Singer Ed Sheeran was plagued with suicidal thoughts after the death of his friends Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne within weeks of each other.
He was heartbroken by the February 2022 passing of music producer Jamal, the son of ‘Loose Women’ star Brenda Edwards, who died after a cardiac arrest brought on by cocaine and alcohol, and has now said the death a month later of his late cricketer pal Shane Warne aged 52 left him feeling like he was “drowning” in his life-long fight with depression, reports aceshowbiz.com.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the dad-of-two – who has daughters Lyra, two, and 10 month old Jupiter with his 30-year-old wife Cherry Seaborn – also talked about how he developed an eating disorder as he compared himself to toned pop stars such as Justin Bieber.
He said, “My best friend died. And he shouldn’t have done. I’ve always had real lows in my life.

Los Angeles, Jan 20 (Ians) ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker Ed Sheeran has delivered an emotional tribute to his late friend Jamal Edwards in a beautiful track.
The music video opens with a shaky camera pointing at Sheeran, 31, who is lit up by two spotlights and standing in a circle of lit candles, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
Wearing a blue jumper and jeans, the music icon begins to rap: “Yo Jam, this is a letter to you, it’s been a while but it’s been hard for me to get in the booth. Since we last spoke I’ve become a father of two trying to live life with a smile but that’s been harder to do. Because all I want to do is talk about you, but these tears won’t let me talk about you. We should have known that we’d be lost without you.”

Ed Sheeran and Jessie Ware are among the performers confirmed to feature as part of a fundraising event in honour of Jamal Edwards’ charitable trust.
Edwards, an entrepreneur who founded music platform Sb:tv, died in February at the age of 31. A coroner’s report found that he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest after using cocaine and drinking alcohol.
The month after his death, Edwards’ family (including Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards) set up the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust in order to “honour [Edwards’] memory and continue his legacy” through “[supporting] those causes that mattered most to Jamal”.
Some of the causes central to the Self Belief Trust’s ethos is combatting homelessness, supporting people with mental health issues and providing young people with essential life skills.
The event will be held at London’s Here at Outernet venue, hosted by Terry Crews. After a champagne reception will follow a three-course meal...

Channel 4 has decided not to bring back The Singer Takes It All for a second series, according to Broadcast.
Alan Carr's singing contest with a difference failed to bring in big ratings for the channel when it first aired last summer.
The four-part series allowed viewers to vote in real-time for their favourite performers via an app.
Those who impressed the most were moved to a 'Gold Zone', and the contestant who stayed there the longest won a £15,000 cash prize.
Singer Steve Dorsett won three of the four shows, as well as total earnings of £42,600.
Paddy McGuinness, Rizzle Kicks, Pixie Lott and Jason Manford were among the celebrity guests during the series, while former X Factor singer Brenda Edwards appeared as a giant set of lips which commentated each episode.
The show had a consolidated audience of around 1.1 million, while its finale was seen by just over 800,000.
