Parker Posey and Wagner Moura have joined the upcoming “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” series at Amazon, Variety has learned exclusively.
The duo joins previously announced series leads Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, as well as Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Paul Dano. Posey and Moura will appear in recurring roles. Details around their characters are being kept under wraps.
Posey was most recently seen in the AMC anthology series “Tales of the Walking Dead” as well as the critically-acclaimed HBO Max limited series “The Staircase.” Her other TV credits include the Netflix reboot of “Lost in Space” as well as “Search Party,” “The Good Wife,” and “Tales of the City.” On the film side, she is known for appearing in Christopher Guest films like “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind,” and “Waiting for Guffman” along with films like “Dazed and Confused” and “You’ve Got Mail.”

Narcos star Wagner Moura has been tapped as a lead opposite Elisabeth Moss in Shining Girls, Apple TV+’s metaphysical thriller series based on Lauren Beukes’ 2013 best-selling novel, which comes from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and MRC Television.
Created and written by Silka Luisa, The Shining Girls book centers on a Depression-era drifter who must murder the “shining girls” in order to continue his travels.
Moura will play Dan, a veteran journalist breaking the widening story of a copycat attack. Moss plays a Chicago reporter who survived a brutal assault only to find her reality shifting as she hunts down her attacker.
In addition to starring, Moss executive produces via her Love & Squalor Pictures, alongside Lindsey McManus. Luisa is an executive producer and showrunner. One of them is the subject of a period drama series project in development at HBO, from writer-director Martyn Burke (Pirates of Silicon Valley). Set in 1980s, the project, tentatively titled Reds, is based on real-life events from Burke's early film career. In the 80s, he was traveling the U.S. with a camera crew while making a documentary.
