If you’ve come into contact with any of Larry Charles’ previous creative efforts – Borat, Brüno, and The Dictator to name but three – you’ll no doubt have a fair idea of what to expect going into the release of Army of One.
It stars Nicolas Cage as Gary Faulkner, a patriotic ex-con and unemployed handyman who’s described as a “modern-day Don Quixote.” That’s because, while down in the dumps, Cage’s bumbling protagonist receives a divine intervention from god himself (Russell Brand), who orders him to travel to the Middle East with a simple, borderline suicidal mission: execute Osama bin Laden.
Equipped with a measly sword purchased from a home shopping TV channel and little else, the results are frankly hilarious, and during his crusade, Faulkner actually made tracks to Pakistan 11 times in total. We know this because his ill-advised journey was documented in Chris Heath’s GQ article six years ago,...

Nicolas Cage is on a mission from God in the riotous, rather bizarre first trailer for Army of One.
Hailing from Borat and Religulous director Larry Charles, the upcoming satire fits right into Cage’s wheelhouse, and will have the actor portray a character that is quite simply larger-than-life. That character is Gary Faulkner, a low-life, clumsy ex-con attempting to make ends meet as an unemployed construction worker. But following a divine intervention from God above – played here by a wickedly charming Russell Brand – Faulkner plots course for Pakistan to take down Osama bin Laden equipped with a measly sword purchased from a home shopping TV channel.
Also starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, Paul Scheer and Rainn Wilson, if Army of One seems stranger than fiction, that’s because it is. Gary Faulkner became the centerpiece of Chris Heath’s GQ article six years ago after taking no less than 11 trips to...

Kurt Russell, who is about to hit theaters in Deepwater Horizon, opens up to GQ about a surprising number of topics related to his career, including his inability to call himself an actor, and his insistence that he has no regrets about any of his films. He also admits that he didn’t “play the game,”

In late December, when HuffPost Live journalist Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani asked R. Kelly during a live interview to address the numerous sexual abuse allegations that have plagued his entire career, the singer cut her off, questioned her intelligence, and abruptly ended the interview. Kelly's interaction with GQ's Chris Heath, however, is a different story: In a sprawling, detailed new conversation that reads like a character evaluation (the interview ends with Heath trying to catch Kelly in a lie), Kelly is more or less an open book. No topic is off limits — the singer speaks on being sexually abused by a relative in more detail than he ever has before; his relationship with his presumed ex-wife, Aaliyah; accusations of sexual contact with underage women; and even Bill Cosby. He maintains his innocence — as he has done since the beginning, and did to Vulture last November — but clears the air...

Amy Schumer knows all too well that she will most likely put her foot in her mouth. It's inevitable, after all, that the candid comedian will say something that rubs somebody the wrong way, and the Trainwreck star admits she's waiting on pins and needles for when that time will come. In her latest interview with GQ's Chris Heath, Schumer jokes about having everyone on her side and how being a woman in the industry "f--king sucks." "I truly feel I'm getting a lot of attention right now and it's just a ticking time bomb," she joked. "Like, I wonder what the thing is going to be that will make people want to burn me at the stake. Taking a break from his latterday role as revolutionary political Jesus, Russell Brand has signed up for a Nicolas Cage comedy, joining the zen warlock for Army Of One. Larry Charles (Borat, Curb Your Enthusiasm) is directing, and has also been rounding out the rest of his cast with Rainn Wilson, Denis O’Hare, Ken Marino, Paul Scheer and Wendi McLendon-Covey.The film is adapted by Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph from a stranger-than-fiction GQ article by Chris Heath (perhaps strangely, given Brand's antipathy for one of that publication's recent sponsors). The story revolves around Colorado resident Gary Faulkner, who decided in 2010 that he was going to be the man to take down Osama Bin Laden. His plan was to track down and wipe out the most wanted man on the planet armed only with a sword he bought from a home shopping network, a pair of night-vision goggles and...

Before you get too excited: no, Nicolas Cage won't be playing the infamous terrorist Osama Bin Laden in this movie - although that would admittedly be pretty amazing.
THR reports that Cage will star in a satirical comedy called Army of One for Borat director Larry Charles. And though this will be based on a true story, don't expect anything serious along the lines of American Sniper or Zero Dark Thirty.
Army of One is loosely based on Chris Heath's GQ magazine article recounting the real-life misadventures of Gary Faulkner, a Colorado construction worker who took it upon himself to find Bin Laden, including trying to sneak into Pakistan and Afghanistan numerous times.
Sounds a little like the Morgan Spurlock documentary Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, but hopefully Cage's...let's call it "unique" brand of acting will give this film a life of its own. Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph,...

