Every time your dog sticks its head out of the car window as you’re driving, just imagine him talking like Kevin Costner. The Oscar winner lends his voice to Enzo, a Golden Retriever, in the 20th Century Fox film “The Art of Racing in the Rain.”
The film’s story is told through the eyes of that adorable pup, who looks after his owner, played by Milo Ventimiglia, and his owner’s bride-to-be, played by Amanda Seyfried. But he also waxes poetic about his own dreams to live like a human and be a racer himself.
“Call it fate, call it luck. All I knew was I was meant to be his dog,” Enzo says in the trailer. “The best drivers don’t dwell on the future or the past. The best drivers focus only on the present.”

Killer gummy bears, deadly ventriloquist dolls, and creepy creatures, oh my.
Sony’s first trailer for “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” explores these childhood horrors. The film follows a pair of friends — portrayed by “It” star Jeremy Ray Taylor and “Castle Rock’s” Caleel Harris — who enter a dilapidated old house occupied by famed author R.L. Stine. “I don’t think this house is giving out candy,” Harris’ character muses.
Taylor decides to open a locked book that unleashes Slappy the Dummy, who snarls, “Did you miss me?”
Mayhem ensues as other creatures come to life. By the end of the trailer, the kids are being menaced by a group of angry gummy bears.
The cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong. Ari Sandel — whose credits range from “The Duff” to “When We First Met” — directs from a script by Rod Lieber.

Sony has released the first trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, the Ari Sandel-directed sequel based on one of the multiple iterations of R.L. Stine’s popular book series.
No Jack Black in Goosebumps 2, but we have a new group of kids led by It star Jeremy Ray Taylor and Caleel Harris (Castle Rock).
In the sequel, two kids (Taylor and Harris) wander into Stine’s old house — “I don’t think this house is giving out candy,” says one. The real craziness begins when they find a locked book that unleashes Slappy. “Did you miss me?” asks the dummy who then sets off to bring more creatures to life on Halloween.
Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Chris Parnell (Archer), and Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) round out the cast. Sandel directs from a script by Rod Lieber. Neal H. Moritz produces via his Original Film shingle,...

Generations of horror hounds were ushered into the genre via R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books. Siting atop the shelves of libraries around the world with their vibrantly colored spines just waiting to be grabbed by young readers, the influential series is being brought to the big screen by Columbia Pictures next summer, and a meme maker for the upcoming feature reveals familiar faces from the page that will create scares onscreen.
The Goosebumps meme maker is now available for fans to use. The online workshop allows users to take official images from the film and write original captions to display in memes. Many of the images show monsters from the film that fans will recognize from several Goosebumps series. An evil ventriloquist dummy who’s brought to life when the magic words are spoken, Slappy appeared in the Night of the Living Dummy saga of the original Goosebumps series, becoming one of the most well-recognized and creepy villains to readers of R. L. Stine’s books. Now that a Goosebumps movie is filming, those same readers are eager to learn what monsters will be featured in the movie, and should be pleased with the new film stills.
In these first few images, we get another look at Jack Black as R. L. Stine, but we also get to see creatures other than the zombies shown in previously unveiled photos. Slappy the Dummy is shown looking very similar to how he was portrayed on the Goosebumps covers, with his black hair, wide eyes, and red bow tie. He’s behind the wheel of a car, which could make for one wild ride.

Slappy the Dummy, Monster Blood, the HorrorLand clan: these are just a few antagonists from R. L. Stine’s popular Goosebumps book series that may still send a nostalgic shiver down your spine. Though we don’t know for certain which creatures will appear in the upcoming Goosebumps movie, there’s a good chance we’ll find out during Comic-Con, as a panel featuring clips of the monster creation process for the Goosebumps film has been announced, with Jack Black as one of the guests.
Columbia Pictures will have a Goosebumps movie panel at the Hilton Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom on Thursday, July 24th from 12:30pm – 1:30pm with director Rob Letterman and the actor who will portray R. L. Stine: Jack Black. According to Deadline, the two panelists, who have previously collaborated on Shark Tale and Gulliver’s Travels, will reveal clips of the monster-making process.

