Robin Roberts missed the recent episode of Good Morning America, with a colleague filling in for the longtime anchor.
As GMA opened Friday, Rebecca Jarvis was at the desk with co-anchors Michael Strahan and George Stephanopolous.
The trio didn’t comment on Robin’s whereabouts, although she’s missed Friday episodes regularly.
She’d just returned to the morning show earlier in the week after traveling with friends and colleagues.
Robin went on a big trip to Cleveland, Ohio, to watch the NCAA Women’s College Basketball Championship Game featuring Caitlin Clark and Iowa against No. 1 South Carolina.
Following that event, Robin said a colleague encouraged her to stay in the city to witness the total solar eclipse, which was viewable near the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
She returned to GMA briefly until she was back on the road for another adventure, as she revealed to fans after her latest absence.

Native son Cody Johnson opened the show with an everything-is-bigger performance of a song called “That’s Texas.” Cowboy hats were ubiquitous,...

Tonight’s CMT Music Awards show will endeavor to emphasize what’s currently flameworthy, to borrow a word that has long since been retired from the telecast’s original name. Prime performance slots have been given to country music figures who are still on the ascent, from still-fairly-freshly-minted superstars Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson to up-and-comers who really seem fresh out of the oven, like Megan Moroney and TikTok sensation Dasha.
To a less emphatic extent, “we also know that we have to pay homage to the artists that got us here,” says executive producer John Hamlin, which for the 2024 show means paying tribute to two icons of ’90s country. “So we’re thrilled to be honoring Trisha Yearwood this year, something that Margaret Comeaux and Leslie Fram [his fellow producer] spent a lot of time orchestrating to make happen for the show. Toby Keith, whose history with the CMT Music Awards goes back to having co-hosted the earliest incarnation of the show, will get his due in the wake of his recent death, as an all-star salute is planned for Keith on Sunday night’s three-hour CBS telecast.
The tribute will feature performances by one of the hottest figures in country music, Lainey Wilson, along with his fellow industry veterans Brooks & Dunn, whose Ronnie Dunn is a fellow Okie. Rocker Sammy Hagar, who featured Keith on an episode of his TV series “Rock & Roll Road Trip” in 2022, will join the lineup paying homage.

Trisha Yearwood will be the inaugural recipient of CMT’s June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award, as well as performing a new song, on the “CMT Music Awards” telecast, airing live April 7 on CBS.
The singer will get the honor for her philanthropic work, which extends across many charities but most visibly includes two decades of involvement with Habitat for Humanity, which she’s long supported alongside husband Garth Brooks. (They were jointly given the org’s Habitat Humanitarians honor in 2016.)
Yearwood will use her first appearance on the annual awards show in five years to premiere “Put It in a Song,” the first preview of a forthcoming album that will be a first in her career, in that it’ll be the first collection in which she co-wrote all the songs.

If her latest message is any indication, Good Morning America star Robin Roberts is ready to take more time off from her day job.
Roberts has previously missed episodes of the show due to travel or spending time with friends and family.
She’s also frequently been away for Friday episodes of the show, often enjoying a three-day weekend to recharge after her busy work schedule.
In the past month, Roberts also left New York to travel around the country for several days on various assignments for ABC’s morning and evening news programs.
That included stops in Iowa, Tennessee, and California before she returned to New York and Connecticut, her home region.
Ahead of the Thursday, March 21 episode of GMA, she shared what some might consider a cryptic message about work and family, followed by an update about traveling.

The new episode of The Masked Singer saw four new singers show up to compete for the big prize. Two singers had to fight for their lives, with Lizard beating out Spaghetti & Meatballs in the Smackdown. However, two other singers moved on without concern, with Poodle Moth and Clock safe to move forward.
Here is what we know about Poodle Moth, the clue package, and who we think is under the costume on The Masked Singer.
Poodle Moth Performs On The Masked Singer
Poodle Moth is one of the strangest costumes on The Masked Singer this season, as it is a moth that looks like a furry poodle with a big voice. She came out and performed the Billy Joel song “Just the Way You Are.” Poodle Moth received praise from the panelists, with Rita Ora saying it was the most powerful voice she had heard so far.

“The Masked Singer” season 11 debuted another quartet of contestants on March 20. Of these new contenders for the Golden Mask, our favorite is the one disguised as Poodle Moth. She won over the crowd and the judges with her cover of the Billy Joel classic “Just the Way You Are.”
We’ve been rewatching that performance and her clues video. While we think that Poodle Moth is a professional singer we don’t agree with the judges that it is Wynonna Judd, Rita Wilson or Trisha Yearwood. Keep reading for all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers including the answer to the question, “Who is Poodle Moth”?
We are convinced that Poodle Moth is Chrissy Metz. Although best known for her starring role in the TV drama “This Is Us,” Metz is also a talented singer, focusing on inspirational music.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 11, Episode 3 of “The Masked Singer,” “Billy Joel Night,” which aired March 20 on Fox.
In a Fox reality crossover, “MasterChef” judge Joe Bastianich was revealed to be the singer under the Spaghetti & Meatballs costume on this week’s episode of “The Masked Singer.” And in a coincidence, the restauranteur appeared on “Billy Joel Night” — and the Piano Man happens to be a buddy.
“I grew up on Long Island in the 70s and 80s,” Bastianich told Variety. “That was the soundtrack of that era. Some of the greatest songs ever written. I know Billy Joel, personally, from growing up and as a customer in all the restaurants. I hope he gets to see it!”
For Bastianich, none of the panelists got it right. Robin Thicke guessed Stanley Tucci. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg said Guy Fieri. Ken Jeong picked Bobby Flay. New panelist Rita Ora was close,...

