The Clare Crawley Backlash Has Begun, but Does the Bachelorette Deserve the Criticism?

The Clare Crawley Backlash Has Begun, but Does the Bachelorette Deserve the Criticism?
With Clare Crawley's stint on The Bachelorette already almost over, the big question that remains is whether or not she's been a good Bachelorette. It's a complicated question with a complicated answer. She's been treated with unusually harsh standards, but there's also been so much drama in so little time that it's hard not to think that at least some of it comes from the tone she's set. Has it even been good TV? I'm honestly not sure.

On the one hand, there does seem to be something of a double standard that's behind the criticisms of Clare - as there all too often is during Bachelorette seasons. A lot of criticism has been heaped on Week 2's "sexy dodgeball" date, calling it objectifying and too forcefully sexualized. On the other hand, though, I don't recall similarly loud complaints about the pillow fight and lingerie fashion show episode from

Kaitlyn Bristowe cried after Carrie Ann Inaba’s harsh ‘Dancing with the Stars’ comments: ‘I felt so defeated’
Kaitlyn Bristowe is still taken aback by Carrie Ann Inaba‘s remark that she “gave up” during her “Dancing with the Stars” performance Monday night.

“To hear that, I felt so defeated after. That was my all. I know I could have done better in some places, but I don’t feel like I ever gave up,” Bristowe told “People, revealing that she cried after the show. “I’m not a big girl and I cried in the corner after that. I cried a little bit, but that’s Ok. I want to get better. I want to learn.”

The former Bachelorette and Artem Chigvintsev closed Villains Night with a “101 Dalmatians”-themed paso doble, earning a wide range of comments from the judges. The harshest came from Inaba, who also told Bristowe, “I felt like your spirit dropped.” The couple scored a 24, the second lowest score of the night.

‘The Bachelorette’ Participant Luke Parker Ordered To Pay $100,000 To Show Producers
Former The Bachelorette suitor Luke Parker is on the hook for $100,000 for breaching a contract with the show’s producers.

Et reported that Nzk Productions Inc., the company that produced the dating series for ABC, filed a petition against the former contestant in May. In September, judge David Sotelo approved the company’s request to charge Parker for $100,000 for violating contract terms, which outlined that the reality TV contestant was not to make unauthorized media appearances from the contract sign date in January 2019 to the season finale air date in July 2020.

From September 2019 to October 2019, Parker made multiple unauthorized media appearances. In addition to the press appearances, Parker further went against contract by speaking negatively about The Bachelorette and production.

Parker appeared in season 15 of The Bachelorette, which featured Hannah Brown. The 2019 season of the ABC show saw Jed Wyatt win the show.

‘Dancing with the Stars’: Kaitlyn Bristowe wasn’t sure she’d be able to perform in week 2, but she crushed it anyway [Watch]
Kaitlyn Bristowe knows a thing or two about reality TV drama, having come from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” She brought some of that to week two of “Dancing with the Stars” where she nursed an injury only to close the show with the performance of the night. What did you think of her foxtrot? Watch it above.

Early on in the show host Tyra Banks told the viewing audience that Bristowe was experiencing pain in her ankle and wasn’t sure she’d be able to perform. That was kind of a relief to hear, actually, because for a second I thought Banks was going to announce that someone in the cast was diagnosed with Covid. Banks checked in with Bristowe’s pro partner Artem Chigvintsev later in the evening, but it wasn’t until the end of the night that Bristowe confirmed that the show must go on.

Nope, Tom Bergeron will not rage out against Tyra Banks: ‘Nothing against’ the new ‘Dancing with the Stars’ host

Nope, Tom Bergeron will not rage out against Tyra Banks: ‘Nothing against’ the new ‘Dancing with the Stars’ host
Needless to say, “Dancing with the Stars” fans are not happy that Tyra Banks replaced Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as host, but he has nothing against the supermodel — and he’s definitely not going to rage out about it, even if he’s in a literal position to do so.

On Sunday, Bergeron shared on Instagram a photo and video of him at Rage Ground, a rage room where he destroyed a bunch of “s#i+” to take out his 2020 frustrations.

“When the gym is closed…and the hiking trails are closed…and Mitch McConnell becomes the Guinness Book Poster Boy for hypocrites…it’s time to smash s#i+!! ” Bergeron captioned the post.

In the comments, one fan wrote, “Can you throw some bottles at a Tyra Banks poster?”

Kaitlyn Bristowe is ‘pretending’ not to think about following in Hannah Brown’s winning footsteps on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Kaitlyn Bristowe is ‘pretending’ not to think about following in Hannah Brown’s winning footsteps on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Hannah Brown became the first Bachelorette to win “Dancing with the Stars” last season, and don’t think Kaitlyn Bristowe hasn’t thought about making it two in a row — even if she’s acting like it.

The Season 11 “Bachelorette” star is “pretending” not to acknowledge the possibility of extending Bachelor Nation’s reign on the dance floor to keep the pressure off herself, she told “Entertainment Tonight.” “Alan [Bersten] was Hannah’s partner, and he also is a great partner, and they got high scores, so could it be back-to-back Mirrorballs? Who knows?” she said.

“I agree that is a bit of a pressure, but it is a reactive audience,” her partner Artem Chigvintsev added. “If the audience decides this is the one that should be holding the Mirrorball trophy, than this is the one.”

‘Dancing with the Stars’: The sky’s the limit for Skai Jackson after this breakout tango during the season premiere [Watch]
Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson is aiming to make history as one of the youngest champs in “Dancing with the Stars” history, and the 18-year-old is off to a great start. During the season premiere she showed off her flexibility and her rhythm with a tango that put her at the very top of the leaderboard. Watch it above.

Jackson played the character of Zuri Ross on “Jessie” and its followup series “Bunk’d” for a combined seven years, so she has performance experience well beyond her years, and very early in her routine with pro partner Alan Bersten she did a split that made judge Derek Hough instantly take notice. He was impressed by how clean her routine was, and Bruno Tonioli, who never met a pun he didn’t like, told her, “The sky is the limit.”
