Match #1: Braun Strowman def. Jd McDonagh The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In his first match back since his injury, Braun Strowman dismantled Jd McDonagh, chucking him around like a sack of flour. McDonagh tried chopping Strowman, leading to a vicious chop from The Monster of All Monsters. Despite a hobbled knee, Strowman was still able to take out McDonagh with the freight train clothesline. As Strowman was looking to put away McDonagh, Finn Bálor and Carlito tried to take out The Monster of All Monsters. This backfired as Strowman shook them off, hitting a Tilt-a-whirl Powerslam on McDonagh to win the match. After the match, McDonagh tried attacking with a steel chair, an enraged Strowman forced McDonagh, Bálor and Carlito to flee.

Welcome to this review of the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring pay-per-view. Technically this was the 12th King of the Ring event, but the First combined King and Queen of the Ring; which took place on Saturday, May 25th, at the Jeddah Super Dome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Match #1: WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill needed everything in their arsenals to walk out as champions during a spirited title bout with Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. LeRae and Hartwell isolated and hobbled Belair, ruthlessly targeting the injury The Est suffered at the hands of The Poison Pixie a few weeks ago. Unfortunately for LeRae and Hartwell, a Storm was coming. Belair tagged in Cargill, and her unbelievable strength and athleticism more than evened the odds.

The much-anticipated King & Queen of the Ring came and went in front of another raucous international crowd, giving us an afternoon of solid wrestling and setting some future storylines into motion.
This premium live event had some added weight to it with the King & Queen matches, which we found out recently would give the winners a title shot at Summerslam
Crowing a King, and more recently a Queen, had been a staple of the WWE, with some of the most famous moments in the company's history coming during the event.
Think 'Austin 3:16 said I just whopped your ass' for starters.
But the matches that supplied their winners with crowns were just two on a heavy card that saw multiple titles up for grabs and ended up being a damn good time.
We're not here to break down the ins and outs of the matches. But we are here to...

Every parent knows there are generally two kinds of animated features: the ones that put in the extra work to appeal to an audience of all ages and the ones that don’t aspire to entertain anyone but the easy-to-please under-12 set. Thelma The Unicorn is, sadly, the latter.

With Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa unwilling to break rules to help him, Chad Gable sent them both to the back. As Gable continued to berate Dupri and Tozawa, Zayn took advantage to hit a Blue Thunder Bomb, but was unable to come up with the victory. Gable locked on the Ankle Lock to try and get the submission victory but Zayn was able to make it to the ropes. Screaming at Otis to help him, Otis was conflicted before deciding against helping his leader. Once again, Gable slapped Otis for his insubordination. As a show about the first responders, Chicago Fire loves to kill off fan-favorite characters and constantly remind viewers that no member of Firehouse 51 is safe. But perhaps this attitude toward characters – only as tools of increasing drama – has not served the show well.
Chicago Fire Fans Have Seen Enough of Their Favorites Die
Chicago Fire began with a death – Andy Darden died in a fire in the premiere episode. This was followed by the death of Shay, one of the show's biggest fan favorites. She was hit by a pipe during a call in the season two finale, leaving viewers with a huge cliffhanger, but fans didn't learn of her death until the season three premiere.
The same was true for Otis, another character for whom viewers grew increasingly sympathetic. Like Shay, Otis died a heroic death in a fire. Once again, the seventh season ended with the tense call,...

The most beloved series about firefighters right now is undoubtedly Chicago Fire – each episode is an exciting drama about selfless people. The unpredictability of the plot twists and the high level of drama have contributed a great deal to the popularity of the show.
On Chicago Fire, the stakes are high – anyone, even the main fan favorite, can die. And one such death is still haunting fans.
Otis' Death in Chicago Fire Season 7
Otis Zvonecek was one of the most beloved characters on Chicago Fire – the members of Firehouse 51 treated him like a little brother, and Otis always put a positive spin on even the most difficult and risky situations.
In Season 6, Otis began dating Lily, the daughter of the man who sold him the bar the firefighter called Molly's North, and their duo melted the hearts of many viewers. The fans wished the couple a happy ever after, but...

