Jujutsu Kaisen, one of the best new-age mangas of all time, has been inspired by many other prominent manga series. Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, has confessed to the fact that they have been big manga fans since childhood and have used this inspiration to create their own magnum opus that is now inspiring others.

Jujutsu Kaisen has elements that reference popular anime and manga series like Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, etc. Even fans have pointed out these similarities, and despite all this, Akutami’s magnum opus has managed to earn a place among the “Dark Trio” of the anime and manga world.

Tite Kubo’s characters in Bleach have a certain sense of uniqueness that ties them to the author. None of them have any feature that makes them look the same if not on purpose. Due to how individualistic each other the characters are, there can always be certain difficulties that pop up when it comes to drawing them.

Perhaps it is the eyes or those striking hair. It could even be the bankai of characters who got to showcase their powers and strength in the most mesmerizing manner. As such, for an artist with the skill that of Kubo, it takes patience and a lot of motivation to continuously draw these designs time and again. However, it is not just Ichigo Kurosaki that the author found so difficult to draw.

Tite Kubo is no stranger to fame. His work with Bleach has been extravagantly awarded and praised through and through. There are many mangakas, with perhaps little to no exceptions who were inspired by others. There would always be one manga or another that inspired them either right before their magnum opus’s creation, during it, or in their early childhood.

Inspiration has bizarre ways to strike and for the greatest artists, they find unique and different perspectives to create their masterpieces. The genius of a brilliant manga like Tite Kubo’s Bleach lies in the narrative, which has the ability to grasp the attention of fans for years. The anime and manga series started long ago but are still considered one of the best works of all time and are deemed inspirations for many other prominent anime and manga series.

The story is complex but structured, and it features an array of characters that are able to portray the plot exactly as Kubo wants. All of this is the hard work and brains of Kubo, and it truly makes him a brilliant mangaka. However, this sparkling brilliance of the manga creator gave rise to an odd obsession in him.

Some of the greatest authors can find themselves in a slump with Tite Kubo being no exception to it. Writer’s block and lack of motivation are two things that are completely out of control for any author, no matter their genre. Bleach is one of the greatest mangas of the shonen genre and although its ending isn’t particularly a fan-favorite, the rest of it stands as a true masterpiece.

There is no doubt about the fact that what Kubo has done with the series makes it both unique and precious. Holding its stance as one of the Big 3, Bleach has established itself to continue its legacy for decades to come. Such a vast story requires great amounts of creativity and dedication. Kubo almost lost it.

The third and final season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is most likely going to get a release date this year, and it will change the entire history of Tite Kubo’s magnum opus. Fans have been waiting for the longest time for the most important arc of the Bleach manga series to get animated and hit the screens.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War | Studio Pierrot
However, as they wait, some fans might have found a big flaw in the narrative of Bleach that might have affected their whole perspective of one of the biggest anime and manga series of all time. This flaw points out Kubo’s inability to perfectly portray the strong characters in the series and make them look deserving of their titles.
A Reddit discussion led fans to believe that Kubo might not have correctly drawn the power scaling in Bleach, and this led to a lot of confusion.

Tite Kubo’s creative genius knows no bounds. Bleach rules the world as one of the top shonen mangas, rightfully adorning the crown in the big three. The work put in the series, whether it be of the manga or the anime, has always shown tremendous depth of characters and their intricate designs. With patience and understanding comes mastery of one’s craft.

However, there are always limitations to one’s imagination. These can be of one’s own accord or due to external factors. Either way, they have an impact on the story and how it progresses. There is a clear difference between Bleach and the Thousand-Year Blood War. If it were only about the improved art skills, then the tale wouldn’t be so different and better liked. For the same, Tite Kubo knew he had to put his foot down.

Gege Akutami has always been one to pay homage to their favorite pop culture moments through Jujutsu Kaisen. Whether it be about anime, manga, comic books, or even Hollywood movies. Here and there they drop little titbits about the things they like. References are made throughout the course of the manga.

These references are not just a way to show what Akutami’s interests are but also with respect to the many things that inspired them to create such an impactful series. Through minor scenes or direct callbacks, these references further enamor the tale being told. The first and second seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen took over the world in a way no one thought. In a similar manner, the third season has the possibility to do exactly that. Although, they have the opportunity to add a Quentin Tarantino sequence to the mix.

Tite Kubo’s Bleach features a variety of attacks that the Soul Reapers use to fight their enemies, but nothing compares to the power and might of a Bankai. It is the final upgraded form of a Zanpakuto (Soul Reaper’s Katana) that allows its users to unlock the evolved form of their sword and use it to defeat their opponents in a battle.

Each and every character in Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen holds a certain significance to the story. As fans already know, the strongest army of the Quinchy, Wandenreich’s Sternritter, was the reason behind the war in Tite Kubo’s Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, as they served as the main antagonist of the series. They are extremely strong, and each Sternritter possesses power equal to or more than the Captains of the Gotei 13.

While Bleach is considered Tite Kubo’s Magnum Opus, it wasn’t his first manga. Any great work of art has several undiscovered or abandoned pieces behind it, and it’s the same with Kubo.

