The Sonis a drama movie written and directed by Florian Zeller, based on his own play.. Starring Hugh Jackman and Laura Dern.
Excellent acting in an “actor’s film”.
Storyline
A successful attorney, with a new wife and a baby, accepts taking care of his adolescent son from a previous marriage after his ex wife tells him she is worried about the boy´s random behavior.
Movie Review El Hijo (2022)
Excellent, well directed, good screenplay… one really had to have a bad day, a truly bad day to want to face two hours of skin deep feelings with the emotional problems of a son, worried parents and a drama that is great for actors to act in, but you will be wanting to be (truly) wanting to watch this.
Around here we usually say that we judge a movie, not the subject and we try to focus on the artistic virtues of the art,...

"What do you two really think of each other?" Trinity Creative has revealed the official US trailer for the dark comedy film Decrypted, a wacky crypto film made by filmmaker Tom Sands. After debuting last year in the UK, the film is now available to watch on VOD in the US if anyone is curious - "the feature film that is taking the crypto community by storm." An outrageous and provocative film about a mismatched Nsa team who kidnap Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, to get the info they need to destroy cryptocurrencies. The botched interrogation forces together a group of people who then get into all kinds of trouble. The cast includes Talisa Garcia, Sophia Myles, David Hoflin, Amanda Abbington, Kevin McNally, Clive Francis, Aki Kotabe, Don Gilet, and Sophie Barker. This looks too dumb and kooky to be any good. But I'm glad someone is willing to...

When an extremely mismatched team of National Security Agency operatives take on a covert mission to kidnap the creator of Bitcoin – Satoshi Nakamoto – to extract, by any means necessary, the information they need to destroy cryptocurrencies, things go wildly wayward in this raucous romp. The botched Nsa interrogation forces together a homophobic field agent, a feminist technical adviser, a transgender asylum seeker, a crypto-anarchist, a racist Brexiteer and an inclusionist MI5 agent. Of course sparks start to fly when their opposing beliefs clash in major way. But a truth drug reveals a newfound honesty with riotous consequences…

"They will erase Angola from the map. This is about lives." GKids has unveiled an official Us trailer for an indie animated feature titled Another Day of Life, a much more adult-level film than most of the other animated films that GKids releases. The film first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year, and won awards at numerous other film fests throughout last year. A gripping story of a three-month-long journey that renowned Polish reporter Ryszard "Ricardo" Kapuściński took in the 1970s across Angola, ravaged by a war, in which the front lines shifted like a kaleidoscope from one day to the next. Adapted directly from Kapuscinski's book, telling the true story of a journalist and the lengths to which he'll go to report the news. Featuring the voices of Kerry Shale, Daniel Flynn, Youssef Kerkour, Lillie Flynn, and Akie Kotabe. This looks damn good, featuring rotoscope animation to...

Written and directed by Tom Large, the man behind 2012′s Beyond; and starring Marc Baylis (Misfits, Coronation Street), Akie Kotabe (TV’s Humans), Sid Phoenix (Florence Foster Jenkins, Beyond), Arcadia is a fast-paced London-based sci-fi thriller, mixing elements of Soylent Green and Elysium to come up with an ingenious, riveting look at a not too distant future gone badly wrong, where a corrupt government runs a cruel life lottery which one man tries to smash.
In the not too distant future, the population has risen to dangerous numbers and a deadly disease has gripped the world. To combat the death toll rising, ‘Arcadia’ has been built as safe disease-free havens for the privileged, where life expectancy is more than 130 years. When Everly (Hayek) betrays her sadistic mob boss Taiko (Watanabe), he sends a group of his most brutal men to torture and kill her. When she manages to get the upper hand and survives, she finds herself trapped in the apartment awaiting the next attempt on her life.
It’s a brave move to set a movie in an apartment which is basically one room, and not allow the main actor to leave it. There are a few cheats to make the world of Everly feel that bit more bigger, though claustrophobic but for the most part, this is about a strategic war in an apartment. While the action is thick and fast though, Everly is also about being a mother,...

Director: Joe Lynch; Screenwriter: Yale Hannon; Starring: Salma Hayek, Hiroyuki Watanabe, Laura Cepeda, Togo Igawa; Running time: 92 mins; Certificate: 18
Maybe it was because Salma Hayek made a compelling badass in Oliver Stone's Savages that she signed up for the bullet-riddled, entirely brain-free splatter-fest that is Everly. But she doesn't get to wear a suit here and strut with intent. Instead, director Joe Lynch strips her from scene one, makes her crawl on the floor, ties her up, cages her and generally makes her the subject of every sordid violent fantasy he can think of. And, for what? Even slobbering Salma fans might come away feeling frustrated at the lack of an x-rated payoff.
Quentin Tarantino is the obvious standard-bearer for Lynch, who has previously directed B-movie shorts and one feature dubiously titled Knights of Badassdom (straight-to-video), but whereas Qt lavishes as much attention on characterisation as bloodletting, Lynch doesn't see the need.

Salma Hayek says “Yippee-ki-yay” to Japanese mobsters and hired killers in the international trailer for Everly, director Joe Lynch’s ode to Asian cinema and the action classic Die Hard. The Oscar nominee stars as a Yakuza prostitute-turned-informant who must find her inner John McClane and fend off assassins before she can whisk her young daughter away to a new life. Liam Neeson rebranded himself as an action hero with Taken and Scarlett Johansson did it this summer with Lucy. After recent turns in Here Comes The Boom and Grown Ups 2, can Everly do the same for Hayek?
