There’s a new entry to the red-hot collectibles market.
Brent Montgomery is teaming with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian to launch Mantel, a content platform created specifically for collectors of sports cards and memorabilia, comics, cars, watches and more.
Wheelhouse, the media and marketing company founded by Montgomery (Pawn Stars, King of Collectibles), and Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six tech and venture capital firm, launched the platform Tuesday in beta. The site will serve as a social media platform that will focus first on sports cards and memorabilia as well as trading card games (like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering, for example) before expanding to other facets of the collectibles industry. The site will also feature real-time discussion and connectivity with experts in the collecting space as well as original content, creating a one-stop shop for collectors, investors and more.
Evan Parker, the former Gm at The Athletic, serves as CEO of Mantel.

Peter Chernin’s North Road Co. has taken a minority stake in Omaha Prods., the busy production banner headed by NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.
The deal brings an influx of capital to Omaha and it allows the company to tap into the production and distribution infrastructure that Chernin is building through North Road, which launched last year with backing from private equity giants Providence Equity and Apollo Global Management. North Road is in assembling a roster of content banners with the goal of creating a strong independent source of TV and film titles for buyers, particularly those outside the U.S.
Omaha is already co-producing projects with North Road-affiliated Words + Pictures, which is headed by former ESPN programming executive Connor Schell. Omaha made a splash starting with the 2021 football season with the launch of its “ManningCast” alternative telecast of “Monday Night Football” featuring Manning and his brother Eli Manning,...

Goldin Auctions is a company dedicated to trading cards, contracts, rare papers, toys that belonged to celebrities or anything that means something to mythomaniacs… collectibles.
King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch
For most of us, this is a strange and alien world, but it is also a whole market to discover with the guidance of Ken Goldin, its CEO, who, in a attentive and entertaining way, will bring us closer to this world that moves millions of dollars and that, just with the jaw dropping figures and the strangeness of the subject, will leave you astounded with how exaggerated everything is.
How can a chrome be worth more at auction than a Caravaggio? Yes, for art lovers it may sound almost insulting, and it is at this point where the series puts all the emphasis, in the strange and bizarre situations and the exorbitant figures involved.
Beyond the cinematographic quality of the television product,...