Tite Kubo’s Bleach has had its fair share of controversial moments in the past, but the biggest controversial moment of the entire story revolved around the captain of the sixth division of the Gotei 13, Kuchiki Byakuya. The recent wave of live-action adaptations of popular series has caught up with many prominent anime and manga series like One Piece, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. Fans are always hoping for their favorite anime and manga to get a live-action adaptation to experience their world more realistically.
Bleach Anime
However, Bleach fans might never be able to get this satisfaction. Bleach’s creator, Tite Kubo, once revealed that he doesn’t want Bleach to be adapted into a live-action series or movie because he drew the series specifically to be featured as a manga. Despite this, Kubo’s magnum opus did receive a live-action adaptation movie in 2018, and it might not have been as successful as the One Piece live-action series, but it still got decent reception and reviews.

In the 2000s, the shonen genre was dominated by the Big Three, featuring none other than Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. If we talk solely in terms of numbers, then Bleach has not done as amazing as the other two. However, Tite Kubo’s manga and anime series has continued to attract fans through its captivating plot, and a protagonist that stood out from the rest.
Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach
Unlike other anime series, Tite Kubo’s magnum opus keeps his fans hooked with its layered and incredibly strong antagonists. Aizen, who was one of the main villains of the series, kept things interesting as his Bankai was the strongest of them all. However, a fan has come up with a theory that he could not flaunt his true power as his blade restricted him from doing so.

Bleach has some of the most complex yet intriguing styles of fighting including the use of bankai. From Byakuya Kuchiki’s Senbonzakura Kageyoshi and Shinji’s Sakashima Yokoshima Happōfusagari to Ichigo’s Tensa Zangetsu. They are visually artistic, mesmerizing, and most importantly; dangerously powerful. There are many who work hard and dedicatedly to achieve their bankai.
Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, Byakuya Kuchiki’s Bankai | A still from Bleach
Tite Kubo’s skills allow not only a spectacle to look at but also a story to engross oneself in completely. There are many who can achieve their bankai, such is the case with how close their bond is to their Zanpakuto. At the same time, there are those who are unable to achieve the same. Aizen is the biggest example of the same. Although he wasn’t able to achieve that, his abilities did not make him feel like he was lacking one.

Tite Kubo’s Bleach is one of the most unique stories because it is based around Soul Reapers who are trying to protect their Soul Society from impending doom while also maintaining peace on Earth. However, the story is not the only thing that is unique about Kubo’s magnum opus. The name of the series also has a unique connection that many fans don’t know.

Bleach as a name felt weird to a lot of fans as it did not have any direct reference to the vast variety of elements of the series. For example, Dragon Ball’s name references the magical orbs that give rise to a mysterious dragon who grants wishes. This is why Kubo once revealed how he came up with the name “Bleach” for his magnum opus.

Tite Kubo created many iconic characters in Bleach, but Kenpachi Zaraki took home the ‘baddest gym-rat’ trophy. The 11th Division Captain lived and breathed battles throughout the series and became one of the most coveted characters.
Despite being so popular, Zaraki did not appear nearly as much as people wanted to see him in the manga and anime. His battles were some of the most celebrated Bleach fights, each more restless than the last.
An old comment from Tite Kubo will give you more insight into the author’s relationship with this particular Shinigami.

Comparisons between Naruto and Luffy have been going on since both characters entered the anime and manga worlds. Both of them have uncanny similarities as the main characters of Naruto and One Piece, but they also differ in terms of ambitions, mindsets, and the way they deal with their problems.
Naruto in Naruto Shippuden
However, the biggest comparison that fans have made between the two characters is regarding their way of dealing with their enemies during fights and battles. Both of them follow a different approach while fighting villains. While Luffy adapts in the middle of the battle, Naruto is known to employ unique tricks with the help of his jutsus.
Although using new tricks in dealing with the enemies does make the battle intriguing, Luffy’s ability to learn in the middle of the battle proves that he has a better battle Iq than Naruto, despite being the dumber character of the two.

The revelations made in One Piece chapter 1114 have shocked not only the One Piece universe but also One Piece fans. Dr. Vegapunk’s message is getting more interesting with every chapter, as it reveals the mysteries of the world from the past along with what will happen in the upcoming future.

Often, the special ingredient behind a successful villain is a tera-jerker backstory. You can see it in My Hero Academia (Shigaraki), Naruto (Itachi Uchiha), and many other hit anime. Yet, Tite Kubo managed to create one of the biggest anime villains with absolutely no backstory.

Bleach is one of the Big Three of anime. Even though it did not reach the same popularity as Naruto and One Piece, it still played a crucial role in changing the course of the manga and anime industry for the better. Bleach revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, who met a female shinigami, Rukia Kuchiki, and later became a substitute shinigami.
Tite Kubo did a great job with his magnum opus, but the fans always felt that the ending was rushed and could have been explored more. While most fans thought it was due to Shueisha forcing Kubo to wrap up the manga in a limited time, it was actually the mangaka who wanted the manga to end. The Thousand Year Blood War arc suffered a rushed ending.

When Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen first came out in 2018, fans instantly fell in love with the series because it introduced a band of negative characters who, despite their terrifying motives and ambitions, had a certain charm to them. Although every anime or manga series has at least one antagonist that becomes a fan favorite, Jujutsu Kaisen still stands out.
Sukuna and Mahito in Jujutsu Kaisen
This was because other anime and manga series usually have a sympathetic or sad background story for the antagonist to make fans understand the feelings and reasoning behind their actions in the storyline. Akutami once revealed that they don’t like the idea of using sympathy for villains.
They pointed out that the simple explanation of the collision between the convictions of the protagonist and the antagonist is enough to fuel the rage of characters like Sukuna and make them cold-hearted villains who want to destroy the world.
