A funeral procession emerges from the pitch-black center of a walled cemetery outside of Lisbon. Mourners move past the camera, but no one speaks of the deceased or of anything else. For the first 10 minutes of Pedro Costa’s latest, “Vitalina Varela,” wordless sound design and an immersive darkness settle in, the storytelling restricted to the aftermath of sickness and an unknown man’s last days.
Costa’s films often star first-time or other nonprofessional actors playing versions of themselves, with storylines reflecting their real lives, elements of fiction and documentary forming a seamless whole; as such Vitalina Varela plays “herself.” And as the film opens, and Vitalina arrives, she’s three days too late. The funeral was for Joaquim, the husband who abandoned Vitalina years earlier, and this three-day passage amounts to an anti-resurrection. Here, the dead stay dead.

“Fox & Friends” host Clayton Morris announced on Monday’s show that it would be his last, as he is retiring after nearly 10 years at Fox News and 18 years in broadcasting. Morris was honored by his co-hosts and crew with a montage of his best moments from the show, after which he thanked his co-workers Abby Huntsman and Pete Hegseth and discussed his future plans. Fox & Friends Weekend wants to make it clear: Neither the show nor Fox News Channel are in favor of internment camps, an on-air clarification necessitated after two guests uttered the words this morning in discussions of the London terror attacks. (See clip below). “Earlier on the show,” said co-host Clayton Morris, “we had a couple of guests mention the word internment, the idea of internment camps as a possible solution to this. I think I made it well-known my feeling…...

If you've ever wondered which is the bigger waste of time, Facebook or cable news, you may finally have your answer. On Saturday morning's edition of Fox and Friends Saturday, co-host Clayton Morris scored an interview with the family behind a mildly-amusing Facebook waste of time that centers around hapless dad Jeremy Basso dropping his infant daughter at daycare clad in overalls... and no shirt. If you're wondering why that's a big enough deal to catch fire on Facebook, you're obviously not a Facebook person.

Marvel recently changed things up with Captain America, giving the suit to Sam Wilson, the man formerly known as black superhero Falcon. In his first issue, Captain America: Sam Wilson #1, Wilson battled the Sons of the Serpent, a jingoistic hate group who oppose everyone that is not white and Christian. Keep in mind, the Sons of the Serpent have been battling Captain America and the Avengers for literally 50 years, seeing as they debuted in Avengers #33 in September 1966. You'd think this is something Clayton Morris, Fox & Friends host and the man dubbed a "comics expert" by Tucker Carlson, would know. You'd think!Fox & Friends dedicated an entire segment to this latest issue, because they object to Captain America fighting racists, apparently. Morris starts out by slamming the new black version of Captain America as a publicity stunt because "more and more Americans are going to see...

Is the Food and Drug Administration banning sprinkles in 2015? No, but that didn’t stop “Fox & Friends” fill-in host Clayton Morris from saying so.
“Say goodbye to your favorite sprinkled donuts,” Morris said in a segment that aired on the Fox News program on Tuesday. “They’re getting rid of donuts like these. The agency’s now regulating America’s intake of trans fats [which are] at such high levels, the amount needed to make something as small as a sprinkle on your donut may be banned.”

Fox & Friends weekend host Clayton Morris offered a rare apology Saturday morning for an offhand joke he made two weeks ago regarding Facebook's decision to add dozens of new gender options to users' profile pages. He admitted his comments were "ignorant" and said he would do his best to think before he opens his mouth about such issues in the future.

Exclusive: Tucker Carlson is about to get up a lot earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. Fox News Channel is expected to announce, I have learned, that Carlson will be joining morning show Fox And Friends Weekend as the new co-host. A Fox News contributor since 2009, the former CNN Crossfire co-host is expected to make his full-time 6 Am debut with co-hosts Alisyn Camerota and Clayton Morris early next month. Carlson will replace Dave Biggs, who left Fox And Friends late last year. This is the third cable news network where Carlson has found a home. Besides his CNN stint, the pundit had a show called Tucker on MSNBC from 2005-2008. Besides taking on the early-morning shift, The Daily Caller founder will continue to appear on the cable news network’s daytime and primetime shows. Related: Fox News Hires Herman Cain...

In an emotional announcement, Fox & Friends co-host Dave Briggs told viewers Saturday that he was leaving the show at the end of the year. Although Briggs did not elaborate on his future plans, he did say he was "not going away," an indication that he may be staying with Fox News. Co-host Clayton Morris revealed the news of Briggs' departure, to which Briggs seemed taken aback, saying, "I didn't expect you to say that."...

On Fox & Friends this Sunday, the co-hosts began the segment with Father Jonathan Morris, who was on to discuss Fox's continued battle against The War On Christmas. Far from agreeing with their outrage over The War On Christmas, Father Jon was only too happy to point out that the season was supposed to be about peace and happiness, telling the co-hosts, "You guys look so angry about this War on Christmas." Co-host Clayton Morris began by saying, "Jesus Christ is the reason for the Christmas season but across the country, nativity displays being nixed and Christmas trees being called holiday trees instead." Alisyn Camerota then teed up the segment, stating, "I'm going to bet that Father Jon, our religion contributor, has some thoughts on this. Are you...do you just gear up for War On Christmas?"...

Liberal gasbag Keith Olbermann got angry at the conservative gasbags at Fox News last night, placing the weekend hosts of Fox & Friends on his ever-expanding “Worst Persons” list. Olbermann described Dave Briggs, Alisyn Camerota, and Clayton Morris as “the B-Team to the weekly dingbats.” He stood on his moral high horse and took the B-Team to task for a segment where they stood on their moral high horse and took someone else to task — in this case, a politically-motivated mother who left her kids at home with her loving husband to join Occupy Wall Street. Camerota accused the woman of being a bad mother.

Thank goodness for media moms that aren't afraid to share funny home videos. Fox & Friends weekend host Clayton Morris became a proud father three days ago (as evidenced by the stream of excited "Thanks so much!"s on his Twitter feed), and, of course, was happy to show off his first photos with his son, Miles. What he wasn't quite expecting, however, was showing off footage of him changing his first diaper, which Miles' mom sent into the show without telling him.
