Embattled broadcaster 2Gb has had yet another finding against it by the media watchdog.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has ruled that the Sydney radio station’s presenter Ray Hadley breached the codes of practice for commercial radio relating both to privacy and to how the station then handled a complaint about it.
The ruling follows comments made by Ray Hadley on his morning show in November last year after the man called police, alleging Hadley had threatened him. The man had previously had an altercation with Alan Jones at an outside broadcast.
Hadley told his listeners:
“Um, in the meantime, um, just for the benefit of people joining me here, I notice there are two police officers outside.

Sydney’s Wsfm breakfast duo Jonesy & Amanda have won top prize at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller picked up best on air team in the metro FM category.
Keller said: “To get industry recognition for the hard work we’ve put in over many years means a lot, I haven’t been this excited since the Ladybirds won the under 11 netball grand-final. Our production team are the best in the business and our show is an important part of our audience’s lives, what could be better than that?”
Meanwhile, Kyle Sandilands also won again, with The Kyle & Jackie O Show picking up best networked program.
Winner of the best On-Air Team (Metro Am) was the Continuous Call Team of Ray Hadley, Steve Roach, Darryl Brohman and Bob Fulton, from 2Gb. They team also won Best Sports Event Coverage for their call of the 2011 Nrl Grand Final.

The Sydney Morning Herald’s Kate McClymont was the big winner at Nsw journalism celebration The Kennedy Awards.
McClymont won scoop of the year, outstanding investigative reporting and Nsw reporter of the year for her work for the Fairfax Media title on the Craig Thomson scandal.
The Kennedy Awards – run for the first time – celebrate Fairfax crime journalist Les Kennedy who died a year ago.
Fairfax won the most awards, picking up 12 on the night. News Limited took out six, mainly for the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, along with The Daily Advertiser Wagga Wagga being recognised for outstanding regional reporting.
Next came The ABC with four awards, including two for Four Corners’ Quentin McDermott.

Independent news site The Global Mail picked up its first major honour with an award for photographer Mike Bowers.

Fairfax has dominated the short list for the first Kennedy Awards for journalism in Nsw.
The awards are to commemorate crime reporter Les Kennedy.
The shortlists were announce last night.
Fairfax had 34 shortlistings with News Ltd next in the running with 12. Then came the ABC with nine and Seven with a total of seven shortlistings.
Embarrassingly for Nine Network (four) and Ten Network (three) both were beaten by the new, philanthopically funded website Global Mail which scored five shortlistings.
2Gb was shortlisted four times, Sbs twice and 2Ue once.

Ray Hadley has been issued with a restraining order by a man he says he has never met. 44-year-old Matt John Murdoch, who has an assault conviction and has declared himself bankrupt in the past, reportedly sought the Avo when the government de-registered his charity following publicity from Hadley. According to The Daily Telegraph, Murdoch has claimed that the 2Gb radio presenter is an ex-business partner of his and has been "stalking" him since 2005, but Hadley has denied the allegation. Murdoch said: "Recent incidents, within the last 12 months, include telephone calls [from Hadley] with threats to 'bring me down' and 'fix you up'." (more)...
