One of my favourite UK distributors, ranking up there with Arrow Video and Shameless, are 88 Films. The company, whilst relatively new to the UK scene, have hit the ground running – releasing a handful of fantastic 80s horror flicks to DVD, including: Tourist Trap, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama and The Pit and the Pendulum.
Well now the good folks at 88 Films have announced their next batch of Full Moon titles set for DVD (and also Blu-Ray, yes!) in July and August. Streeting on July 30th is The Dead Want Women and following on August 20th is the original Puppet Master movie – and not only is it being released on DVD it’s also coming on Blu-ray too!

With a comic book-styled poster, horror comedy short The Code sees a couple's date go badly wrong when they are attacked by flesh-eating zombies.
But an apparent scheduling mishap with a chainsaw killer, a vampire and Bigfoot puts a whole new slant on the night.
Director Mark Blitch's six-minute, blood-slobbering monster mash-up won 11 awards at Houston's Splatterfest including best film, director, screenplay, editing, kill, splatter and special effects; and audience favourite film, story, kill and make-up.
The full video for The Code, starring Tamara Voss, Taylor James Brandt, Todd Terry and Daylon Walton, is embedded below. There's also an official Facebook page.
More gore is being spilled, this time of the Germanic variety, in Marc Rohnstock's Necronos.
Two new promo pictures have been released as a taster for the movie. One is rather gruesomely graphic, even with the already-censored areas blacked out; the other is included below.

Two brand new promo pics have been released as a taster for German filmmaker Marc Rohnstock’s very raunchy Necronos. After venturing a couple of European film festivals in 2011 such as Weekend of Fear and Indigo Film Fest in Germany and But (B-Movie Underground and Trash) Film Festival in Holland. The film has seen it’s first DVD release – although so far only in the German speaking countries via the DVD label Laser Paradise who are widely known for releasing unrated and uncensored films.
Written and directed by Marc Rohnstock and produced by Lars Rohnstock, the film features an impressive cast of the top of the crop in European independent horror cinema: Manoush, Timo Fuchs, Thomas Sender, Mario Zimmerschitt, Thomas Kercmar, Tanja Karius, Timo Rose, Marcel Walz, Kim Sønderholm, Timo Fuchs, Annika Strauss, Chris Vazquez, Nadine Trautwein, Andreas Schnaas, Jochen Taubert, Martin Hentschel, Andreas Pape, Rod Usher, hardcore porn star Luna B. and many,...

I seems like only yesterday (read: 6 days ago) that I posted a plethora of images from writer/director Marc Rohnstock’s upcoming German splatter epic “Necronos: Tower of Doom” here at Beyond Hollywood. Nipping at the shredded heels of that little promotional maneuver comes the “censored” trailer for the aforementioned horror outing, a clip that promises the follow elements: splatter, gore, fantasy, horror, blood, and nudity. From the looks of things, the filmmakers have delivered the goods. Timo Rose and Olaf Ittenbach should be extremely proud. I’m a pretty sick and twisted individual, so, naturally, I’m excited to see it. In case you missed it the first time, here’s the synopsis: Necronos, one of the mightiest minions of the devil himself has come to earth to create an invincible army of the undead under leadership of barbaric demons, called Berzerkers. Germany's Infernal Films, led by the Rohnstock Brothers, is about to thrust its new gory and exceptionally violent film Necronos onto the world, and we have a look at two posters and a few screenshots from the flick along with the synopsis.
Necronos, one of the mightiest minions of the devil himself, has come to earth to create an invincible army of the undead under leadership of barbaric demons called Berzerkers. To achieve his goal, Necronos needs numerous, often very macabre and difficult to come by, ingredients. So Satan sends him two assistants to achieve his goal - Goran, a blood demon and footman loyal to Necronos, as well as The Mighty Witch to locate the chosen one - a virgin witch.

Are werewolves the new zombies? Well, with the recent success of Zombieland, zombies are still the new zombies. But every few years, we seem to be subjected to a spate of werewolf projects. We’ve got the troubled remake of the Wolf Man coming up with Benicio del Toro, for one thing. Vampire fiction seems practically overrun with werewolves as side characters or enemies. The cult reputation of the Ginger Snaps trilogy continues to grow. And the low budget horror scene has a bit of full moon fever, with Beast- ahem, Timo Rose’s Beast...

