That year, People published a story featuring three interviews with women who came forward by name to say Cosby similarly drugged and assaulted them. Today more than 40 women have claimed they allegedly fell victim to an icon who they say they once trusted. Cosby, through his attorneys, has repeatedly denied the allegations.

A woman who has accused Bill Cosby of raping her in the 1970s has filed a defamation lawsuit in Massachusetts against the comedian, alleging he "publicly branded" her a liar when his lawyer called her claims "absolutely false."
Tamara Green says in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Springfield on Wednesday that Cosby drugged and raped her when she was an aspiring model. Green first spoke publicly about the alleged rape in 2005.

Green says after she did media interviews earlier this year, Cosby's lawyer and publicist both made statements intended to expose her to public contempt and ridicule.

New York (AP) - NBC has scrapped a Bill Cosby comedy that was under development and TV Land will stop airing reruns of "The Cosby Show," moves that came a day after another woman came forward claiming that the once-beloved comic had sexually assaulted her. NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the Cosby sitcom "is no longer under development." A TV Land spokesperson said the shows will stop airing immediately. "The Cosby Show" also was to have been part of a Thanksgiving marathon of sitcoms, and the show will be off the network indefinitely.
Both the NBC sitcom and Netflix Cosby standup comedy special, which has been indefinitely postponed, were halted within a day after actress Janice Dickinson, in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," became the third woman in recent weeks to allege she'd been assaulted by Cosby - charges strongly denied by the comedian's lawyer.

For the past nine years, retired attorney Tamara Green has stayed fairly quiet about her claims that Bill Cosby drugged and groped her back in 1970. But she thinks it's "fabulous" Cosby is once again under fire for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting 14 women - including former Temple University employee Andrea Constand. "He is in fact a sexual predator," Green, 58, tells People exclusively. "I don't dispute the fact the man has done much good, but he is a flawed man." "He's not the fictional Dr. Huxtable or the Jell-o salesman," she says. "This is Bill Cosby who for years felt entitled...

After 17 years of showcasing TV classics, Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite primetime program block will serve up its first original series production this year with an animated family friendly vehicle based on Bill Cosby's best-selling 1986 book Fatherhood. Nick at Nite has ordered seven half-hour episodes of Fatherhood, which is expected to premiere in December. The series will feature the voice of actor David Alan Grier as the central character, Dr. Bindlebeep, a high school teacher and father of three. Cosby, who will executive produce the series along with Charles Kipps and David Brokaw, said the project marks the completion of a trilogy of animated Cosby creations that started in the mid-1970s with CBS' Saturday-morning hit Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids and continued in the late 1990s with Little Bill, a semiautobiographical series that currently airs on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr. preschooler block.
