Type O Negative’s seminal album Bloody Kisses turned 30 this year, and Z2 Comics is celebrating the occasion with a graphic novel and picture-disc vinyl reissue.
The graphic novel will feature 12 stories based on songs from what is widely considered the ultimate gothic metal album. The book includes art and stories from contributors Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides), Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), and Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), and more. A release is set for spring 2024.
“Type O Negative is one of those rare bands that created a musical genre by their very existence, and Bloody Kisses is one of those unexpected glorious releases that flipped the table of what was expected from hard rock and metal bands when it came out,” commented editor-in-chief Rantz Hoseley via a press release. “Thirty years later, there’s no band that can go head to head with what they accomplished with that album,...

It’s almost as if former Fear Factory frontman Burton C. Bell knew it was Industrial Week here at Consequence. Just in time for our celebration of the genre, the singer has dropped a cover of Rammstein’s iconic hit “Du Hast.”
The track features Bell alongside Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson on drums and guitar, with mixing and production by Mark Gemini Thwaite. Considering that Bell made his career performing industrial metal with Fear Factory, “Du Hast” falls smack dab in his wheelhouse, and he nails the song’s bellowed vocals.
The cover is the opening cut on the upcoming A Tribute to Rammstein covers album, arriving August 25th via Cleopatra Records. It also marks Bell’s first solo output since he announced his exit from Fear Factory back in late 2020.
Wrote Bell on Instagram: “Today Is The Day that my #breakout #debut #singletrack of #duhast is released!” said Bell on his Instagram.

Industrial metal veterans Fear Factory have revealed Milo Silvestro as their new singer, replacing founding frontman Burton C. Bell, who parted ways with the group back in 2020.
“It’s time to introduce the world to our new vocalist,” stated guitarist Dino Cazares in a press release. “The search was long and meticulous, but I know for sure we got the right guy.”
Silvestro added, “This is a huge opportunity for me. I’ve been a fan of the band for many years and it feels very surreal but I’m excited to be part of it. I know I have some massive shoes to fill but I’m here to do it in the best way possible and give justice to the vocal legacy of this legendary band.”

Industrial metal band Fear Factory is back with another release, The Industrialist. Much like their previous album, Mechanize, The Industrialist takes the band's music and futuristic story telling to the next level. The new album features a story much like their 1999 concept album Obsolete. The futuristic science fiction story, which is presented in the CD booklet, follows the main character, known as "The Industrialist." The music for The Industrialist is brilliant and brutal, which is more or less what you expect from Fear Factory. There was once again a line up change for the band's newest release and the only members involved with this outing are vocalist Burton C. Bell and Dino Cazares on guitars. The drum and bass tracks are programed and arranged. Despite lacking musicians, the album does not lack any of its Fear Factory potency.

There's hardly a musician on my favorites list (or yours, probably) who hasn't crossed paths at some point with industrial rocker, drummer, programmer and producer Chris Vrenna at some point. Whether it's Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie, Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Lords of Acid or dozens of others, Vrenna's distinctive style has played a massive role in shaping the dark side of multiple music genres over the past couple of decades. Aside from his association with all those iconic names, Chris has also nurtured his own sonic brainchild – an eerie gothic entity known as Tweaker. The project actually dates back to the late '90s, when Chris was still drummer for Nine Inch Nails, but Tweaker solidified as a touring group in the mid-2000s, when Vrenna was joined by guitarist/keyboardist Clint Walsh. After the release of their 2004 album 2 Am Wakeup Call, the band toured with...

Industrial metallers Fear Factory have been dealing in futuristic sonic destruction on and off for two decades now, but their career spiked again in 2009 with the return of masterful guitarist Dino Cazares to the fold. The subsequent album Mechanize marked a new burst of creative energy for the team led by founder/frontman Burton C. Bell, inviting positive comparisons to their much-hailed 1995 release Demanufacture. For the inevitable follow-up, the band set their sights even higher, choosing to write a concept record (their first since 1998's Obsolete) that plays out like an industrial rock opera set in a horrific future – augmenting the band's signature deep, dark & furious mechanized metal rhythms with spooky...

Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon and Fear Factory have released statements to MTV News as the heavy metal community continues to mourn the loss of Ronnie James Dio. The legendary and iconic vocalist passed away after a battle with stomach cancer early Sunday morning. He was 67.
"It is a very sad day for the world of metal when an artist as unique and special as Ronnie James Dio leaves us," Zombie said in an e-mail to MTV News. "He will forever be imitated but he will never be duplicated."
In 2006, Killswitch Engage offered up a loving imitation of their own, unleashing a cover of Dio's "Holy Diver," which became a staple of their live sets. A medieval-themed music video for their version, which...

As we hinted late last year, industrial-metal icons Fear Factory decided to set aside their usual dystopian future visions when undertaking the video for Fear Campaign – the latest single from their long-awaited album Mechanize – and focus instead on the horrors humanity has unleashed upon the real world. They weren't kidding either; it's a pretty chilling spectacle. But hey, fear is this band's business... and from the look of this one, business is pretty damn good. Go below the fold and unleash the hounds of hell! As we mentioned back in December, the La-shot video for Fear Campaign incorporates a concept that band frontman Burton C. Bell devised with Emmy-nominated filmmakers Ian McFarland and Mike...

Back in fearful force with their upcoming album Mechanize, industrial-metal giants Fear Factory are kicking off the production process on the video for the first single, Fear Campaign. Frontman Burton C. Bell has described the band's new material as more brutally realistic than their past work, suggesting that reality has finally caught up with the dystopian nightmare worlds they only fantasized about in their music before. That's a pretty heavy prospect... but heavy is how these guys roll. Find out more about the video after the jump! According to the latest from Blabbermouth.net, Ian McFarland and Mike Pecci will be sharing directing duties on the Fear Campaign video, and McFarland recently discussed the overall...

If the first single Powershifter is any indication, this release sounds like a return to the band's groundbreaking roots. Flip to the other side and find out more about their apocalyptic new creation... Mechanized also represents the reunion of frontman Burton C. Bell with the original guitarist Dino Cazares – after parting ways nearly six years ago – and also marks the return of Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly) on keys. They're joined by bassist Byron Stroud and the masterful Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad) at the drumkit. Bell describes the product of...

Also recently Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory stopped in studio to lend a helping hand on some backing vocals.

When original rights holder Brash Entertainment crashed and burned in a very spectacular way recently, it looked bad for the future of a game based on the Saw series. Variety is reporting today that Konami has picked up the rights and now plans on releasing a Saw title sooner rather than later.
This appears to involve more than just the rights, but the actual work-in-progress from Brash, as the announcement states the game will be released along with the next Saw film ... which we know is due this Halloween season.
I admit to be more than a little concerned ... unless the game is 100% done at this point, we’re talking about a new design team taking up a work-in-progress from another company that was in trouble when the development was taking place. The release window really isn’t as wide as it seems: 8.5 months from now till release for a three-platform game (PC,...

I know I’m at Los Angeles’ American Film Market when, as soon as I get off the plane, I run into Lloyd Kaufman (in a men’s room, no less). The actor: Tobin Bell started in acting relatively late—he was 46 before his first big project, a small role in Mississippi Burning. His career is riddled with cop-types and bad guys, including a notable appearance as the Unabomber in a 1996 made-for-tv film. But his name didn't become synonymous with horror until he stepped into the Saw franchise's role of Jigsaw, a brilliant cancer patient/serial killer who creates elaborate traps for his victims, in the hopes that they'll gain a new appreciation for life—if they survive. Bell has signed on for six Saw movies, the fifth of which hits theaters this week. Mississippi Burning (1988)—"Agent Stokes" The A.V. Club: How did you get hooked up with the project? Actor Tobin Bell has been enjoying the success of Saw V, in which he reprises his signature role of Jigsaw, this past week. However, the first thing he wants to talk to us about is his upcoming creature feature Bump, in which he’ll star opposite Hellraiser babe Ashley Laurence under the direction of Robert (The Rage) Kurtzman.
“The title comes from the saying ‘things that go bump in the night,’ ” Bell tells Fango. “I can say that this is going to be a very scary film. I play a sheriff in a rural Georgia town where some stuff has been going down that is pretty shocking. Of course, he has to investigate all these horrible events.”
According to the actor, his fans can expect him to once again play a layered genre character. “My role in Bump is a very rich one,” he says. “This is a great script...
