It's back to the islands for Jeff Probst and his camera crew for the 2024-25 TV season. Survivor has been renewed for 47th and 48th cycles on CBS. The show will continue to have 90-minute episodes.
A long-running competition series, the Survivor TV show is hosted (as always) by Jeff Probst. In the current 46th edition, 18 new players are relocated to the beautiful Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. They must form a society and adapt to their physical and social surroundings, forcing players to choose between personal risk and reward, while navigating the complex social game and attempting to forge alliances to last another day. The castaways are initially split into three tribes of six people each. In the Yanu tribe, there's David Jelinsky, Bhanu Gopal, Jessica "Jess" Chong, Kenzie Petty, Q Burdette, and Tiffany Nicole Ervin. The...

The word “chaos” has been thrown around quite a lot throughout “Survivor 46,” most often when it comes to Q Burdette‘s eye-popping actions at tribal council. But we’ve also seen wild and crazy moments from Liz Wilcox (all she wanted was a bourbon burger), Venus Vafa (that darn wagon ran over her toe), Bhanu Gopal (his entire essence) and David Jelinsky (for several reasons). Now, following Wednesday’s 10th episode, it’s clear that the Season 46 cast members aren’t just chaotic … they’re also cursed when it comes to idols.
To date, four hidden immunity idols have been found on “Survivor 46,” and all four went unplayed. The first person to go home with an idol in their pocket was Randen Montalvo, who was medically evacuated from the game on Day 7 due to a pinched nerve in his hand. The only person he had told about the idol was Venus,...

Survivor host Jeff Probst is happy that CBS ordered the show to be more inclusive.
In 2020, CBS President and CEO George Cheeks mandated the 50% of Survivor be Bipoc. The show is one month away from filming Season 47, but Probst already has seen the impact.
“That will go down as one of the most positive and significant changes ever in Survivor,” Probst said during the Contenders TV panel Saturday. “More people are applying now than ever, and it’s going up every season in every single category — African-American, East Asian, Middle Eastern, South Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, Asian. it’s the perfect illustration of what we say all the time, which is representation matters.”
Speaking with the new contestants, Probst observed that representation begat more representation. The numbers of applicants speak to growth.
“Now we have people applying to be on the show saying, ‘I never saw anybody who looked like me.

Jem Hussain-Adams left Survivor 46 with an Immunity Idol in her pocket, failing to see a blindside coming from her tribe.
After returning to the real world, Jem has been blindsided by social media users lashing out at Survivor 46 cast members. Especially those people who voted her out.
One tribe was setting records in Fiji, with the Yanu Tribe going the longest without a flint.
Jem’s tribe made it the longest intact, taking all six members to the Day 11 Tribal Council.
But a plot had been hatched to eliminate Jem, and she was voted out 4-2 with a secret Immunity Idol still in her possession.
It left Jem one episode short of making it to the “earn the merge” portion of the season.

Survivor 46 castaway Jessica “Jess” Chong has shared her side of the story from Fiji.
She has grown tired of reading comments from Survivor fans calling her “useless” on the show and clarified what people saw during her time on screen.
As a quick reminder, Jess was on the dysfunctional Yanu Tribe on Survivor 46.
During the first episode, David Jelinsky got voted out by the tribe soon after they lost the opening Immunity Challenge.
Yanu also lost the second Immunity Challenge, and Kenzie Petty, Q Burdette, and Tiffany Nicole Ervin decided to vote out Jess or Bhanu Gopal. The trio then constructed a fake Immunity Idol, set about convincing Jess it was real and that she should use it, and then they voted her off Survivor.
In her exit interview, Jess called her time on Survivor “torture,” but now she has more to say to fans disparaging her time on reality TV.

After the third episode concluded with the Yanu tribe celebrating their unity and not having to attend their third consecutive tribal council due to a medical evacuation, the opening minutes of the fourth episode of “Survivor 46” knocked the wind right out of their sails (and again later in the episode particularly with one player). Meanwhile, Nami set another new target – this time not coming from Venus Vafa – and a major deception happened at Siga that while entertaining in the short run, could raise concern for potential dilemmas in the longer game. Let’s break down all of the events that commenced in “Don’t Touch the Oven.”
This was the first episode that Venus did not have a confessional, which as a result made the Nami tribe have the least drama this episode. But it looks like she may be able to gain another life in the game after the...

The Survivor 46 winner won’t officially be revealed for a while, but online information has been leaked that points to a few castaways.
A Reddit user named LifetimeRobot has become synonymous with confirming or refuting Survivor spoilers on threads.
The user was correct with the information they shared about Survivor 45, even though some of the pre-season spoilers didn’t seem like they could be correct.
So far, their information has also been correct about Survivor 46, supporting the assumption that they have some inside information.
Readers must take these spoilers with a grain of salt so far. The production team has not confirmed anything about the winner, and likely won’t to ensure viewers keep tuning in.
But for Survivor addicts who want a headstart on what could take place on the season finale, it’s interesting to look ahead.

