What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? That’s the question on fans’ minds after it was revealed Below Deck Med Season 9 will air following Below Deck Season 11.
Ever since Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered on Bravo, it has followed the Og show.
Below Deck Med would then hit Bravo airwaves once the sailing show had wrapped it’s run.
That’s the way it’s been for the past four years, except for last year when Below Deck Down Under Season 2 aired after Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
So why all of a sudden is there a switch in the schedule, especially since Below Deck Med Season 8 just ended in January?
Let’s take a look at what we know.

Carmen Felder and Brandon McLaughlin are back on Below Deck with a new group causing problems from day one.
Below Deck Down Under fans will recall in Season 2 Carmen was the primary, and Brandon was her guest.
Carmen spent much of the trip arguing with another guest, Kristyl Nelson.
Brandon, for his part, almost got kicked off the Northern Sun when he and Kristyl tried to go night swimming.
Captain Jason Chambers warned them that the charter would end if they broke his rule.
The charter guests were not only demanding but filled with drama that kept Below Deck viewers entertained.
It was more of the same the second time around, especially with Brandon, so it’s time for a little refresher on him and Carmen.
Who is Below Deck charter guest Carmen Felder?
The sixth charter on Below Deck Season 11 had Carmen returning and bringing her husband, Ray Lyles.

Below Deck Med alum Hannah Ferrier has spilled some tea about her friendship with Below Deck’s Captain Lee Rosbach.
It turns out that during the height of Hannah’s feud with Captain Sandy Yawn on Below Deck Med, she sought some advice from the stud of the sea.
Hannah and Captain Sandy had a turbulent relationship, to say the least, during the almost four seasons they worked together on the hit-yachting show.

Although that happened nearly five years ago, Hannah still gets asked about her time on Below Deck Med and her feud with the captain.
This week, she revealed one way she got through the drama with Captain Sandy and teased what would bring her back to the franchise.

Bosun Luke Jones was fired after he climbed into Margot Sisson’s bed naked without her consent while she was passed out drunk. Then second stew Laura Bileskalne was dismissed for her inappropriate behavior toward deckhand Adam Kodra the same night. Later in the season Korda was also sent home after a number of serious mistakes and for not performing to standard. So it’s hardly surprising then that Chambers had a lot to talk about with TV Insider as he looked back on an eventful season of the Bravo show, which is currently available for streaming on Peacock. This season was pretty eventful. I think of how you, Aesha Scott, and production acted so quickly when it came to Margot and Luke.

Tumi Mhlongo Made a ‘Big Move Up’ to ‘Below Deck Med’ Chief Stew, Captain Jason Explains [Exclusive]
Captain Jason Chambers from Below Deck Down Under is eager to see how Tumi Mhlongo embraces her new role of chief stew on Below Deck Mediterranean.
Mhlongo was a second stew on Below Deck Down Under Season 1 and quickly became chief stew Aesha Scott’s right-hand person. Despite being relatively new to yachting at the time, Mhlongo was a natural leader and created gorgeous tablescapes.

Even though Mhlongo was a valued crew member, Chambers said transitioning from second to chief stew is not always an easy process.
“The season starts now, doesn’t it? I’ll have to catch up and see how she goes,” Chambers told Showbiz Cheat Sheet during an interview about Invisalign.
“I’m interested to see,” he added. “It’s a big move up to be a chief stewardess and have that responsibility. And especially on a TV show,...

Captain Jason Chambers from Below Deck Down Under may be the new stud of the sea, but he’s always been self-conscious of his teeth.
He recently told Showbiz Cheat Sheet why it took until now to make a big change and how his teeth became a long-running family joke.
“We have a little family joke that I went to the dentist. They said that I needed braces. I probably needed to have teeth taken out and it was going to cost this much money,” Chambers recalled. “And then they asked my mom and dad, does he play a sport? I did play football. So the dentist said, ‘Oh, he’ll probably get knocked out anyway.'”
“Years later, down the track, my sister went to university, so they used the money to put it in university. So that is our little Christmas joke that I got bad teeth and...