Germany’s Timo Rose gave Fango the exclusive first look at the latest trailer for his new gorefest Game Over (see it below), and shared the news about his next project, Karl The Butcher Vs. Axe, which reteams him with fellow Teutonic terrorizer Andreas Schnaas. Game Over stars Fangoria Radio’s Debbie Rochon (pictured), Raine Brown from Rose’s Barricade and Nicola Fiore as three American friends who are kidnapped and tortured when the latter two visit Rochon’s character in Germany.
Go here to read Rose and Rochon’s comments on Game Over, which has a MySpace presence here. As for Karl The Butcher Vs. No, we don’t mean it’s a trailer that’s unrated (though that’s also true)—German goreslinger Timo Rose (pictured) has given Fango the first peek at the preview for Unrated, his first collaboration with fellow countryman/filmmaker Andreas Schnaas. You can check out the clip below.
Unrated, which we first told you about here, looks to be quite a monster mash of horrific villains, with a heavy dose of Jean Rollin-inspired imagery as well. We’ll keep you posted on when the finished movie is ready to be unleashed!

Director Timo Rose dropped us a line recently with the latest trailer for his upcoming indie splatterfest Game Over, and it's so depraved that we just had to share!
So what is Game Over about, you ask? In a recent interview with Fangoria Timo gave them the skinny:
"The story is about Tina [to be played by Debbie Rochon], a young actress who left the States for Germany — she fell in love, so she left for a man,” Rose tells Fango. “Two good friends of hers come over to visit Tina for her birthday—but the next 24 hours will be very brutal, as the three are kidnapped by a sadistic maniac. He plays brutal and primitive games with them, and every attempt they make to escape leads them deeper into hell! This will be the nastiest movie I’ve ever done; we’re creating special effects scenes that will be bloody as hell.”
Ok. We're in!

German filmmaker Timo Rose gave Fango the exclusive first look at the teaser for his latest flick, Game Over (which we first reported on here). You can check out the splattery preview below.
Rose reports that the movie is currently in production, and is even more explicit than originally conceived. “I’ve changed the script,” he tells us, “and it is even more bloody and disturbing. I added tons of gore, torture scenes, etc. Lloyd Kaufman and Troma are now co-producing this flick, along with Uncut Movies from France.”
Originally announced Debbie Rochon has been joined in the cast by Raine Brown and Nicola Fiore, “and I’ll play a small role too,” Rose adds. “Horror director Mike Mendez may make a special appearance too, as he did in [Rose’s previous movie] Beast; he said yes to that, but we’ll see.” Rose’s MySpace page for Game Over can be found here.

Writer/director Joe Davison (100 Tears) is working with Timo Rose (Beast) on this old skool sounding Pa flick we reported on back in January. It's just started lensing down in Tampa, Florida with a cast of Candice Rojas, Rod Grant, Raine Brown, Jack Amos, Dwight Cenac and Alan Rowe Kelly. There's still several more weeks of shooting including some up in NYC, but word is they'll have a trailer for soon. In the meantime, you can check out their myspace.
The story concerns Dr. Felix Copper, a scientist in a postapocalyptic world attempting to find a cure for the radiation poisoning that has blighted the planet. He runs into a couple of survivalists and then a supermodel-turned-weapons expert, and together they battle vicious mutants to try to save mankind.

Writer/director/actor Joe Davison got in touch with an update and a few exclusive photos (which you can see below) from his new feature Experiment 7, which we previously reported on here and is currently lensing in the Tampa, Florida area. The saga of scientists and survivalists vs. mutants in a postapocalyptic world reteams him with numerous collaborators from his previous 100 Tears, as well as his Fearmakers and Beast co-star Timo Rose.
“The shoot is going well,” Davison tells us. “Candice Rojas, who plays the heroine Aco, is getting quite a workout having to do full-on fights and stunts and fire Ak-47s, hand pistols and a rocket launcher or sorts. She told me, ‘I’m excited! I called my mom after I fired the Ak for the first time,’ after what we have dubbed ‘the extraction scene.’

German goremeister Timo Rose sent along an exclusive clip from his new movie Beast, featuring an extremely grisly nighttime forest attack on hapless humans by a marauding werewolf. You can take in the splatterific scene below the cut.

Joe Davison, star of 100 Tears (review), Fearmakers and more indie horrors, has just announced his debut as both writer and director. It’s called Experiment 7 and will feature a virtual who’s-who of the indie scene, including directorial pieces shot by two other well-known indie horror helmers.
First, some plot: Dr. Felix Copper is a dedicated scientist who has vowed to save mankind. And in the post nuclear world he just might be its only hope. While traveling through the devastated ruins of city after city he teams up with two unlikely heroes, Sam and William, two survivalists who have made it a habit of saving him from the onslaught of mutants that constantly get in their way. It isn’t until they meet Aco, a supermodel turned weapons expert, that they realize their full potential and really start to get the upper hand. Now Dr. Copper just may be...