A new scene from Survivor 46 was revealed about the Siga Tribe.
This deleted scene comes from the moments after the Episode 4 Reward Challenge.
An intense obstacle course on the water ended with castaways tossing rings onto a large poll.
The challenge went much differently than the previous Immunity Challenges that had ended with the Yanu Tribe losing people.

Survivor 46 sent home Bhanu Gopal during the fourth episode.
But host Jeff Probst did things a bit differently at Tribal Council.
The Yanu Tribe was very up-front with Jeff about targeting Bhanu.
After Bhanu revealed that he had no vote, Jeff elaborated that he couldn’t use his Shot in the Dark without a vote to sacrifice.
Tiffany, Kenzie, and Q noted they were writing down Bhanu’s name. It was a plan in place following his revelation that he had told the other tribes too much about the trio.
Bhanu then spoke about his background and how he had come from poverty before living out his dream of playing Survivor.
Jeff Probst snuffs Bhanu’s torch and gives him a hug
Rather than have a Tribal Council vote, Jeff asked Bhanu to bring his torch up when he was ready. He also hugged Bhanu to bring his time on Survivor to a close.

Bhanu Gopal had his Survivor 46 journey end on Wednesday night.
Though he made it through four episodes, Bhanu seemed at risk of elimination almost every week.
A very emotional player in Fiji, Bhanu also spoke some phrases that will stick with him forever.
One such phrase was when Bhanu suggested that he was more interested in winning one million hearts (from viewers) than the $1 million prize.
It didn’t help his cause that Bhanu was part of one of the weakest tribes (competition-wise) that the show had ever seen.
His Yanu Tribe lost four straight Immunity Challenges, sending them to the Tribal Council each week. The only thing that saved them during Episode 3 was the medical evacuation of Randen Montalvo.

The last episode of Survivor 46 ended shockingly, as one of the castaways had to be medically evacuated.
Randen Montalvo got eliminated on Day 7 when the medical team decided it was unsafe for him to continue playing.
Randen was the first non-Yanu Tribe member to go home. And he saved Yanu from losing a third member as they were heading to Tribal Council again.
Through the first three episodes, David Jelinsky, Jess Chong, and Randen were eliminated.

Storylines continue to unfold and situations become messier in the third episode of “Survivor 46.” Venus Vafa targets a new tribe member (only to suffer another blowback), the Siga Beware Advantage is found (turns out earlier than expected), and Bhanu Gopal goes through an existential meltdown on a tribe that cannot catch a break – until they do. Let’s break down all of the chaos in the third episode of the season, titled “Wackadoodles Win.”
The kumbaya tribe that is Siga finally has some drama as everyone goes on a group idol search to find the Beware Advantage, with Charlie Davis specifically declaring he would not share it with the rest of the tribe should he find it first, which was followed by Jemila “Jem” Hussain-Adams noticing it in a tree right under his nose. Survivor 46 has had an emotional start to the season.
With added time from CBS, the first two episodes were two hours each. And that allowed more time for tribe discussions and backstories from the players.
Some Survivor fans are less inclined to enjoy hearing all the talking and are more interested in watching the competitions.
Unfortunately, with the move from 39-day seasons to 26-day seasons, many challenges have been cut for time.
The Survivor producers don’t have time to do a Reward Challenge and an Immunity Challenge ahead of each Tribal Council. Instead, the producers have often combined them into one entity in recent seasons.
Having several recent castaways who have been very emotional in Fiji has also frustrated some long-time Survivor viewers.

Indian It professional Bhanu Gopal has had a particularly rough time on Survivor 46. The lack of food and sleep has led to many tears from him.

An unexpected feud between a Big Brother winner and a new Survivor player may have just begun.
Three episodes into the Survivor 46 season, it has been rough-sledding for one particular tribe. And viewers have noticed.
One such viewer seems to be BB15 winner Andy Herren, who shared some thoughts on social media.
Andy was part of a very troubled season of Big Brother that aired in the summer of 2013. Numerous racist and homophobic comments made by houseguests that season embroiled the reality competition show in controversy.
It has seemed like CBS wanted to distance itself from that season, with nobody from the BB15 cast returning to play the game again.
The troubled BB15 season and the casting for Survivor 46 set the background for a social media dust-up this week.

There is a lot to unpack with the second episode of “Survivor 46.” It gave us three completely different tribes in terms of dynamics, to how rivals work together, to a secret alliance, to one of the most rocky, problematic groups filled with paranoia and borderline controversial gameplay with much hilarity. In another two-hour episode, let’s break down all of the craziness that occurred in “Scorpio Energy.”
Starting with the most cohesive and least dramatic tribe of the three, Siga (known as the vibe tribe) seems to still have the gender trios of the women versus the men, with Charlie Davis looking to be swayed into joining the girls, but also registering that he would be the bottom of that pact. In order to solidify himself further, he proposed a secret pairing with Maria Shrime Gonzalez – who seems to be the popular tribe member and also possesses an extra vote...

