Samantha Bee’s “Full Frontal” is getting a kick in the rear from Warner Bros. Discovery.
The show, which became a signature program for the large cable network TBS, “will not return to the network in the fall,” according to a statement from Bee’s representatives.
“As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions,” TBS said in a statement. “We are proud to have been the home to ‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’ and thank Sam, and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work. We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them in the future.”
Over the course of seven seasons, Bee’s “Full Frontal” brought an aggressive and saucy voice to TV’s late-night arena, and one of the few programs led by a female point-of-view. Bee,...

“Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” was the first late-night talk show to go audience-less due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic. All of the others on the east coast are following suit next week.
It was a bit weird, but Bee put her best foot forward.

Current plans call for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” and Trevor Noah’s “Daily Show” will all continue as normal until Monday, which will be the first day with all crickets and no cheering crowds — no need for that “applause” sign.

Samantha Bee sent Full Frontal correspondents Allana Harkin and Mike Rubens to the streets to talk to Americans about what they look for in a presidential candidate and the answers didn't seem to have a lot to do with people's qualifications.
Harkin opened the segment by joking, of the more than 20 Democratic presidential candidates, "the majority of Americans are now running for president." She and Rubens then spoke to pedestrians to see who they planned to vote for in 2020 and why.

When Full Frontal With Samantha Bee first launched on TBS in February 2016, it was heralded for the fact that a woman was finally entering the late-night fray, cracking the glass ceiling sealed shut by the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert and John Oliver. It was a fact that the host even seemed to lament, considering she spent 12 years on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart before landing a production deal with TBS, which also airs The Detour, a scripted comedy she co-created and executive produces with husband Jason Jones. But Full Frontal quickly proved it was more than just a late-night show hosted by a woman -- it had a whole different point of view.
“We always wanted to do the show from a really authentic place deep down inside our bellies, and we are 100 percent doing that,” Bee told Rolling Stone a month into the series, as it was very much defining its tone --...

“Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” tweeted an apology after the TBS show ran a segment that inadvertently mocked the “Nazi hair” of a cancer patient. The segment featured “Full Frontal” producer Michael Rubens as he covered the Conservative Political Action Conference. “This venerable conference has long celebrated traditional small-government conservatism,” the segment’s narrator said. “Just last year, Cpac was dominated by Ted Cruz supporters and chirpy little s–s with bowties, but Donald Trump, worried about a poor reception, canceled his appearance. This year, the bowties were gone and replaced by Nazi hair, Nazi hair, Nazi hair. F– off.

You might think the election of Donald Trump would be a godsend for political comedians like Samantha Bee. But honestly, it’s just exhausting.
“It’s a tiring experience to… wake up and have a fresh new world presented to you everyday, with things that you would have never expected to see,” the host of TBS’s Full Frontal With Samantha Bee told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday. “That presents challenges… for our souls.”
