One of the most surprising games of E3 2016, Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, will not be on stage this year when Sony presents their wares. Read Kojima's tweet below and see if you can decipher it. Plus, find out when you can see the man, himself, live and in person at E3!
When we began on the long, winding road to E3 2017, one of the games we were most excited to get an update on was Hideo Kojima's first game since Konami, Death Stranding. Alas, we aren't so lucky this year as Kojima has tweeted out that his team has decided to forego E3 2017 in favor of spending that time developing. That didn't mean Kojima, himself, wouldn't still be in attendance, though.
Apologies to our fans, Death Stranding will not be @ E3 as we are fully focused on development. Pls see me with @geoffkeighley on 6/14! pic.twitter.com/w...

Hollywood’s sound pros nominated Birdman and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for three awards apiece as the Motion Picture Sound Editors unveiled nods for its 62nd Mpse Golden Reel Awards, honoring the best feature film, television, animation and computer entertainment work of the year.
“2014 was a fantastic year for sound,” said Mpse president Frank Morrone. “The advent of new distribution channels, streaming services and gaming platforms is creating additional opportunities for sound artists to practice their craft beyond the traditional venues of film and television. This year’s nominations reflect that change, spanning an amazing diversity of mediums and genres, all executed at the highest level of creativity. We are truly inspired and impressed by the work of our colleagues.”
This year’s Golden Reels will additionally honor Noah director Darren Aronofsky with the Mpse’s annual Filmmaker Award. Oscar winner Skip Lievsay, known for his work...

Amid its bombastic gameplay reveal and the fantastic introduction of the game’s narcissistic villain, Ubisoft announced that those players who have Far Cry 4 will be able to participate in co-op play with a friend who doesn’t own a copy themselves.
The unique feature, billed as multiplayer sharing, is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 and will allow those with PlayStation Plus subscriptions to invite their online companions into Ubisoft’s Himalayan-set shooter for a bout of open-world mayhem.
Upon unveiling the incentive, Far Cry 4’s executive producer, Dan Hay, outlined the mantra behind the novel feature:
“The way we built it was we wanted to make sure to protect the autonomy of the single-player experience. We’re going to be generous. We want you to basically download the game, jump in your buddy’s game, play as Hurk, play for a couple [of] hours.”
Currently, Ubisoft has set the number...

Ubisoft has announced the release of the blockbuster video game sequel "Far Cry 4" which will hit stores on November 18th in North America and November 20th in Europe. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS3, XB1 & XB360.
"Far Cry 4" is set in the Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan region ruled by a despotic self-appointed king. Executive producer Dan Hay says the studio "wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise and exceed fan expectations."
Ubisoft Montreal, Toronto, Kiev, and Shanghai studios, as well as Red Storm ("Ghost Recon: Future Soldier") are collaborating on the game. "Drive" composer Cliff Martinez is rumored to be involved but that hasn't been confirmed.
Pre-orders will receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition which includes "Hurk's Redemption" - three single-player missions featuring Far Cry 3's popular character Hurk. The character's signature harpoon gun is also included.

Far Cry fans who’ve been following the open-world shooter franchise’s forthcoming entry have no doubt heard its postcard-perfect setting is populated by more than a few psychos and sociopaths. Home to sickos of all stripes–from a mow-hawked madman to a self-medicating physician–the exotic locale is the ideal vacation spot…if your name is Benjamin Linus or Doctor Moreau. Based on my recent conversation with Far Cry 3’s producer Dan Hay, however, it seems this colorful cast of crazies represents just one of the threats attempting to turn unsuspecting tourists into permanent island inhabitants.

The fact that your character was afflicted with malaria in Far Cry 2 became more than an occasional, somewhat irritating visual effect. It was the basis of many of your interactions and drove the plot to a rather substantial degree. It has now been revealed, amongst other details, that this malarial mechanic has been cured for Far Cry 3.
Speaking with Kotaku, Far Cry 3‘s producer Dan Hay revealed the following details about the third in the franchise:
The friend system isn’t back. Fire propagation is back. A fast-travel system has been implemented. People stay dead so when you “own an area, you own the area.” Guns will no longer rust. No malaria-pills required. The game’s map is an archipelago so, the single-player campaign is on one island; the four-player co-op on another; the PvP is on yet another. The in-game editor lets you build you own islands and maps.

As it turns out, Jason Brody’s trip to paradise will occur later than expected. Ubisoft just announced that news, stating that Far Cry 3 will bring the traveller’s nightmare to digital life on December 4th here in North America. The game’s Emea release will occur several days earlier, on November 29.
“We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience,” said Dan Hay, producer at Ubisoft. “Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.”
It feels like I’m always saying the same thing when it comes to delays, but I honestly don’t mind them. After all, it’s better to play a finely-tuned game than one with issues that could have been corrected if it’d received more development time.

Far Cry 3 has been officially unveiled by Ubisoft at its E3 press event in Los Angeles. The first-person shooter will return to the tropical setting made famous by the first Far Cry. Lead character Jason Brody is able to alter the narrative by deciding whether or not to side with different factions. "[Far Cry 3] brings something new and unexpected, while still building upon the foundations of excellence that are inherent to the Far Cry brand," said producer Dan Hay. "Whether (more)...