Closer in tone to the sharp adult series “BoJack Horseman” than to Illumination’s bland “Sing” franchise, Netflix’s “Thelma the Unicorn” avoids being rendered completely unoriginal by its overly familiar premise thanks to consistent splashes of acid humor and a plethora of wacky supporting characters. Reimagined from the popular 2015 children’s book by Aaron Blabey, this bright-colored fable concerns a female pony chasing musical stardom disguised as a horned magical creature. But by changing her identity to chase those ambitions, Thelma betrays herself and those who truly know her.
The adaptation marks the animated feature debut for co-directors Jared Hess and Lynn Wang. Hess, still best known for co-writing and directing the 2004 indie hit “Napoleon Dynamite,” received an Oscar nomination earlier this year for the handcrafted animated short “Ninety-Five Senses” about a Death Row inmate. He shared the accolade with his wife and careerlong collaborator Jerusha Hess (also his...

Sky took out Baszler’s knee before hitting a superb moonsault from the the top rope onto Baszler outside the ring. Baszler looked to have Sky fading in the Kirifuda Clutch, but Sky booked her ticket to the semifinals after hitting the Over the Moonsault, somehow surviving the punishment of Baszler.

Sex Education fans know that the complicated relationship between mother-son sex therapist duo Dr. Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) and Otis (Asa Butterfield) is at the heart of the YA dramedy. But we’re about to see a whole new side of Jean when Sex Education Season 4 premieres on Sept. 21, because she now has a newborn to care for, too: her daughter Joy, who was born toward the end of Season 3.
“Jean’s just had a new baby and her story in Season 4 is about her overall ambitions and career goals, and how these collide with the pressures of motherhood,” Sex Education executive producer and creator Laurie Nunn told Netflix. “Being a single parent to a very small child is exhausting, and Jean is being pulled in different directions.”

In almost any series, no matter what it is about – superheroes, medieval magic or mysterious murders – there will definitely be a love line or two. In the 90s, Brazilian soap operas were watched by whole families. In the 21st century, soap operas have been replaced by procedurals, but in addition to investigations, saving lives and legal troubles, such series still devote a significant part of their running time to romantic storylines.
Of course, Chicago Fire has not escaped this fate, where love passions boil no less than the rescuers' professional lives. Over 12 seasons, viewers have witnessed the rise and fall of many couples' feelings.
Chicago Fire's Most Painful Breakup Was Lily and Otis
One of the most heartbreaking breakups for fans happened between Otis and Lily. The two met in season six when Otis bought Lily's father's bar and renamed it Molly's North. Although this relationship was not given much screen time,...

It’s been an emotional couple of months for Jamie Otis and her husband Doug Hehner, who recently found out they’re expecting after a difficult pregnancy journey.
However, the good news just keeps coming for the Married at First Sight alums, who were surprised to find out they are having twins.
That wasn’t the end though, as the couple later found out the gender of their babies, and then got “the best shock” – they were identical.
In typical fashion, Jamie and Doug have been chronicling and sharing all these moments on social media.
In their latest video, the couple captured the moment when they found out the news, and it triggered an emotional reaction from Jamie.
In her post, the pregnant Mafs star noted that the chances were slim, but that she prayed the babies would be identical and now those prayers have been answered.

Last year, Gunn and Safran introduced new plans for the “Dcu,” a cinematic universe intended to replace and reboot the Dceu. The initial phase, dubbed ‘Gods & Monsters,’ encompasses animated projects and live-action shows set in Themyscira long before Wonder Woman’s era.
Although the animated series ‘Creature Commandos’ debuted first, the true kickoff of the Dcu will be ‘Superman,’ a live-action film centering on a younger Superman, effectively supplanting Cavill’s established Man of Steel. While the movie is still far from release, we’ve gathered available information in this comprehensive guide. Let’s dive in!
The plot of the film remains a mystery, yet its inspiration is clear enough
At the Dcu reveal, Gunn mentioned that the upcoming movie draws inspiration from ‘All-Star Superman,’ despite the costume drawing from Alex Ross’ art and the logo resembling ‘Kingdom Come’ Superman at the table reading. The movie’s brief synopsis...

