The best and the brightest in TV came together at the Nokia Theatre this evening (September 22) for the 65th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
Neil Patrick Harris held down the fort as the year’s Mc, entertaining the star-studded crowd with show-stopping performances and hilarious skits with “How I Met Your Mother” cast members and former Emmy hosts.
As for the winners, Claire Danes scored a big win, taking home a trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while Jeff Daniels took home the prize in the Lead Actor category.
Meanwhile, Jim Parsons won his third Emmy for Lead Actor in a comedy for his role in “Big Bang Theory,” and Julia Louis-Dreyfus scored the prize for her lead role in “Veep.”
And last but not least, the cast of "Modern Family" and "Breaking Bad" were honored with Outstanding Comedy and Drama Series, respectively.

ABC TV has confirmed that Alex Dimitriades, Sophie Lowe and Anthony Hayes have joined the cast of the Matchbox Pictures screen adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas’ novel The Slap.
Production of the eight one-hour episodes will begin on January 19 in Melbourne.
Dimitriades will play Harry, Lowe will be Connie and Hayes will bring Gary to life. Other cast announcements include Lex Marinos as manolis, Blake Davis as Richie, Oliver Ackland as Rhys, Diana Glenn as Sandi, Toula Tianni as Koula and Eugenia Fragos as Elisavet. These actors join the previously announced cast members Melissa George, Sophie Okonedo, Essie Davis and Jonathan Lapaglia, who will also star.
The Slap is produced by Tony Ayres, Helen Bowden and Michael McMahon, and the team of directors includes Jessica Hobbs, Matthew Saville, Tony Ayres and Robert Connolly.
International sales will be managed by UK-based distributor Dcd Rights.
