sam (Rose McIver) can communicate with the spirits who haunt the country home she inherited from her great aunt — a group of specters from all walks of life and historical eras who died on the property at some point in time. One of those ghosts includes Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), the great-great-great-great-aunt to Sam, who maintains a stuffy, Gilded Age-era attitude that prides wealth and power and shows a disdain for modern times.
In the eighth episode of Ghosts‘ third season, however, we learn a surprising fact about Hetty that brings more depth to a character who has slowly revealed herself to be more than just an uptight robber baroness from a far-off generation. Unhappily married to a devious man of means, she is pinned into a corner when her...

CBS is looking to scare up more laughs after handing an early Season 4 renewal to supernatural comedy Ghosts.
It is the latest renewal order for the Paramount-owned network, which also handed a third season to Fire Country and gave Justin Hartley series Tracker a second season earlier this month.
Ghosts, which is based on the BBC’s British comedy, has been a success for CBS since launching in 2021. Its third season is averaging over 10M viewers in live 7-day multiplatform viewing, which is marginally up from last year and streaming numbers are up on Paramount+, where the company said it ranked as its number one comedy in February.

Season 3 of Ghosts kicked off with a big reveal. The cast was making announcements ahead of the season’s premiere, though. In January, Rose McIver, the actor who portrays Sam, took to Instagram to make a big announcement of her own. She revealed that she and her husband, George Byrne, are expecting their first child together. Fans were thrilled by the news, but McIver’s pregnancy did raise a few questions. Most importantly, Ghosts fans wanted to know if the series, which premiered its third season in February, would write Rose McIver’s pregnancy into the season. We have the answer.
Rose McIver’s pregnancy has not been written into ‘Ghosts’
Rose McIver is preparing to welcome her first child into the world, but her character won’t be doing the same. When Rose McIver appeared visibly pregnant at the Golden Globe Awards, fans quickly assumed that season 3 of Ghosts would have a pregnancy storyline.

It’s been a long wait for the Ghosts season 3 premiere – nine months, in fact, since the Ghosts season 2 finale ended on a major cliffhanger in May 2023. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes unexpectedly extended the usual planned summer break hiatus well into the fall and winter.
Now fans are finally finding out what happened immediately after Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) watched in shock from their car as a massive light beamed down from heaven to “suck off” (in the show’s parlance) one of the ghosts.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 3 premiere of “Ghosts,” titled “The Owl,” which aired Feb. 15 on CBS.
Flower, hopefully you’re finally getting to cuddle a few bears up there in the sky. Yes, you read that right: There’s one less ghost on “Ghosts,” as the characters said farewell to Flower on the Season 3 premiere of CBS’ hit comedy.
The series finally returned on Thursday (after a long strikes-induced delay), and we learned which spirit had been finally sent to the afterlife. After a few fakeouts, the ghosts discovered that it was Flower (Sheila Carrasco) who was “sucked off” in the Season 2 finale, as witnessed by Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar).
Flower is the 1960s-era hippie who died trying to hug a bear while high on acid, and remained a bit forgetful and drugged-out while living in the purgatory that is Woodstone Mansion.

Ghosts will finally return for its long-awaited third season on CBS on Thursday, February 15, and while some fans may still be wondering about Season 2’s lingering question of which ghost was “sucked off,” new questions have since surfaced. Fans of star Rose McIver, who plays “living” Sam, may have noticed when she presented at the Golden Globe Awards that she’s pregnant, leading to the question of how that might impact her story in the series. “We’re not writing it in,” co-showrunner Joe Wiseman tells TV Insider. “Currently, Jay and Sam aren’t going to have kids.” (Credit: Bertrand Calmeau/CBS) At least not now. After being forced to push the Season 3 premiere date for its hit comedy Ghosts to February 15, 2024 amidst this summer’s dual strikes, CBS is readying for its return to production, star Danielle Pinnock has revealed.
“We start shooting on Saturday. I fly down to Montreal. We’re going back, baby!” exclaimed Pinnock tonight, in conversation with Deadline at the red carpet premiere for her new Amazon MGM holiday film, Candy Cane Lane. “We did a table read — those scripts are good!”
Pinnock expects the show to shoot “only 10 episodes this season,” rather than the 18+ that have been put out in its first two go-rounds, because of both strike-forced delays and the fact that her co-star Sheila Carrasco is expecting her first child. Still, she teased, “those episodes are fierce and the audiences should prepare themselves.”

Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn, Danielle Pinnock as Alberta and Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty in ‘Ghosts’ season 2 episode 2
CBS’s Ghosts season two panel at the New York Comic Con kicked off with a screening of the October 6, 2022 episode, “Alberta’s Podcast.” Executive producer/co-showrunner Joe Wiseman, Román Zaragoza (“Sasappis”), Sheila Carrasco (“Flower”), Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Jay”), Danielle Pinnock (“Alberta”), Asher Grodman (“Trevor”), and Rebecca Wisocky (“Hetty”) took the stage at Javits Center in Nycc to discuss the popular half-hour comedy currently airing on Thursday nights.
Here’s a brief recap of all things Ghosts from the Nycc panel:
Danielle Pinnock was happy to have a flashback episode to the 1920s that focused on Alberta’s backstory. Getting to know more about the character was great, but most importantly Pinnock was able to actually touch props – something she can’t do playing a ghost. It was a thrill to hold a mic in a jazz club,...

The shenanigans at Woodstone Manor are only getting sillier now that the bed and breakfast is open for business.
A trailer released Friday gives us yet another look at what we can expect from “Ghosts” Season 2, which debuts at the end of the month. The sophomore season of the CBS comedy promises more chaos as our favorite spirits question why they need to welcome any new guests in the first place.
“To earn money, so we can eat,” Rose McIver’s Samantha tells the ghosts, to which Brandon Scott Jones’ Revolutionary War soldier Isaac quips: “Oh, someone can consume food. Must be nice.”
The previous teaser for Season 2 hinted that Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) might finally be able to also see the ghosts, after he fell through the floor into the basement at the end of the first season. Friday’s trailer continues with that speculation, expanding upon a scene where...

The CBS remake would sit alongside the critically acclaimed UK original, from the team behind Horrible Histories, which is due to release its fourth series on the BBC on the 23rd of September.
Both shows share an identical premise: a young couple inherits a dilapidated mansion filled with the ghosts of the people who have died there throughout history. When we last saw Ghosts‘ B&b owners Jay and Samantha (Utkarsh Ambudkar and Rose McIver), they’d just fallen through the floor of Woodstone Mansion into its basement. Will the accident give Jay the ability to see and hear the resident ghosts the way Samantha can (thanks to a near-death run-in with a staircase in the series premiere)? We’re about to find out. Showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman dish on what else to expect when last season’s top new comedy returns and the B&b welcomes guests. (Credit: Bertrand Calmeau/CBS) 1. The ghosts make it their business to help. In the opener, their offer to spy on a couple who have a history of leaving vicious reviews online splits Samantha and Jay. (Spoiler: They do it anyway.) While the spouses learn how hard it is to run a struggling new venture, “They’re going to have some successes too,...
