“Shōgun” is officially in the drama race for the Primetime Emmys.
FX has confirmed that the once limited or anthology series heavyweight has been officially submitted and accepted in the drama categories, where it will compete against Netflix’s “The Crown,” Apple’s “The Morning Show” and Prime Video’s “Fallout.” In addition, the network has shared exclusively with Variety the complete list of 40 Emmy submissions, which includes six submissions for directing, four for writing, and two eligible guest actors. HBO’s “Game of Thrones” currently holds the record for most nominations in a single year with 32. Could FX break the monumental record?
Following the announcement that FX, Hulu, and the estate of James Clavell — who authored the novel — are working on developing more seasons of the critically acclaimed series, “Shōgun” is now officially eligible to compete in the drama races after being commissioned as limited. The move puts the...

Netflix’s Selling the Oc is returning for Season 3 on May 3 and the trailer previews the upcoming drama that will continue shaking things up on the reality series.
The new season of the Selling Sunset spinoff continues with the same cast, including Kayla Cardona, Alexandra Jarvis, Brandi Marshall, Polly Brindle, Alex Hall, Gio Helou, Alexandra Rose, Tyler Stanaland, Austin Victoria, Sean Palmieri, and Jason Oppenheim.
Last season, Alexandra Harper was introduced to audiences, and by the end of Season 2, she was given the opportunity to join the Oppenheim Group. However, things seem to be a little rocky for the real estate agent, with Oppenheim saying, “She has not developed the experience that she should have at this stage of the game.”
The romantic drama between Hall and Stanaland that affected the latter’s marriage to his wife Brittany Snow, continues in Season 3.

As Good Morning America opened for its latest episode, Robin Roberts was absent from the desk.
Instead, viewers saw her regular co-anchors, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopolous, joined by Rebecca Jarvis.
Jarvis previously replaced Roberts during other GMA absences, including work trips for assignments in Iowa and Tennessee.
In this latest instance, Roberts had another excellent reason for missing the ABC morning program as she had some fun in the sun.
Several days ago, she shared an intriguing message about the “demands of work” and later hinted that she had traveled away from GMA but had a flight delay.
However, a new social media post arrived, showing that Roberts was enjoying the warm and sunny Bahamas with several friends.

Marvel’s dark new vision of the Avengers set in the far-flung future is portrayed in the comic book; Avengers: Twilight by writer Chip Zdarksy and artist Daniel Acuna. The comic book is set in a dystopic future decades after H-Day: Hero Day, which is a national tragedy and a day of reckoning for the superhero community that leveled up and killed hundreds, including Spider-Man and the Hulk.

In the Avengers: Twilight #3, James Stark debuts his own Iron Man armor which reportedly surpasses his father’s original suit. The character goes ahead and sets up a tragic dynamic for the comic book’s final stretch.

Many iconic characters have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since the release of Iron Man back in 2008. However, not many characters have been able to make as huge an impact on the franchise as Tony Stark has.

Even though he is considered one of the most intelligent characters in the Marvel Universe, it seems like Stark was allegedly too lazy to come up with a creative full form for Jarvis.
Tony Stark gave the most ridiculous full form to Jarvis
Despite being one of the most intelligent characters in multiple universes, Tony Stark was just too lazy to give a creative name to one of its most helpful AI, Jarvis. According to Marvel, Jarvis stands for ‘Just a Rather Very Intelligent System‘ which does not seem like much of a cool acronym for an AI system of its magnificent abilities.

Shogun, undoubtedly one of the most loved projects of 2024, is a testament to the creative vision of Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks. This dynamic husband-and-wife duo dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to the monumental task of bringing James Clavell’s novel to life in the form of a television show.
The show is a true love letter to Japanese period drama, and it appears Cosmo Jarvis wanted a huge change in the show that would have definitely made Americans detest it.

When speaking to Decider ahead of the Winter 2024 TCA panel for Shōgun, actor Jarvis revealed the journey behind crafting John Blackthorne’s distinctive voice. Jarvis explained that his approach to projects is typically literal, but researching language for the 1600s setting of Shōgun proved challenging due to the limited resources in historical linguistics.

It’s not easy being hatamoto. That’s what Shōgun lead Cosmo Jarvis says he learned throughout the FX/Hulu drama’s shoot, including while filming the closing sequence of the latest episode.

It might seem hard to believe after viewing the series, but “Shōgun” production designer Helen Jarvis had never been to Japan, had never read James Clavell’s nearly 1,200-page novel and she had never before worked on a 10-part TV series when she first came on the FX show.
However, she was determined to bring authenticity when it came to her set building, locations and world of feudal Japan in the year 1600.
Whereas the Emmy-winning 1980 miniseries was shot entirely in Japan, the new version was shot in British Columbia — on Vancouver Island and in the suburbs of Vancouver — which added a challenge for Jarvis. “We’re lucky here because we have a similar rugged coastline,” Jarvis says.
As she read through the 10 scripts, she started to imagine how the world would look: “We were going to need a few different backlots to encompass all of the sets, and imagine the...