Gary King is being accused of sexual harassment. In a new Rolling Stone exposé, Samantha Suarez, who worked in the makeup department for “Below Deck Sailing Yacht”, claims that the cast member tried to force himself on her during production of season 4, which took place in the summer of 2022 in Sardinia, Italy. Et has reached out to King and Suarez for comment.
In a statement to Et, Bravo, the network that airs the “Below Deck” franchise, said it “is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for cast and crew on our reality shows.”
“We require our third-party production companies to have appropriate workplace policies and trainings in place and a clear process on how to report concerns,” Bravo said. “The concerns Ms. Suarez raised in July 2022 were investigated at that time and action was taken based on the findings.”

“Vanderpump Rules” star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss is not part of the BravoCon 2023 lineup that was revealed Friday morning. The former pageant queen and Scandoval participant has not been filming the Bravo reality show — currently in production for eleventh season — and appeared this week on Bethenny Frankel’s podcast to speak out against the network.
Among her claims, Leviss says she has not “seen a penny” after the highly-rated tenth season that focused on her secret relationship with costar Tom Sandoval, who was in a long-term relationship with Ariana Madix. On Friday, Leviss announced she has no plans to return to reality TV and has a “no contact” policy with her former castmates.

Members of the Below Deck Down Under production team and cast say that the decision to intervene and then fire two castmates after they were caught on camera engaging in non-consensual, sexually inappropriate behavior was about maintaining a safe working environment and “not anything to be congratulated.”
In a Los Angeles Times interview, an executive producer on the Bravo reality show, as well as members of its production team and the Northern Sun yacht crew, discussed how the series handled multiple instances of inappropriate misconduct during two recent episodes of the Australian spinoff. Episodes six and seven of the show’s second season, which aired back-to-back earlier this month, chronicled multiple instances of sexual misconduct on the Northern Sun luxury super yacht by former castmembers.

The latest episode of Bravo’s Below Deck Down Under Season 2 saw two crew members get fired due to their non-consensual sexual advances to co-workers.
Bosun Luke Jones and second steward Laura Bileskalne were kicked off the yacht for misconduct after producers had to step in following a chilling and scary moment.
The crew had a night of drinking and third steward Margot Sisson went to bed to rest up. Jones later appeared on camera and tried to get into Sisson’s bed as he was naked. The fourth wall was broken as producers intervened to tell Jones to get out of the bed, where Sisson was unconscious.
Jones ignored repeated requests by producers to step off the top bunk bed, even shutting and locking the door on them. Producers finally were able to get Jones out of Sisson’s room and had him go to his own quarters.

Captain Lee Rosbach is speaking out on the sexual misconduct incidents that took place on this week’s episode of “Below Deck Down Under”.
During Monday’s episode, Luke Jones and Laura Bileskalne were both fired as a result of their “despicable” behaviour, as Rosbach described while chatting with Us Weekly.
“I’m sure they’ll be paying the price for it for a long time to come. As they should,” the “Below Deck” captain told the outlet.
When the “Down Under” crew returned to the superyacht after a night spent drinking alcohol off the boat, Jones climbed into third stew Margot Sisson’s bed naked and “without consent” while she was asleep, despite the fact that she’d made it clear she didn’t want him in her cabin.

Bileskalne was also fired for her inappropriate behavior regarding how she reacted to the incident that occurred with Sisson and Jones and a separate incident with Adam Kodra that same night.
The night first started with the crew going out in Cairns, Australia, together. Many of them took multiple shots and Sisson commented that she felt “really drunk” while at dinner. Brittini Burton, a Below Deck Down Under Season 1 deckhand, said it is important to emphasize how the women came together on the boat following the sexual assault filmed during season 2.
Chief stew Aesha Scott became extremely protective of stew Margot Sisson after bosun Luke Jones came to her cabin naked while she was unconscious. He climbed into her bunk, which is when producers intervened. Horrified, Scott ended up staying with Sisson for some time while she slept to protect her. She then told Captain Jason Chambers who swiftly removed Jones from the boat. Jones was fired the next day.
Burton, who currently runs a female empowerment business, applauded how both Scott and chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph nurtured and supported Sisson after the incident. She said the display of support and protection was extremely important and should be applauded.

Was the Project Runway playing field even on the Below Deck episode? Designers Prajjé Oscar Jean-Baptiste and Anna Zhou both ended at the bottom with their designs for Captain Sandy Yawn and Captain Jason Chambers.