Voice coach Reba McEntire reminded people not to believe everything they see online, including random quotes without any authentic source.
Last week, a rumor arrived online that the music legend blasted fellow singing superstar Taylor Swift.
That rumor was reportedly started by a Facebook page called America Loves Liberty in a post about McEntire’s National Anthem performance at Super Bowl Lviii in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Swift also attended the game, but not as a performer. Instead, she was among cheering fans who supported her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his Kansas City Chiefs in the big game.
Kelce and company would win a thrilling game against the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 25-22.
Meanwhile, the Facebook page above shared a message suggesting that McEntire wasn’t happy with Swift.

LeAnn Rimes is one of the biggest names in country music. Fans watching The Masked Singer Season 11 will see her hit the stage in 2024, reminding viewers of Rimes’ powerful pipes and the beautiful songs she’s released through the years. However, it hasn’t been easy for the superstar. When she was just 14 years old, she released a version of the same song as Trisha Yearwood on the same day — and it sparked a “feud” that country fans will never forget. Here’s what Rimes said about it.

Robin Roberts told her Good Morning America co-star “Not a chance” during a wild TV segment that included their colleagues.
After missing GMA in New York last week, Roberts returned to the studio for episodes on Monday and Tuesday.
Her co-anchor, Michael Strahan, was out both days, likely due to spending time with family or other significant events.
However, Roberts and Strahan appeared together in a recent piece of movie magic for viewers.
With the Oscars this past weekend, it also meant Oscars afterparties, and GMA was part of the festivities.
The group participated in a crazy, fun spoof of one of the top award contenders throughout the 2024 awards season.

It’s time to crank the amps up to 11. Or, is it 12?
“This is Spın̈al Tap” (with a dotless i and umlauts on the n), Rob Reiner’s legendary spoof film starring Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and a slew of guests like Paul Shaffer (“kick my ass!”), Fran Drescher, Bruno Kirby (“if Frank Sinatra says it’s okay!”), and Billy Crystal (“mime is money!”) was way ahead of its time as both a mockumentary and in satirizing the rock lifestyle. The film is beloved by fans, and especially musicians, and it certainly seems like there’s been a sequel already. The gang has reunited for television specials, album releases (“Break Like the Wind”), made an appearance on “The Simpsons,” and, of course, the three actors have done several similar improv-style satires, including “A Mighty Wind,” which skewers folk musicians. But there actually hasn’t been a sequel...

The long awaited follow up to Rob Reiner’s comedy classic This Is Spinal Tap has begun filming, lots of musical cameos have also been confirmed.

When the first official word broke of a proper, big screen sequel to 1984 comedy classic This Is Spinal Tap, the plan according to director (and onscreen documentarian Marti Dibergi) Rob Reiner was to have the new film out in time for this year's 40th anniversary of the original's release. Alas, in true Tap fashion, it has not come to pass, the actors' strike partly responsible for the film lingering in limbo like the band wandering the labyrinthine corridors of a Cleveland concert venue. But crank your excitement levels to 11, as Castle Rock and Reiner have announced that the sequel is now shooting.
Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are all back, having worked out a concept for the follow-up with Reiner that will see heavy metal legends Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls reunite for one last, contractually-obligated tour.

Questlove and Trisha Yearwood are turning it up to 11.
The musicians have signed on to play themselves in cameo roles in Rob Reiner’s sequel to his 1984 cult classic This is Spinal Tap, which Reiner has begun shooting in New Orleans.
Reiner is reprising his onscreen role as documentarian Martin “Marty” Dibergi in Spinal Tap 2, with the film’s original cast of Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer also returning to play frontman David St. Hubbins, guitarist Nigel Tufnel and bassist Derek Smalls. As any Spinal Tap fan knows, finding a percussionist will be an issue, as the band tends to lose their drummers to freak gardening accidents and other mishaps.
Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks have also signed on for cameo appearances in the new film. The plot of Spinal Tap 2 has the iconic English hair metal rockers reuniting for one final concert.

Viewers tuning in for the recent Good Morning America episodes haven’t seen Robin Roberts as part of the trio of anchors at the desk.
A replacement anchor filled in for Roberts on the last three installments of ABC’s morning show, assisting Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos, and others with featured news stories.
Meanwhile, Roberts is having fun away from the show based on recent reveals and segments.
During a GMA episode last week, she shared her travel plans, which included an interview in Iowa with college basketball star Caitlin Clark, the new all-time points leader for NCAA Division I.
While in Iowa, the longtime TV host and anchor indicated she was headed to Nashville, Tennessee. She later revealed she was partying and having fun with married country music legends Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
Taking to her Instagram, Roberts shared a video clip with some behind-the-scenes footage from her GMA assignment in Nashville.

Garth Brooks was really looking ahead this time. He and his wife, the “She’s In Love With The Boy” singer, Trisha Yearwood, have covered as many bases as possible when it comes to Brooks’ new bar in Nashville, Tennessee. They have the booze. They have a dance floor. And, yes, they even have a fully-staffed police substation next door.
The New Nashville Police Substation
Right next door to Garth Brooks’ new bar, The Friends In Low Places Bar, is a brand new police substation. He and his wife paid to have the substation built there.
“I want it to be a place you feel safe in. I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another,” Brooks stated. “And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are.”
