Directed by Darren James King, April is a stark and somewhat grim reminder of what an unshackled British director can produce. Movies like Scum, The Firm, This is England and Dead Man’s Shoes. You know, true “cheery” Brit flicks! Films that are few and far between these days on account of… well that’s another conversation for another day. For every Child’s Play or Annabelle Comes Home it’s expected that a few low budget alternatives (or “mockbusters” as many call them) would be around at a similar time. Joker Clown though, is also jumping on the bandwagon of It and the sequel It: Chapter 2, so here we have a killer clown and killer doll all in one form!
Why the lead character ‘Lane’ purchased this doll in the first place I have no idea. There’s some attempt at an explanation which basically boils down to ‘she likes horror movies and it looks a bit creepy’ so she offers the local second hand shop seller £50 and it’s hers. Bargain!

Exclusive: Calum Worthy (American Vandal) is set to star opposite Patricia Arquette and Joey King in the first season of The Act, Hulu’s character-based anthology series from writers Nick Antosca and Michelle Dean and Universal Cable Productions.
Written by Dean and Antosca and directed by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, The Act is a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories. The first season is based on Dean’s 2016 Buzzfeed article “Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter to Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom to Be Murdered.” It follows Gypsy Blanchard (King), a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother, Dee Dee (Arquette). Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder.
Worthy will play Nick. When Gypsy meets him on a Christian dating website, he seems like the perfect match: A good Catholic boy who wants a big family.

Tagline: "Death is Watching." A few details are emerging from the cornfields for Curse of the Scarecrow. In the vein of Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981), Husk (2011), Sheldon Wilson's Scarecrow (2013) - Curse of the Scarecrow takes place after a tragedy. June and Carl have seen their parents killed, at an early age. Determined to find their killers, June returns to her family home, only to find the grounds haunted by a murderous scarecrow. This title, from director Louisa Warren, stars: Kate Lister and Cassandra French. Several stills and an early concept poster are hosted here. There are two synopses for the film. The shorter one mentions that June and Carl return to a family farm, twenty years after their parent's death. Not long after, Carl mysteriously commits suicide. In the longer synopsis, the scarecrow is waging a cornstalk filled war, on an entire town. The crows fly in this film!

Repo Men is generating considerable buzz amongst genre fans. What we have seen thus far displays substantial promise and it is somewhat of a happy accident that a debate over health care rages on just as it is about to hit theaters nationwide. Of course, no one is discussing the ethics of selling artificial organs for profit (and then collecting on debts with any means necessary) at the moment, but it is hardly far-fetched to imagine the possibility. The movie is based on Eric Garcia's novel "The Repossession Mambo." Garcia, who co-wrote Repo Men with Garrett Lerner, has also written the novels "Anonymous Rex," "Cassandra French's Finishing School for Boys" and "Matchstick Men," which is also an excellent Ridley Scott film.