During a walk to the gym, Chambers shared on Instagram that hearing those words was the best thing ever. He recently told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that fan attention, especially from some of his biggest admirers has been extremely flattering. And he loves interacting with his fans.
But his daughter has his heart and joked about Saskia’s reaction to all the attention he’s received since becoming a Bravolebrity.

Below Deck Down Under chief stew Aesha Scott really is going to be a “tougher b****” on season 2. As chief stew, Scott said she was more assertive and learned to be proactive when it came to crew issues – something she regrets not doing more of last season.
Last season Scott felt the need to prove herself to Captain Jason Chambers. So she tried to resolve issues with chef Ryan McKeown and stew Magda Ziomek on her own. From that experience, Scott realized that she should have brought problems to Chambers’ attention earlier so they could have been resolved faster.

“It was my first time being chief stew. And I didn’t wanna nark. Or I didn’t want to bring things to Jason unless it was this massive issue,” she said on Hannah Ferrier’s Dear Reality,...

[Editor's Note: This post contains spoilers for the Below Deck Down Under Season 2 premiere, "Yes, We Cairns!"]
Below Deck Down Under's second charter season has just begun, but the crew members have already encountered rough seas. In Season 2, returning stars Captain Jason Chambers and chief stewardess Aesha Scott face unprecedented challenges as they attempt to deliver five-star service aboard the oldest vessel the franchise has ever seen, Northern Sun, a converted fishing boat that first set sail in 1977. Making matters even worse, Jason and Aesha begin their first charter two crew down, and everyone must step up to keep their drunk, entitled guests happy. By the end of the premiere, "Yes, We Cairns!" the guests take things one step too far, and they find themselves on the receiving end of Jason's wrath when he discovers them swimming in shark-infested waters in the middle of the night.

We can always trust Captain Jason Chambers and Chief Stewardess Aesha Scott to deliver great TV.
The pair were the sole holdovers from Below Deck Down Under Season 1 on Below Deck Down Under Season 2 Episode 1, which focused on everyone trying to get the charter season off without a hitch.
It's a shame Tumi Mhlongo wasn't also kept because she was a breath of fresh air during the stellar freshman season.
It wouldn't be Below Deck without some form of drama, and truthfully, things got wild quicker than most other seasons in franchise history.
That's to be expected when you're down two staff members.
We've witnessed the staff of these superyachts worked to the bone with minimal rest, but that has to be elevated somewhat when you're down that many staff members.
If anything, the insanity that played out should have been a reason to pause the charter season until the appropriate staff had been found.

The ’70s are back on Below Deck Down Under! Production chartered vintage yacht, M/Y Nothern Sun for season 2 – a first for the franchise.
Built in 1976 and retrofitted in 2007, the 50.9m/167′ Northern Sun offers nostalgia nestled in modern luxury. The expedition yacht has six-bedroom suites that can accommodate up to 12 passengers. This includes a master suite, three double cabins, and two twin cabins.
The superyacht has three entertainment saloons, a sun deck and jacuzzi, a gym, and all the water toys guests would desire.
So what would it cost to rent this Below Deck Down Under yacht? And how does it compare to last year’s yacht, Thalassa?
How much does renting the ‘Below Deck Down Under’ yacht cost?
The vintage Northern Sun yacht rents for approximately $161,700 per week (plus expenses) during both low and high seasons, according to Yacht Charter Fleet. While the Nothern Sun is cruising in the...

Escape to the tropical paradise of Cairns, Australia, for season 2 of Below Deck Down Under. Captain Jason Chambers is back with Chief Stew Aesha Scott as they work with a new crew, including Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph, Bosun Luke Jones, Deckhands Adam Kodra and Harry Van Vliet, and Stews Laura Bileskalne and Margot Sisson. They’ll bring first-class charter service to an eclectic mix of guests aboard the 167 ft. Northern Sun, which launched on the waters in 1976 and got a facelift a few years ago. Much like you’ve come to expect from the popular Bravo franchise, this charter season also promises hook-ups, break-ups…and the rare love pentagon. And who better to break it all down than Scott? What was your big takeaway from the first charter season of Below Deck Down Under? Aesha Scott: I think the biggest difference this season was it was a more fun, casual vibe.
