Disney is continuing its slate of live-action fairy tale adaptations with a movie focused on Prince Charming.
There's no word on whether the prince in question will be related to Snow White or Cinderella as yet, but the script apparently offers a "revisionist take on the fairy tales", according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Matt Fogel has penned the script, alongside David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films, and Tripp Vinson in the producer seats. Alex Young will serve as executive producer.
The idea follows the success of the recent Cinderella live-action remake, as well as Maleficent.
Richard Madden played Prince Charming in Cinderella, while Chris Pine also took the part in Into the Woods.
Disney has several other live-action remakes in the pipeline too, including The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan, Pinnochio and more.
Watch the trailer for the live-action Cinderella below:...

As Stacey Snider gets closer to leaving DreamWorks to take a senior position under 20th Century Fox Film chairman/CEO Jim Gianopulos, questions have been rampant about the role for Tcf production president Emma Watts, who led the studio to its most killer summer in a long time. Gianopulos has answered some of those questions by staking Watts to a new three year deal.
“Emma is a proven and extremely talented production executive who has consistently led her division to great success, most recently through her stellar contributions to our remarkable summer slate,” Gianopulos said. “We look forward to her continuing contributions to our creative achievements in the years ahead.”
Last month, Fox became the first studio to pass $1 billion in domestic box office – and $3 billion worldwide – fueled by The Other Woman, the $730 million global grosser X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, the...

After helming Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger to widespread acclaim, director Joe Johnston is returning to his sci-fi roots for an upcoming alien invasion thriller. Johnston, who got his start as an effects artist and arts director on the original Star Wars trilogy, has signed on to helm Extinction, a sci-fi thriller about a man trying to save his family in the face of an alien invasion.
Described as a “contained sci-fi thriller,” Extinction boasts a script by Spenser Cohen, an up-and-coming screenwriter who previously sold three spec scripts to major studios between 2011 and 2012. Good Universe, which preemptively picked up Extinction last September, compared the project to The Sixth Sense and Cloverfield, though the studio is keeping details on the story tightly under wraps. All I can imagine “contained” to mean is low-budget, so Extinction will likely have a quick shoot and get out to a studio within the next 12 to 18 months.

Shawn Ryan has revealed his planned plot for a movie based on The Shield.
The FX drama series - starring Michael Chiklis as corrupt cop Vic Mackey - drew to a close in 2008 after seven seasons.
"I don't want to tease fans, because if there is a movie it wouldn't be really like the show," series creator Ryan told Mandatory.
"I think people should stop hoping for some kind of Shield reunion, but Michael and I had been talking about a movie prior to season seven."
Ryan explained that he had pitched the movie to Fox executives Jim Gianopulos and Alex Young when The Shield originally wrapped.
"The idea was about a young cop who enters the drug gang culture of La and becomes frustrated by his inability to take it down," the writer/produced explained.

Here's a hefty rumor for your Tuesday afternoon: the upcoming sixth installment of the "Die Hard" franchise is being called "Die Hardest" — at least, for the time being.
According to Total Film, the working title for "Die Hard 6" is "Die Hardest." The site reports that Ben Trebilcook, who wrote a treatment for "Die Hard 4" as well, is penning the "Die Hard 6" script.
Interestingly enough, the "Die Hard 4" spec script Trebilcook wrote was also reportedly called "Die Hardest," so this could just be a placeholder title. The "Die Hard" franchise has gotten plenty of flak for its punny titles, so hopefully someone involved can come up with something a bit more clever than "Die Hardest."
According to the Total Film report, "Die Hard 6" will begin in New York but then will be set predominantly in Tokyo. Trebilcook told the site that his take on "Die Hard" will please fans.

Spanish filmmaker Daniel Benmayor ("Paintball," "Bruc") has been hired to direct a sequel to the 2007 video game-based action feature "Hitman" for 20th Century Fox reports Deadline.
Xavier Gens directed the original $30 million film which starred Timothy Olyphant as the bald assassin Agent 47, a film which went on to gross $100 million worldwide. Whether or not Olyphant will return is still unclear but there's an option on him to return.
Story details will borrow from the video game "Hitman 5" in which a beaten Agent 47 must build himself back psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as world’s most feared assassin.
Daniel Casey has penned the most recent draft of the sequel, taking over scripting duties from Kyle Ward. Adrian Askarieh, Alex Young and Chuck Gordon will return as producers. Shooting could kick off as early as this Fall.

A few months ago we mentioned that Die Hard 5 would happen and that was straight from Bruce Willis’ mouth to our ears. The star of the franchise mentioned the working plan was to take John McClane and put him in a more global setting. Now the screenwriter for the film has been set to tackle such venture with Skip Woods set to write.

Fox executive Debbie Liebling is in talks to step into the position of head of production at Universal Pictures, the seat vacated by Donna Langley, who was promoted to Universal Pictures' co-chairman.