• Dark Sky Films has announced a pair of vintage chillers debuting April 28. The company passed on cover art and details for 1966’s The She-beast and 1974’s The Centerfold Girls.
She-beast, the debut feature by writer/director Michael Reeves of The Conqueror Worm/Witchfinder General, stars genre veterans Barbara Steele and Ian Ogilvy as newlyweds who get into a car accident while driving through a town in Transylvania. Their vehicle winds up submerged in a lake, and while the husband emerges as himself, his wife comes out possessed by the vengeful spirit of an 18th-century witch. The movie will be presented in a new 16x9-enhanced widescreen transfer from original vault materials, with audio commentary by Steele, Ogilvy and producer Paul Maslansky. John Peyser’s Centerfold Girls, starring B-movie stalwart Andrew Prine as a madman “punishing” women who have posed for a men’s magazine, also gets a new uncut transfer from the original camera negative,...

Joe Davison, writer/producer/star of the killer-clown opus 100 Tears and actor in numerous other independent genre flicks, sent along word about a new project he has written and will direct called Experiment 7. The cast is a Who’s Who of familiar faces from indie fright fare.
Davison will also appear in the film alongside Tears co-stars Rod Grant, Raine (Barricade) Brown and Jack Amos, plus Candice Rojas, Dwight Cenac, actor/filmmaker Alan Rowe (The Blood Shed) Kelly and German goremeister Timo Rose, with whom Davison shares the screen in Fearmakers and the upcoming Beast. The story concerns Dr. Felix Copper (Grant), a scientist in a postapocalyptic world attempting to find a cure for the radiation poisoning that has blighted the planet. He runs into a couple of survivalists (Davison and Cenac) and then a supermodel-turned-weapons expert (!) played by Rojas, and together they battle vicious mutants to try to save mankind.

Fango got word from a source who would know that two of the most notorious German genre directors are about to collaborate. Timo Rose (pictured) and Andreas Schnaas will co-direct a movie with the working title of Unrated, set to lens in their home country in March.
No relation to German filmmaker Frank Montag’s Uncut (which recently filmed in NYC), Unrated is described as “an English-language supernatural flick with ghosts, demons and Timo and Andreas’ requisite gore.” Rose’s credits include Barricade, The Fearmakers and the upcoming Beast, while Schnaas has helmed the likes of the Violent Shit flicks, Demonium, Nikos The Impaler and the new Don’T Wake The Dead. We’ll bring you any Unrated updates we find out!

The wait is over, horror fans! The composer for Dario Argento’s next movie, Giallo, has finally been announced! You can rest easy tonight knowing that yes, Argento’s next film will have a score!
Sorry, got a bit carried away. Anyway, said composer’s name is Marco Werba, whose previous works include the indie films Darkness Surrounds Roberta and Timo Rose’s Fearmakers and Beast. Wow, from working with Timo Rose to working with Dario Argento? Not a bad move at all!
Giallo is the story of an American detective (Adrien Brody) who teams with an American stewardess (Emmanuelle Seigner) to find the girl’s sister, who’s been abducted by a serial killer known only as “Yellow”. And as long as Argento avoids using midgets or monkeys in this one, it might be worth watching!

Upcoming Film Scores reports that Spanish composer Marco Werba (pictured) has been tapped to score Dario Argento’s Giallo. Werba begins recording the music for the Italian maestro’s latest this Friday with members of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
Giallo, scripted by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, is Argento’s own homage to the murderous subgenre he helped create in the ’70s, and follows an Italian detective (Adrien Brody) as he helps an American stewardess rescue the latter’s sister, who has been kidnapped by a serial killer called “Yellow.” Emmanuelle (The Ninth Gate) Seigner, Elsa (Snakes On A Plane) Pataky and Robert Miano also star. Werba has experience on the giallo side of the genre, having provided the score for Giovanni Pianigiani’s recent Darkness Surrounds Roberta; he also did the music for Timo Rose’s Fearmakers and upcoming werewolfilm Beast. You can find out more about those movies...

All right, a werewolf story! No one told me Timo Rose’s follow-up to Barricade was a freakin’ werewolf story! It’s called Beast, and today a source close to its production sent us a look at the film’s poster and some behind-the-scenes shots from the set, which you can feast upon below!
In Beast, the lovely Raine Browne stars as Amy, a young woman dealing with the unwanted return of her brother, Alex (Joe Zaso), who comes back with more than the usual amount of baggage; he’s now carrying around a lycanthropic curse. Joe Davison (100 Tears) stars alongside Rose himself as werewolf hunters hot on Alex’s trail. There are also cameos by Night of the Living Dead’s Judith O’Dea and Gravedancers director Mike Mendez!
Of course, as with all werewolf films the look of the titular beast will be the hinge upon which the...
