In the two-night Lifetime television premiere of The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, loved ones of the second wife of O.J. Simpson put more of a face and a voice to the woman whose existence has been overshadowed by that of her famous football player ex-husband (who stood trial and was acquitted of her murder and that of her friend Ron Goldman, both of whom were found stabbed to death in her Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on June 12, 1994).
“Anytime you mention the trial of the century, people always say, ‘Oh yeah, O.J. Simpson,'” Nicole’s sister Dominique Brown says, speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in the conversation below. “They don’t remember the victims.”
Dominique and her sisters, Denise and Tanya Brown, have lived with that reality for three decades now, and it’s iswhat prompted their interest in creating a documentary about Nicole on the 30th anniversary of her death.

Though Lifetime first announced the four-part docuseries, The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, on April 12 — one day after O.J. Simpson died from metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 76 — the project has actually been a decade coming, says one of its executive producers, Melissa Moore.

Thirty years after Nicole Brown Simpson’s murder, her sister Denise Brown gathered friends and family to reflect on her legacy for the upcoming “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.” The four-part Lifetime docuseries doesn’t sensationalize the crime or the “trial of the century,” in which Brown’s ex-husband, O.J. Simpson, was accused and eventually acquitted of the murder charges. Instead, it is a portrait of Brown Simpson by those who knew and loved her. Its June 1-2 release also serves as a riposte to the media attention around Simpson’s death on April 10. In the three decades since her sister’s passing, Denise Brown has advocated for victims of domestic violence and helped pass the Violence Against Women Act.

Owen Wilson may have been in the MCU ever since he joined Loki led by Tom Hiddleston back in 2021, but the actor recently got an offer that most of the Marvel’s stars can’t boast of.
Seemingly a one-in-a-million opportunity that would make him a fortune, the offer was nonetheless quick to be shut down — and the problem here lies in the upcoming movie’s very controversial storyline.
Apart from being one of Hollywood’s biggest actors with a lot of acclaimed works under his belt, Owen Wilson, to his fans’ pure delight, also appears to be a man of his word with solid morality.
As director Joshua Newton has recently revealed, Wilson turned down his generous offer of $12 million to star in Newton’s upcoming crime thriller The Juice. The film will presumably tell the truth about O.J. Simpson’s scandalous arrest following his wife Nicole Brown Simpson’s murder.

Loki star Owen Wilson is still not letting O. J. Simpson off the hook for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Simpson was acquitted in the infamous trial that still has many people divided on the final non-guilty verdict. Wilson refused to star in the upcoming film, titled The Juice, which portrays the NFL star as innocent of the murder. The Wedding Crashers star was offered a boatload of money for the role.

While the majority of fans appreciated Wilson walking away from the project, a few believed that the actor should have respected the justice system’s motto of ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ The controversial film is being helmed by British director Joshua Newton.

A New O.J. Movie Stars the Controversial Charlotte Kirk (But Definitely Not Owen Wilson)
Hey, Hollywood, anybody interested in a partially finished film about how O.J. Simpson might have been innocent? One that stars Charlotte Kirk — the English actress best known for her previous role in taking down moguls Kevin Tsujihara and Ron Meyer in a 2019 sex scandal — as Nicole Brown Simpson? If yes, this is your lucky day. According to British director Joshua Newton, about 30 minutes of The Juice (originally titled Nicole and O.J.) is in the can, mostly flashback scenes featuring Kirk and German-born actor Boris Kodjoe, currently on ABC’s Station 19, who plays the late NFL star turned acquitted murderer. Newton, who has been working on this “satirical thriller” since 2015, says the picture’s main plotline involves a real-life attorney named Douglas McCann who got sucked into various conspiracy theories during Simpson’s 1995 criminal trial.

One of America's strangest celebrity sagas came to an abrupt, anticlimactic close when O.J. Simpson died at the age of 76 on April 10, 2024. The Heisman Trophy-winning running back from the University of Southern California became a professional football phenomenon during his 11-season tenure with the Buffalo Bills. He was blindingly handsome and charismatic, as comfortable in front of a camera as he was breaking tackles on the gridiron. Unlike Jim Brown, Simpson chose to keep playing football when he embarked on his acting career; and though Simpson was typically cast in supporting roles, they were often high-profile productions (namely the Best Picture-nominated "The Towering Inferno" and the Emmy-winning miniseries "Roots").
When Simpson retired, he continued to act while staying close to football as an on-field reporter for NBC. You never knew where The Juice was going to turn up, but you were never unhappy to see him. This was especially true...

Former NFL star Oj Simpson died at the age of 76 on April 10 following a battle with prostate cancer. The controversial figure, who was tried and acquitted in 1994 for the murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman, signed his will on January 24.
Simpson’s lawyer, Malcolm Lavergne, was appointed executor of his estate. Simpson’s son, Justin Simpson, is its successor. The estate was placed in The Orenthal Simpson Revocable Living Trust.
Lavergne told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the Goldman family will not receive any payment from Simpson’s estate – and he will do “everything” to ensure that.
“It is my hope that the Goldmans get zero, nothing,” he added. “Them specifically. And I will do everything in my capacity as the executor or personal representative to try and ensure that they get nothing.”