Yikes. Married at First Sight’s messy Denver season is drawing to a close, but the anger and animosity between the cast isn’t letting up.
The two-part season 17 reunion featured tears, cheating accusations, and stunning admissions. Cast members revealed that they’d colluded to try to shape the show’s narrative, including deleting diary cams and lying to the experts during counseling sessions. Clare accused her ex, Cameron, of masterminding the whole plan, which he denied. Emily suggested Cameron was faking his heart problem to get out of filming. Brennan finally admitted he wasn’t attracted to Emily because of her drunken, party-girl antics and irresponsible financial behavior. Emily clashed with reunion host Kevin Frazier and stormed off stage during one particularly heated moment. In other words, it was a mess.

“Big” Bronson Reed etched his name in history as he won the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in thrilling fashion. Omos looked like the early favorite as he tossed out Kit Wilson, prompting Elton Prince to voluntarily eliminate himself to join his Pretty Deadly partner and avoid the wrath of The Nigerian Giant. As the field dwindled, Ricochet was poised to take control, but he was shockingly eliminated by Jd McDonagh, who was then promptly superkicked over the top rope by Akira Tozawa. Tozawa, Reed, Ivar and Otis were the final four Superstars, and the Aussie giant stood tall after eliminating the Viking Raider.

Match #1: Dijak def. Shawn Spears The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a match with major Nxt Stand & Deliver implications, Dijak managed outlast Shawn Spears in an incredible one-on-one match between two of the brand’s best. As the two Superstars warred inside the ring, Joe Gacy appeared from under the ring and stole Spears’ signature steel chair, seemingly helping his former rival Dijak. After a brutal, hard-hitting affair, Spears went looking for his chair only to find it missing. The slight distraction gave Dijak enough time to recover and after another back and forth, he finally managed to hit Feast Your Eyes to give him the major win.

After a brutal, hard-hitting affair, Spears went looking for his chair only to find it missing. The slight distraction gave Dijak enough time to recover and after another back and forth, he finally managed to hit Feast Your Eyes to give him the major win.

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: #DIY def. The Creed Brothers The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Despite dominating during their time in Nxt, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have never had a match at WrestleMania, and this seemingly spurned them to leave it all on the line. Brutus and Julius Creed wowed the WWE Universe, especially when Julius lifted from his knees into a standing vertical suplex, showcasing his raw strength. The Creed Brothers continued their punishing attack, sending Ciampa through the announce table area and leaving Pat McAfee speechless. Julius and Brutus caught their opponents with tandem ankle locks, but Ciampa and Gargano countered into a Sicilian Stretch and Gargano Escape. Gargano scored the pinfall after both teams went back-and-forth with pin attempts.

The Dceu has faced its fair share of ups and downs lately. But one consistent point of praise has been the casting choices, particularly actors like Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Henry Cavill and Wonder Woman in the Dceu
Anyways, James Gunn is now all set to change the whole universe. While his reboot sounds like a fresh idea, there is also a bittersweet feeling because they’re shaking up the cast.
Gunn and Peter Safran seem to have something new in the works, and it makes sense why they’re opting for younger actors like David Corenswet (as they provide longevity and potential for more movies in the future).
After his casting as Clark Kent/Superman in June 2023, new cast names were soon revealed, including Nicholas Hoult as the classic villain Lex Luthor. Most recently, the actor for Perry White has also been announced.

Great Caesar’s Ghost, Perry White has been found.
Wendell Pierce, perhaps best known for his work as a detective on HBO’s seminal crime series The Wire, has been cast as the iconic editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet in James Gunn’s Superman.
The new feature based on the DC Comics character began rolling in Atlanta on Thursday. It was previously titled Superman: Legacy.
David Corenswet is starring as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult as classic villain Lex Luthor.
The character of Perry White is a Man of Steel fixture, first introduced in a Superman radio serial in 1940. He is the boss of both Kent and Lane, and depending on the incarnation, can be a tough-as-nails boss, the harried-by-his-reporters boss, or a father-figure boss. James Gunn took to Instagram to announce that Superman Legacy is now just called Superman. There’s also a new look at the Superman insignia.
Production on James Gunn’s Superman film is ramping up. Gunn recently shared a photo of the entire cast together, including a very bald Nicholas Hoult who will be playing iconic villain Lex Luthor.
Yesterday (29th February), Gunn took to Instagram once again to share a first sneak peek of the brand new Superman insignia.
The Superman logo has a bit of snow around it, which could suggest we’re getting a scene set in Superman’s arctic retreat, The Fortress of Solitude. The film will be the first entry in Gunn’s new DC Universe.

