Chris Parnell (SNL), Cara Buono (Stranger Things), Dennis Haysbert (24), Willow Shields (The Hunger Games) and Illeana Douglas (Stir of Echoes), have joined the cast of In Fidelity, currently filming in New York City.
The Manhattan-set story centers around a happily married husband (Parnell) conflicted after permitting his terminally ill wife (Buono) to sleep with their well-known rock star neighbor (Haysbert) before she dies young. Shields portrays their blue-haired Gen-z daughter, while Douglas adds belly laughs as their eccentric confidante.
The project hails from Different Duck Films founder Rob Margolies (Bobcat Moretti), who will direct from his original screenplay. Margolies produces with Joe Grano (Werewolf Game).
“The film puts an inspiring and hilarious lens on death, life’s most tragically unavoidable topic,” said Margolies. “It’s my most meaningful project to date.”

Comedy Central has greenlighted 10 episodes of “Big Time In Hollywood, Fl,” a comedy about two haphazard brothers trying to make it as filmmakers after being kicked out of their parent’s house. Exclusive: MTV has ordered a pilot for Little Esther, a docu-comedy project starring young comedian Esther Povitsky. The pilot, which is completing production, is being produced by Stone & Company Entertainment. It chronicles Povitsky’s relationship with her (mostly male) young standup comedian friends, providing a glimpse into the young La comedy scene. Povitsky was discovered while Stone & Co was casting another pilot for MTV. Povitsky executive produces Little Esther with Scott A. Stone (The Joe Schmo Show), Rico Martinez (Viva La Bam) and John Mass of Oasis Media Group. Comedian Robert Schimmel died in a Phoenix hospital on Friday night, September 3 after fatally injured in a car accident, his public relations firm confirmed on Saturday, as ABC News reported. Schimmel died at the age of 60.
The incident which caused Schimmel's death happened on Thursday, August 26. The site reported that Schimmel was a passenger in his 19-year-old daughter's car when the vehicle swerved to avoid another accident on a Phoenix highway. His daughter was hospitalized but is expected to recover, while Schimmel's 11-year-old son, who was also in the car, was uninjured.
Schimmel was best known as frequent contributor on Howard Stern's radio show and had appeared on several HBO programs including his own special, "Unprotected". He was also a frequent guest on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien". He liked to make audience laugh with X-rated explorations of sexuality and vulnerability usually drawn from his own life.

American comedian Robert Schimmel has died from his injuries following a car accident last month.
The funnyman, who was a regular on Howard Stern's radio show, was a passenger in a car driven by his 19-year-old daughter Aliyah on 26 August when the teenager reportedly swerved to avoid another vehicle and crashed.
Schimmel was hospitalised at a medical facility in Phoenix, Arizona and passed away on Friday aged 60, his manager Lee Kernis has confirmed.
Schimmel's daughter and one of his sons, who was also a passenger in the car, were also taken to hospital but are said to be in a stable condition.

Described as “putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format”, the concept was created by novelist/screenwriter Amy Ephron, who is also attached as executive producer alongside Kevin Foxe and Steve Latham, Mark Koops from Reveille Entertainment, Howard T. Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment Partners on Monday announced they have partnered with the social-networking and micro-blogging service to develop the first TV series that incorporates Twitter into the action of the show.
Created by novelist Amy Ephron, sister of Nora and Delia Ephron, the show will feature ordinary people competing while on the trail of celebrities.
The untitled series will be executive produced by Reveille managing directors Mark Koops and Howard T. Owens, Brillstein CEO Jon Liebman and Lee Kernis, Ephron, Kevin J. Foxe and Steven Latham.
ShineReveille International will distribute both the format and the finished series internationally.

Variety reports that the San Francisco-based Twitter has partnered with Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment to develop an unscripted TV series described as "putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format." The project was announced with few details Monday by Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment. Comedy Central has renewed Mind of Mencia and the animated series Lil' Bush.
The network has ordered 10 new episodes for the fourth season of Mind of Mencia, featuring comedian Carlos Mencia offering his point of view on various topics, and is targeting a spring premiere. The show is executive produced and created by Mencia and Robert Morton.
Mencia averaged 1.5 million total viewers during its third season, ranking No. 1 among basic cable with men 18-24 in its time slot at 10-10:30 p.m. Sundays. The third-season DVD hits stores Oct. 23.
"Carlos Mencia is a huge asset to our network," said Lauren Corrao, exec VP original programming and development, adding that he "connects with our audience on every level."
Added Mencia: "I look forward to doing another season of 'Mind of Mencia.' I hope this doesn't mean I can't be on 'Dancing With the Stars.' "
