In this film made in 1957, J.S.Bhownagary presents the legend of Krishna and Radha among his other lovers through miniature paintings belonging to the Pahari tradition. Through the deframing of the images by using the camera lens and the music of V. Shirali, Ali Akbar and Ravi Shankar, the film is a poetic retelling of the love between Krishna and Radha.

The Indian Documentary Producers Association (Idpa) will organize screenings of documentaries and short films every Sunday at the P.L. Deshpande Mini Auditorium, Kala Academy, Prabhadevi in Mumbai.
The screenings will be organized in association with Dada Saheb Phalke Film City & P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy.
The films will be curated by the Idpa and have to be sent to the Idpa office to be included.
The screenings will be open to all Documentaries & Short films and not just films made by Idpa members.
The first screening was held on Sunday, May 5 where The King Of Romance, Shammi Kapoor by Suresh Sharma, The Saroj Khan Story by Nidhi Tuli and Music Composer Ravi & His Last Composition by Suresh Sharma were screened.

The screening of the Chinese film, ’11 Flowers’, the latest production of the well-known director Xioshuai Wang, will throw open the 10th Third Eye Film Festival at the Ravindra Natya Mandi, Prabhadevi, at 6.30 p.m. on December 22.
The film, which marks its Indian premiere at the Festival, is about the dilemma of an 11-year-old boy after his chance meeting with a runaway murderer.
The Festival this year is being dedicated to the fond memories of Bollywood’s inimitable star and filmmaker of 65-year standing, Dev Anand, who passed away in London on December 3. As a gesture of paying tribute him, his memorable film, ‘Guide’ will be shown.

The 10th Third Eye Asian Film Festival will take place in Mumbai from December 22-29, 2011. The P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy has joined hands with Asian Film Foundation to host the festival this year.
According to Festival Director, Sudhir Nandgaonkar, over 400 entries have been received from different Asian Countries including Iran, China, Japan, Israel, Philippines and Indonesia. Out of these, 100 feature films and 50 short films will be shown during the week-long festival.
Ravindra Natya Mandir at Prabhadevi will be the main venue for the festival. The selected films will also be shown in Thane, Nandgaonkar said.
Films will be screened under the sections—Spectrum Asia, First/Second Film Competition, Short Film Competition, Focus on one Asian country and Retrospective.