Interestingly, the Kryptonian’s birthday falls on the same day, according to DC Comics. While the change came as a surprise to many fans, they also noticed a few details on the logo that accompanied the announcement.

Drop the Legacy. James Gunn revealed that his new Superman movie will simply be called Superman, writing in a post celebrating the first day of filming, “When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was Superman. Making our way to you July 2025.”
Along with the post, he shared an image of the Superman logo from the film, which was previously called Superman: Legacy. The snow-dusting on the logo suggests a scene set in The Fortress of Solitude, Superman’s arctic fortress.
Superman, of course, was the title of the seminal 1978 film starring Christopher Reeve and directed by Richard Donner. (Though it was also known as Superman: The Movie.)
David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult as classic villain Lex Luthor.

The Chicago Fire wedding for Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett finally happened.
It was a family affair, with Firehouse 51 making up many attendants.
The Darden boys were there, Kelly Severide returned to be Casey’s best man, and Brett’s new baby had a front-row seat.
One scene even focused on the son of Joe Cruz, whom he named after their fallen firefighter friend Otis.
The small nod to Otis was nice, as was having Trudy Platt (Mouch’s wife) in attendance to celebrate Brettsey.
Amelia was even there, standing near a fish tank during the wedding. But not every Chicago Fire fan remembered who she was.
Who is Amelia on Chicago Fire?
Amelia is the daughter of Sylvie Brett’s biological mother. Her mother, Julie, died in childbirth. Since then, Brett has tried to be involved in Amelia’s life.

If you needed confirmation that James Gunn is getting ever closer to shooting Superman: Legacy, look no further than a new picture posted by the filmmaker (and DC Studios co-chief) of him and his cast assembled in Atlanta for a table read. Take a look:
Standing with the writer/director as well as producer Peter Safran (who co-oversees the DC movie arm of Warner Bros. with him) are David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardener), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) and María Gabriela de Faría (Angela Spica/The Engineer). Not pictured? Sean Gunn, who is playing Maxwell Lord. And – assuming the Gunn regular is actually going to be in the film – Michael Rooker, possibly just off to the side, wondering why he was asked to get the coffee.
Standing with the writer/director as well as producer Peter Safran (who co-oversees the DC movie arm of Warner Bros. with him) are David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardener), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) and María Gabriela de Faría (Angela Spica/The Engineer). Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... the sun reflecting off Lex Luthor's bald head?
Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran effectively took over DC Studios and set up shop with their grand vision for the superhero universe on the big screen, all eyes have been firmly fixed on the first official debut of the new franchise. Fittingly enough, that'll take shape with a brand-new movie centered on the Man of Steel himself in "Superman: Legacy." The fandom has been abuzz about the idea of returning to a more traditional version of Superman, one that will (presumably) end up a far cry from the darker and edgier approach taken by Zack Snyder. But that's not to say all elements will be new and unfamiliar -- though we know we'll be skipping the origin story this time around, new Superman actor David Corenswet will...

To celebrate the ramp up of Superman: Legacy‘s production in Atlanta, director/scribe and co-dc boss James Gunn posted a photo of the cast on Instagram today.
“After the table read with the ‘Superman’ cast,” Gunn wrote. “Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day.”
Of note in the photo is a bald-headed Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The actor follows in the footsteps of such actors as Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey and Jesse Eisenberg who’ve played the villain on the big screen.
David Corenswet is playing the title role, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan is Lois Lane. Also in the photo are Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillon (Guy Gardner), Isabela Mercad (Hawkgirl) and more.
