Ask any real vampire fan to name 5 bloodsuckers that rate a 10 on the creepy-meter and inevitably Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be on that list. In 1997 Juliet Landau and James Marsters roared into Sunnydale as Drusilla and Spike, a pair of wicked vampire lovers who were out to do the Slayer and Scoobies a whole world of harm. Though their plans never worked out, our devotion to Dru and Spike endured, and fans have always grumbled that we didn’t get more Dru in the long running Buffyverse franchises.
Dark Horse Comics looks to rectify that oversite this June. Probably one of the most memorable villains from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the unhinged vampire Drusilla, portrayed by Juliet Landau, will be making her return to the Buffy universe in an upcoming issue of comic spin off Angel and Faith. This appearance leads into a five issue mini series, written by Landau, and will ship in June from Dark Horse Comics.
As revealed by Entertainment Weekly, the spin off will pick up right after her appearance in Angel and Faith #9. The series will be drawn by artists Cliff Richards (Omac Project, New Thunderbolts) and Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash, Ant-Man & Wasp), who Landau is working “very closely” with on the visual style of the series. This is not her first time writing for a comic, having co-written a Drusilla centric arc in the previous Angel series, After The Fall, but it will be her first time she will tackle the insane blood sucker on her own.

Writer: Tim Seeley Penciller: Victor Drujiniu Colorist: Andrew Dalhouse Cover Artist: Steve Morris
Synopsis: With spell-crazed hit mages and the malevolent serpentine demon known as the Swordbreaker hot on his tail, it’s a steep learning curve for the Occultist, who must master the powerful magic of the Sword–or suffer at the hands of numerous sorcerous enemies. But is our hero wielding this enigmatic weapon, or is it the one in control?
The first issue of Tim Seeley‘s The Occultist left our hero with a nasty humanoid serpent known as the Swordbreaker on his trail and balls deep in trouble with gaggle of mystical bounty hunters that wished to separate him from The Sword: a magical entity that had chosen to bond with college student Rob Bailey turning him into the new Occultist. Issue #2 is as fun as #1 of this three-part story, with crude, hormone-driven humor and gorgeous artwork.

Synopsis: While harnessing his new powers as the Occultist, college student Rob Bailey must defend himself and those around him from a series of hired Hit mages with unique magical abilities and a serpentine demon known as the Swordbreaker, all determined to kill him and to possess the powerful spell book known as the Sword!
Hot off the heels of the 2010 one-shot of the same name, The Occultist #1 finds college student Rob Bailey in way over his head: girls, exams, and a gaggle of mystical bounty hunters that want to pry the Sword from his cold, dead hand.
I’m a big fan of occult themed comics. Hellblazer, The Books of Magic, and Sandman are some of my favorite books of all time, and The Occultist follows in their footsteps while offering something unique and quite charming.

Joss Whedon talked about another season of Buffy at his panel yesterday and hinted at a few other cool additions. He will bring Buffy the Vampire Slayer back for it's 9th season (in comic book form, just like S8) and this time he's recruited a co-writer. Andrew Chambliss (Vampire Diaries, Heroes) will join Whedon who's no stranger to these universes as he was one of the witers for Whedon's Dollhouse and is the current Dollhouse comic book scribe.
Chambliss had a few things to say to the BuffyFest Blog about the Buffy Season 9 gig;
“It may seem the obvious choice, but I’m going to have to say Buffy,” he told Buffyfest. “Going into season 9, she’s in a really interesting place – she always thought she was going to die saving the world, but now that she actually survived, she has to face her real life (don’t worry, they...

Dark Horse Comics' "Dollhouse: Epitaphs" (One Shot), continuing the "Dollhouse" TV series created by Joss Whedon, is available March 30, 2011, written by Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon, with illustrations by Cliff Richards and variant covers by Phil Noto and Steve Morris.
Having written the final "Dollhouse" TV series episode, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon now continue the tale of three survivors in a world overcome by a devastating technological virus :"The wealthy and powerful could buy any kind of companionship at the 'Dollhouses', where the 'Rossum Corporation' paid young people to have their minds wiped clean and be imprinted with computer-enhanced personalities and skills--all according to a buyer's request.
"Now the technology has gone viral, wiping the minds of everyone it reached, turning them into mindless butchers.
"Those who've avoided the call must try to survive their friends and families if they hope to destroy Rossum and save the world.

Joss Whedon will continue the story of Echo (Eliza Dushku) and Dollhouse in commic book form. Whedon along with Maurissa Tancharoen will write the comic book story picking up where "Epitaph One" left off, 10 years in the future with mass imprinting happening. Dark Horse will release the one-shot in March and will be followed by a mini-series. The one-shot is illustrated by Cliff Richards with covers by Phil Noto and Steve Morris. Whedon and Tancharoen told Cbr this; "In the additional material, we'll reveal what happens to the established characters in the minicomic when their lives eventually intersect, Probably. That's probably what will happen, though we're scared to say for certain." Following the "Epitaphs" issue and its depiction of the near-future disaster's origins, the writers said that the upcoming "Dollhouse" miniseries "picks up where we left off." Earlier this week, we spoke to "Dollhouse" actress Eliza Dushku about the recent release of the second season of Joss Whedon's over-too-soon Fox series on DVD and Blu-Ray. While we were chatting the actress up about the show, we couldn't help asking for an update on the comics side of the "Dollhouse" universe, too.
In the end, it turns out that there was some confusion all around when it came to "Dollhouse" comics, so today we went straight to the source for clarification on the series' past, present, and future in the comics world: Dark Horse Comics editor Scott Allie.
The main man behind the growing Whedonverse presence at Dark Horse, Allie offered up a complete breakdown of what's out now, what's coming up, and where it all fits in the greater "Dollhouse" mythology. Oh, and it's probably not a spoiler to say that the story is far from...