A new episode of Survivor 46 hints at more drama for (Surprise!) the Yanu Tribe.
Yanu lost the first two Immunity Challenges, leading to two members getting voted out at the Tribal Councils.
David Jelinsky was the castaway sent home on the season premiere, and then Jess Chong got eliminated on Episode 2.
The tribe is clearly in disarray and could soon be in the running for the worst tribe in the history of Survivor if they don’t right this ship.
Bhanu Gopal, Kenzie Petty, Q Burdette, and Tiffany Nicole Ervin are the only people left at Yanu.
Bhanu thought he was getting voted out instead of Jess at the latest Tribal Council, and the sleepless nights and lack of food may have caught up with him.

Recently on social media, a battle has been brewing about which version of the long-running reality TV show is better: U.S. “Survivor” or “Australian Survivor”? Well, one of the current Aussie contestants, Feras Basal, is challenging the American host, Jeff Probst, to let the two countries duke it out Down Under. “Cmon @JeffProbst we want Au Vs US,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Let them play with the big kids in Aus, we’ll sort them out with 47 days.”

Feras mentioning the number of days is important, because it’s perhaps the biggest different between the two versions. One season of “Australian Survivor” takes place over a whopping 47 days, or about a month and a half. Meanwhile,...

It was a rough episode of Survivor for Jess.
Jessica “Jess” Chong was a member of the Yanu Tribe until they voted her out on the latest episode.
It was a tribe of dysfunction from early on, with the team unable to complete a Sweat Challenge and then failing miserably at the first Immunity Challenge.
David “Jelinsky” Jelinsky, Kenzie Veurink, Bhanu Gopal, Tiffany Ervin, Q Burdette, and Jess were in the Yanu Tribe.
Jelinsky got voted off Survivor at the first Tribal Council, knocking the tribe down to just five people for the second episode.
Despite Jelinsky being gone, things did not improve for Yanu. They also lost the second Immunity Challenge, earning them a date with Jeff Probst at the second Tribal Council.
The second episode of Survivor 46 featured her tribe making a fake Immunity Idol to trick Jess into using it.

A new episode led to someone else getting voted off Survivor last night.
The episode picked up after the Tribal Council that sent home David Jelinsky on the season premiere.
Jelinsky was seen as quitting on his tribe several times, leading to him unanimously getting voted out by the Yanu Tribe.
At the Siga Tribe, Charlie Davis and Ben Katzman challenged each other to a song battle. For each Taylor Swift song Charlie named, Ben tried to match him with a Metallica song.
Charlie and Ben went back and forth for more than 100 song titles each, with Charlie eventually proving how much of a Swiftie he was by winning the battle.
Randen Montalvo found a Beware Advantage at Nami Tribe. He lost his vote, but if he could find a key, he could unlock a box with an Immunity Idol inside. But before that can happen, his tribe must lose a future Immunity Challenge.

“Survivor” is back with a brand new season and 18 new contestants. For the second time in the history of CBS’s reality TV show, there will be 90-minute episodes throughout the entire season, with the premiere lasting two hours. That gives viewers more character game moments and tribe dynamics, which last week’s premiere set up very strongly, with seemingly solidified alliances and promising rivalries, while also giving us messy relationships and one of the most epic flameouts in a first boot in a while. As the three tribes form and the alliances begin on “Survivor 46,” read on as we break down the game and the premiere.

Survivor 46 brought the drama on Wednesday night.

The Nami Tribe members are Soda Thompson, Hunter McKnight, Tevin Davis, Liz Wilcox, Randen Montalvo, and Venus Vafa. They wear orange.

Wednesday night on CBS, Jeff Probst officially lit the torch on the 46th season of “Survivor.” Just like all of the “new era” cycles, this year’s crop of 18 contestants have been divided into three tribes and come from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. The first two episodes of this installment will be two hours long, and then the show will air in 90-minute increments thereafter. In the season premiere, viewers met the new castaways and found out who had the unfortunate title of being the first person voted off the island.

Survivor 46 has arrived, and here is a look at the tribes.
There are 18 fresh faces on the new Survivor season, with filming done in Fiji. Yes, Fiji, again.
Host Jeff Probst is back, and he teased some “vicious” moments from these players.
The first episode airs on Wednesday, February 28. It’s a two-hour premiere to introduce everyone.
Having bonus footage on the first night is a nice treat for the fans. According to the Survivor 46 television schedule, they are doing it again in Week 2.

The Survivor 46 cast: Here are the tribes
Yanu, Siga, and Nami are the three Survivor 46 tribes. They compete in a challenge when they first hit the beach in Fiji.
The opening challenge can set a tone because getting an advantage on the first day can lead to a tribe succeeding at Immunity Challenges.