There's been a lot of terrible Nicolas Cage movies made over the past few years, and last year brought one of the worst with the new adaptation of Left Behind. And the film has some serious producer power behind it as Harvey and Bob Weinstein have struck a deal for the North American rights to the film through the TWC-Dimension banner. Read on! The folks behind Zero Dark Thirty had better hold on tight to their accolades, because soon there.s going to be a new entry into the Osama Bin Laden-hunting genre of film; one that will star none other than the incomparable Nicolas Cage. And get this. Because existing material focusing on the world.s most notorious terrorist leader was a bit too somber, this one.s going to be a comedy! The crazy-eyed icon Nicolas Cage will team-up with legendary comedy writer and director, Larry Charles for a militaristic romp in the desert called Army of One, according to a studio release. The hunt for Osama bin Laden was so significant that we’ve already had a few movies about missions to find and/or kill the al-Qaeda leader. Most famously, of course, is Zero Dark Thirty, which dramatizes the operation that resulted in bin Laden’s death. Before that was the comedic documentary Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, in which director Morgan Spurlock jokingly travels through Africa and the Middle East in search of the wanted terrorist. Spurlock wasn’t the only “regular guy” on the hunt, though, as we’ll see soon enough in the comedy Army of One. Described as a satire, the movie will also be based on a true story of the “Rocky Mountain Rambo,” Gary Faulkner, a Denver-based construction worker who in 2010 went to Pakistan armed with a pistol, a knife and a samurai sword to take out bin Laden all by himself. Who...

1. The Man Who Sees The Future
The news this week that Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, purchased The Washington Post for $250 million led many to wonder about What It Means for the newspaper specifically and the future of journalism more generally.
The truth is, no one really knows whether Bezos bought the Post in order to serve as a charitable benefactor or because he sees the Next Big Thing coming around the bend. But as J.J. McCorvey writes in a new cover story in Fast Company, published with incredible timing just hours after The Washington Post sale was announced on Tuesday: "Given the astounding growth of Amazon, and the seemingly infinite ways it has defied the critics, Bezos may have proved himself the best CEO in the world at taking the long view."

The latest, and arguably greatest (look at that hair!), cover featuring Robert Downey Jr. arrives on the April 23rd issue of GQ. Downey first touches on how he fit into director Joss Whedon's wider vision for "Avengers." "I really just showed up, hit my marks," he says. "Joss would write some lines or I would come up with a line. It was very easy—it was so easy I didn't see how it could work."
The actor's contract allowed him a cut of "Avengers'" payday, which sources have claimed is close to $50 million. When asked if that rumor was true, Downey gives a broad smile and confirms it. "Isn't that crazy?...

Ben Affleck is one of the few movie stars to have managed to carve out a space in his public persona that allows him to speak more truthfully than many of his peers. Maybe it’s because he knows he can’t get criticized more or fall lower than he did during his “Gigli”-Jennifer Lopez phase. Or maybe it’s because we’ve watched him mature as an actor, director, husband and father, and he carries seriousness like an adult now. Whatever the reason, Affleck said a few things during an interview with Chris Heath for GQ that are surprisingly candid -- the kind of bald assessments that more people in Hollywood should be encouraged to give. Here are some of the best beats: Affleck is not afraid to say that Terrence Malick’s work, including the romantic drama he starred in this year, “To the Wonder,” is...

"I'm scared for her. She's got a lot of people around her... that's putting her in a great deal of danger," Cyrus tells GQ. "I know she's 18, but I still feel like, as her daddy, I'd like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she's been through, it takes a beating on you."
In the long interview, Cyrus told reporter Chris Heath that he blames the Disney show "Hannah Montana" for the current trouble in his family, which includes his divorce from wife Tish, according to PopEater.com.

Robbie Williams laughed at Kylie Minogue when he saw her naked. The pop star ruined his romantic chances with the Australian singer after drunkenly chortling as she undressed in front of him for the final scenes of the video for their 2000 duet "Kids".
Robbie, who is now married to actress Ayda Field, had harbored a crush on Kylie since she starred on TV soap "Neighbours" and when she surprised him by taking off her robe at the end of the shoot to reveal she was wearing nothing but a G-string he nervously burst into laughter. He revealed in his new book "You Know Me" out on Monday, September 20, "I just burst out laughing, which I don't think went down well with Kylie."
"I may have offended her too and she must have felt vulnerable being naked on set and being naked in front of me. I think any chance of...

London, Sept 21 – British singer Robbie Williams has in his book, ‘You Know Me’, revealed that he invented a new sport, which he has dubbed as ‘folf’.
Williams, 36, revealed that he came up with the idea for the game, which is a combo of golf and football, during his tour in 2006.
“A distraction on tour which has been recently reimagined as a convoluted 18-hole game which utilises his Los Angeles back garden,” the Sun quoted Williams’ co-author and pal Chris Heath as describing it.
“Right now, he’s not too keen on going out, but.

As he enjoys a successful Hollywood career while being married to one of Tinseltown's hottest ladies, Ryan Reynolds certainly seems to be living the American dream.
While promoting his new movie "Buried", Reynolds sat down with Chris Heath for GQ magazine's October 2010 issue to chat about topics such as his family, his career, the toll filming Buried took on him, and married life.
Kicking things off, Ryan chatted about how his family reacted to his decision to pursue an acting career, saying, “My family is as far from a stage family as you could ever possibly find. Even if my father wasn’t speaking to me, he would never, ever miss a baseball game. Even if he was upset with me for a month at a time over some trivial bullshit, I would still see him standing in his trench coat over there at my football games in the rain.