After the death of former NFL star and actor O.J. Simpson from prostate cancer this week, an interview with former President Donald Trump and Howard Stern from July 2008 has resurfaced.
In 2008, Simpson had long been known for his infamous trial for the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of the murders despite physical evidence linking him to the scene.
By the time Stern interviewed Trump, Simpson had also been arrested for robbery and kidnapping and later sentenced to nine years in prison.
“NBC went totally crazy when I wanted to put Oj on The Apprentice,” Trump told Stern.
When Stern asked why he wanted Simpson, Trump responded, “Well, you know, in your business, there’s a thing called ratings. I know this: If I put Oj on, I get huge ratings.”
When Stern asked if Trump spoke to Simpson about the idea, Trump’s answer was unclear.

O.J. Simpson’s longtime attorney, who was named executor of the former NFL star’s will ahead of his death last week, has said he will ensure that any claim the parents of Ron Goldman make to retrieve the millions they were awarded in a 1998 civil judgment against the accused killer will be accepted by the estate.
Attorney Malcolm Lavergne, who represented Simpson from 2009 until the former running back’s death on April 10 after a battle with prostate cancer, said that he wants to walk back statements made last week while speaking by phone with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday afternoon. Lavergne had previously told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’d fight to prevent a payout of the $33.5 million judgment awarded to the families of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman; he said he specifically wanted Fred Goldman to receive “zero — nothing” of Simpson’s estate.

Malcolm Lavergne, a longtime lawyer for O.J. Simpson and the executor of his estate, clarified his stance on Sunday about whether the Goldman family would receive money from the late former football player’s estate.
On Friday, Lavergne had said that the family of Ron Goldman — Simpson was acquitted of the murder of Goldman and Simpson’s second wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1995 — should “get zero, nothing,” from the estate, he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Goldman’s family are still owed more than $100 million (including interest) from Simpson following a wrongful death judgment.

Following the death of Oj Simpson this week, veteran TV presenter and comedienne Ruby Wax has written about the time she spent interviewing the footballing legend turned pariah for her BBC chat show.
Back in 1998, Wax travelled to Los Angeles where she spent 17 hours with Simpson. Writing in The Times of London this weekend, she says the moment he re-enacted his alleged killings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman – for which he went through “the trial of the century” before being acquitted in 1995 – wasn’t even the weirdest part of the day.
Wax writes:
“After a manic 17 hours’ filming, I asked him for the final time whether he was involved in the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. I was sure we could get him to confess. But he simply turned to the camera, said “no” and gave a rueful smile.

On Thursday, former NFL player and actor Oj Simpson died from cancer. Simpson made headlines in 1994 for the nine-month-long trial in which Simpson was acquitted of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in the so-called “trial of the century” after physical evidence pointed to Simpson’s guilt.
Years later, in 2007, Simpson was arrested on a robbery and kidnapping charge against a memorabilia dealer in Las Vegas. Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison but was released on parole in 2017, then officially released in 2021.
Simpson was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2023 and underwent chemotherapy treatment. In 2024, days before Simpson’s passing, his children, whom he shared with Brown, were reportedly made to sign non-disclosure agreements along with other members of his family. No deathbed confession from Simpson was reported by anyone who saw him in his last days.

As a one-time football great, O.J. Simpson’s initial forays in late-night TV were generally as a jovial guest, and even included a gig as host of Saturday Night Live on February 25, 1978 . But all of that changed in the summer of 1994, when Simpson became the prime suspect in the double-murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
Over the next year and a half, late-night hosts made a meal out of Simpson’s subsequent arrest and what was dubbed the “Trial of the Century,” which ended with the fallen athlete’s acquittal—a decision that all the “Dancing Itos” Jay Leno could have assembled would likely never have predicted.
Despite his acquittal, and the public’s obsession with all things O.J., no self-respecting late-night host seemed very eager to have the Juice come on and share his part of the story.

The death of O.J. Simpson at 76 leaves the fate of his estate — whatever of that exists — in question.
The football great turned acquitted murderer said in recent years that he subsisted entirely off of his NFL and private pensions. Many of his most valuable possessions were seized following a 1997 civil trial that awarded $33.5 million to the families of Ron Goldman and Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, both brutally murdered outside her Brentwood apartment on June 12, 1994. The weapon, a knife, was never found.
“It increases by 10 percent every year,” Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022 of the civil trial amount awarded to the Goldmans. “It’s a ridiculous number, none of which has ever appeared. [Simpson] never paid one single penny. Anything that we were able to take was through our own efforts of taking things away from him.”
But with Simpson now dead, the story could...
