Updated 11:15 Am: Whitney Cummings will not be back as executive producer/co-showrunner of Roseanne for the show’s 13-episode eleventh season, with executive producer/co-showrunner Bruce Helford taking the reigns as the sole showrunner.
“Whitney just had too much on her plate to commit,” Helford told Deadline. “But she’s always a part of the Roseanne family.”
Cummings later confirmed the news on Twitter. “Working on Roseanne was a surreal, incredible experience,” she wrote. “Due to work commitments and my tour schedule, I’m gonna have to watch the Connors from the sidelines next season. It was an honor to work with such an incredible group of actors, writers and crew. Harry Levin, you can stop calling my cell phone now.”
Returning as writers on the show are Wanda Sykes and Norm MacDonald as well as veteran Roseanne alumni Bruce Rasmussen, Dave Caplan, Sid Youngers and Betsy Borns, all...

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for “Roseanne” Season 10 Episode 3, “Roseanne Gets the Chair.]
In Tuesday’s new episode of “Roseanne,” “Roseanne Gets the Chair,” Roseanne and Dan Conner (Roseanne Barr and John Goodman) find themselves in a situation any hardworking couple of a certain age has experienced: Waking up from an unplanned nap on the couch, disoriented and shocked to have dozed through the entire evening.
“What time is it? Did I miss dinner?” Dan asks.
“It’s 11,” Roseanne says. “We slept from ‘Wheel’ to ‘Kimmel.'”
“We missed all the shows about black and Asian families,” Dan says.
“They’re just like us,” she says. “There, now you’re all caught up.”
Yep, credited writer Sid Youngers and the producers of “Roseanne” chose, with just their third episode on the air, to get snarky towards parent network ABC, the channel Dan and Roseanne clearly fell asleep watching (given the mention of “Jimmy Kimmel Live”). However,...

The Roseanne revival is almost here!
The cast of the upcoming series reunited for their first table read of the season on Tuesday, just in time for the 29th anniversary of the show's original premiere on Oct. 18, 1988. The series ran for nine years until 1997, so it's fitting that the first episode of the revival is titled "Twenty Years of Life."
Returning cast members Laurie Metcalf, Roseanne Barr, Michael Fishman, Sarah Chalke, Lecy Goranson, John Goodman and Sarah Gilbert were all smiles at the table read, as they were joined by director John Pasquin, executive producers Bruce Helford, Tony Hernandez and Whitney Cummings and co-executive producer Sid Youngers. Barr and Gilbert also serve as executive producers.
Additions to the cast include Jayden Rey, Ames McNamara (Darlene and David's son, Mark) and Emma Kenney (Darlene and David's daughter, Harris).

“Whereeeeeee’s Johnny?” are among the handful of words that come to mind upon glimpsing the first photos from the set of ABC’s forthcoming Roseanne revival.
The network on Tuesday released a pair of images (see below) from the comedy’s inaugural table read, and the gang is mostly all there… with the exception of co-star Johnny Galecki (David), whose participation in the eight-episode continuation remains up in the air due to his commitment to The Big Bang Theory. Last month, Galecki’s Roseanne wife Sara Gilbert, who serves as an Ep on the revival, told TVLine, “We are...