The feature film version of Goosebumps, starring Jack Black as R.L. Stine, recently started filming and was originally set for an early 2016 release date. Vin Diesel has built up a very strong partnership with Universal over the years, with both his Fast and Furious and Riddick franchises set up at the studio. Now it looks like he’ll soon be working with them once more, and reuniting with producer Neal H. Moritz, for an action-adventure movie titled World’s Most Wanted.
As of yet, there are no specifics on plot details or character descriptions. But it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that Diesel will be front and centre. And, if the title is anything to go by, then he’ll either be like Toretto and on the wrong side of the law, or else unusually on the right side of the law and tracking those on the opposite side.
Either way, a new Vin Diesel movie is always something to look forward to.

Exclusive: Universal Pictures has set Vin Diesel to star in World's Most Wanted, an action adventure that Dan Mazeau will rewrite. The project originated from a pitch by Will Staples & Sean O’Keefe, who wrote an earlier draft. Neal Moritz will produce for his Original Films with Diesel for his One Race Films. Samantha Vincent and Tania Landau will executive produce. This deal reunites Diesel with Moritz, who has produced The Fast And The Furious series, on which Diesel is now a producer, as well as xXx (they are developing a sequel). Diesel was just at Comic-Con for Riddick, as the crowd waited in vain for clarity on his possible participation in The Avengers sequel, or perhaps even playing Luke Cage in a movie. As for Mazeau, he co-wrote with David Leslie Johnson Wrath Of The Titans for Warner Bros. He recently adapted the popular Japanese manga series Bleach...

Future 24 writer Mark Bomback has been tapped to pen The Art of Racing in the Rain for Universal. According to THR, Bomback will adapt the screenplay from Garth Stein‘s novel, with Patrick Dempsey set to star.
The Art of Racing in the Rain is “centered on a family dog named Enzo who evaluates his life through the lessons learned by his human owner, a race-car driver named Denny Swift.” The novel spent upwards of 40 weeks on the New York Time’s bestseller list back in 2008. Dempsey will play Swift, and also produce with Original Film’s Neal Moritz. Tania Landau and Joannie Burstein will be executive producers.
Judging by Bomback‘s current writing history–which also include Live Free or Die Hard and the upcoming Wolverine movie–he’s definitely a hot commodity in Hollywood right now. Although his writing style isn’t quite my cup of tea, he...

The cast of the feature film adaptation of 21 Jump Street continues to grow. Earlier we reported that Rob Riggle was set to play the villain. Actor/comedian DeRay Davis has now been cast in the role of Domingo, "a tattooed leader of a biker gang that doubles as a drug ring." The cast also includes Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing with filming beginning this month in New Orleans. Jump Street is being produced by Hill, Tatum and Tania Landau.
The only saving grace for are Riggle and Hill. Davis is a funny guy and is a good edition to the film. It will be interesting to see Tatum in a comedic/action role. So far, I have not been a fan of his work.
Are you excited about this film?

Universal Pictures has acquired a disaster project set in a super-skyscraper from writer Mike Sobel. Neal Moritz is producing via his Original Films banner.
The story, like that of "Towering Inferno," is set in the world's first mile-high skyscraper, fictionally built in Chicago, and centers on the Donald Trump-style developer as well as on the daring crew that rushes in to save the tower when it starts to falter.
Original's Tania Landau will executive produce.
Universal's Donna Langley and Jeff Kirschenbaum are overseeing the project.
Sobel, repped by Apa and Underground Management, first hooked up with Moritz for "Animals," his critter-filled horror disaster spec set up at Columbia in which all the planet's animals, from wild creatures to pets, turn on humans.
Moritz is the producer behind Universal's "Fast and the Furious" franchise, the latest of which is slated to open June 12.
