Billed as a vampire comedy, Don’t Suck is the story of Pete, a burnt-out comedian who’s spent too much time chasing fame on the standup circuit. He’s finally managed to go viral, but it’s from using the C word on a cashier while trying to be funny. However, he and comedy club owner Danny dismiss it as her fault for being too easily offended.
That’s followed by Pete approvingly referring to Danny “Weinstiening” the students in his comedy class and boasting about being part of the mob that stormed the Capitol. That should give you an idea of where Don’t Suck is coming from, what kind of jokes to expect and whether or not to cut your losses and bail now.

Back when most blockbuster movie franchises became standalone trilogies and not cinematic universes, The Matrix Revolutions seemed like a definitive end to Neo’s story. He’d struck a deal to save Zion from the Machines and deleted Hugo Weaving’s infinite Smiths once and for all. But what had it cost him? His sight, his life, and losing the woman he loved. It was a bittersweet end to The Wachowski’s magnum opus, but a conclusion nonetheless.
Until now. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will reprise their respective roles as Neo and Trinity for The Matrix Resurrections, which is directed by Lana Wachowski, who wrote the script with novelists David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon. The unlikely sequel is billed as a revival, not a reboot, and will also bring back Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson. No, this is not me revisiting that bonkers Nicolas Cage Flick from a couple of years back… This Army of One features Ellen Hollman, a superstar bad-ass leading lady in waiting!
Sometimes a simple premise, executed very well, can get you most of the way. There is no simpler movie concept than a family member going out for revenge for a murdered loved one. If there is then please do correct me but I feel like these stories have been done to death. It is only every once in a while that something like Taken, Death Wish or Law Abiding Citizen comes along and revitalizes things and then we are back to square one when, for the following years, everything is a carbon copy.

"Thought you were dead..." Uncork'd has released an official trailer for an indie action film titled Army of One, featuring "rising action star" Ellen Hollman (who has a role in the upcoming The Matrix 4) as "1st Lieutenant Brenner Baker of the Army's 75th Ranger Division". Not to be confused with the Nicolas Cage comedy also called Army of One from a few years back. While out hiking, Special Forces Ranger Brenner Baker stumbles onto a Cartel's compound. Her husband's killed and she's left for dead. The Cartel made two mistakes, killed her husband and left her alive. They won't live to make another – now she's coming after them. The cast also includes Matt Passmore, Geraldine Singer, Gary Kasper, and Cam Bowen. This is pure jingoism action filmmaking with the added benefit of watching a badass woman take down bad guys. "Amy! No!" Paramount has debuted one final promo trailer for the movie Love and Monsters, formerly known as Monster Problems, launching direct-to-vod this weekend - skipping theaters entirely. This is directed by the South African filmmaker behind Five Fingers for Marseilles previously. Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee, he realizes that there's nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. Starring Dylan O’Brien, Jessica Henwick, Michael Rooker, Ariana Greenblatt, Ellen Hollman, and Melanie Zanetti. This is a very emotional trailer, and honestly I'm sold more by this than the first trailer. Looks like it might actually be pretty good. Here's the second trailer (+ poster...

Cameras have rolled again on The Matrix 4 after a five-month hiatus due the pandemic.
Deadline first revealed back in March that production on the Warner Bros / Village Roadshow pic was pausing in German city Berlin due to the disruption. Filming is now back underway, with star Keanu Reeves making an appearance in a video interview with AP to update on its prospects.
“Everyone loves the project and if you’re ever going to get in a situation that needs to be figured out…show business people are the best,” said Reeves. “We’re scrappy, we know how to get stuff done, we’re inventive, we think on our feet. It’s a great honor and I’m grateful to be working.”
Regarding the Covid-19 safety measures the studio is taking, the actor said the protocols have been effective and not disruptive to date. “There’s thoughtful, effective protocols in place.

Fox’s decision to pursue a Gambit solo movie turned out to be a gamble that didn’t pay off. After suffering countless setbacks, the Channing Tatum-fronted X-Men spinoff ended up being a casualty of Disney’s big-money takeover, but fans who were disappointed that they didn’t get to see a live-action Remy LeBeau fly solo now have the next best thing.
Actor Nick Batemen has uploaded an unofficial Gambit movie called Play for Keeps to his YouTube account, and it looks pretty authentic. The production values are surprisingly high, or at least no worse than the likes of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the film is packed with fan-pleasing references to the wider Marvel universe.
Directed by Jensen Noen, the 20-minute feature stars Batemen as the Cajun mutant, with Ellen Hollman as Rogue and Anna Butkevych as Magik. The plot follows LeBeau as he gets caught up in...

Cbm had a great opportunity to interview 6 stars cast in the 4th installment of the Scorpion King movie franchise, which is a direct to Blu-Ray movie releasing January 13th, 2015. A campy action comedy that departed from its darker third installment to become more of a family friendly movie. A decision that made the movie more interesting, funnier, and entertaining to watch. I spoke with stars Victor Webster (Continuum, Charmed, Surrogates) who plays the eponymous character of Mathuyus, The Scorpion King, who took on the mantle from The Rock in the third film after the first sequel explored the characters younger beginnings, with Michael Copon in the leading role. I had a wonderful time speaking to Will Kemp (Van Hellsing, Step Up 2: The Streets) the antagonist in the film, Drazen; the always amazingly beautiful Ellen Hollman (Spartacus: War of the Damned, Weeds) who Co-Starred alongside Webster as the would-be...

Want Spartacus: War of the Damned spoilers? We’ve got them in the form of two new videos. Sharpen your swords, because the promo and episode clip are on fire, quite literally.
If you’re all caught up with the Starz series, then you know that last Friday night’s episode, titled “Blood Brothers”, left Spartacus in a nasty bind. We are at the midpoint of season 3 now and lead by Caesar, the Romans are in full attack mode. Yes, the gate has been breached. Blood will spill. In fact, when we last saw Caesar himself, he was telling Dan Feuerriegel’s Agron, Ellen Hollman’s Saxa and those with them to “run”. If you’re holding your breathe, wondering what happens next, simply press play to pick up where the episode left off.
Can the city still be salvaged? Is all hope lost? Will Spartacus turn tail and run?...

While we're still in denial that "Spartacus: War of the Damned" (premiering Fri., Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. Et) will be the Starz drama's final season, it appears that the gory epic is at least planning to go out with a bang. The cable network has revealed the official poster for the slaves' last stand, and our titular hero certainly seems to have amassed an impressive army since the end of "Vengeance."
Here's the official summary for the final year of "Spartacus": The season opens and Gaius Claudius Glaber is dead. Many months have passed since his defeat, and the rebel army, led by Spartacus and his generals Crixus, Gannicus and Agron continue to amass victories over Rome. With the rebel numbers swelling to thousands of freed slaves, and Spartacus more determined than ever to bring down the entire Roman Republic, the horde become a force that challenges even the mighty armies of Rome.

Starz has announced that its series Spartacus will come to its finale with the third season, titled Spartacus: War of the Damned, which will premiere on Friday, January 25th, 2013 at 9pm.
Spartacus was initially a kind of response to HBO’s great but too short series Rome, partially owing its success to the popularity of 300, but managed to distinguish itself for being particularly violent, with lots of (sometimes too much, for my taste) explicit sexual content.
In addition to having to establish itself among the loads of current period dramas, the series faced difficulties during its very first season when its star, Andy Whitfield, was diagnosed with (and later, unfortunately, died of. R.I.P., Andy!) non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which lead Starz to produce a prequel mini-series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, in hope that he would recover.
Liam McIntyre then replaced Whitfield for the next season, Spartacus: Vengeance – and if I might add,...
