The hits don’t stop for Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the trio behind Cobra Kai and most recently, Netflix’s latest No. 1 hit, Obliterated.
Obliterated is a return to the trio’s roots which began with raunchy comedies like Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (2004) and its follow-ups Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008), Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam (2008) and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011); American Reunion (2012); Blockers (2018); and Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), among others.
The new 8-episode Netflix series, currently available to stream in its entirety, follows an elite joint-special operations team assembled from various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and intelligence services to stop a deadly terrorist network from blowing up Las Vegas. Obliterated stars Nick Zano, Shelley Hennig, Terrence Terrell, Paola Lázaro, C. Thomas Howell and Eugene Kim.

Plot: Obliterated is a high octane action-comedy from the creators of Cobra Kai that tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.
Review: When an elite team of special forces, commandos, and spies team up to save the day, that is usually the end of the story. The credits typically roll on a happy ending once the bad guy is killed and the world is saved. The new series Obliterated looks at what happens when that celebration is premature in a blend of the team action of The A-Team with the drug and alcohol-fueled excess of The Hangover.

This article contains Cobra Kai spoilers.
Cobra Kai season 3 revealed the backstory we didn’t know we wanted – the harrowing Vietnam experience of Cobra Kai’s biggest villain, Sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove). Cobra Kai has been on point when it comes to filling in the personal histories of their characters. The writing team of Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Bob Dearden have keen eyes for details and find reasonable justifications for the actions of its villains. Johnny’s (William Zabka) abusive father Sid (Ed Answer) has provided some redemption to his character’s initial villainy. But Kreese has remained villainous throughout the entire franchise. We don’t need to rehab all the villains, do we?
Kreese’s origin tale is told across three episodes. Despite their brevity, they’re packed with clever Easter eggs for fans to find over repeated viewings and tricky red herrings that toy with fan expectations.

Despite last week’s episode of iZombie having left us on a cliffhanger with Ravi at gunpoint and the network holding its cards close to its vest by leaving him out of the trailer for “Conspiracy Weary,” his survival is seemingly DC TV’s currently worst kept secret when you consider that not only was he mentioned in the official synopsis, but is also front and center in a new promo clip.
What isn’t spoiled by the sneak peek, however, is how Ravi made it out of alive, so we’ll just have to tune in to learn that detail. Actually, the thread touched on here is that of Liv being suspicious of Major’s new girlfriend. Granted, this may be a result of her being on conspiracy theorist brains, but I’m guessing her concern is warranted. After all, there’s something unsettling about someone who reaches out to suspected serial killers,...

Now that we’re just weeks away from the season finale, iZombie is really kicking it into high gear, to put it mildly. Seeing as how last night’s episode left us on a cliffhanger that saw Ravi with a gun pointed at his head, I’m probably not alone in saying that next week’s offering, “Conspiracy Weary,” can’t get here fast enough.
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, Ravi is entirely absent from the trailer embedded at the top, thus preserving the suspense, but the network has already seemingly spoiled his survival by including him in the official synopsis. Yes, deaths that significant are normally reserved for finales, but you never really know these days.
Speaking of which, “Conspiracy Weary” looks like it may be the most action-packed episode since season 2’s finale. I’m well aware that fans of this series don’t want this to...

It looks as though every plot thread established on iZombie will explode in grand fashion when the two-hour season finale arrives next week. One view of the extended preview, which can be seen at the top of the page, will likely cause fans to countdown the days.
As we can see in the trailer, things aren’t going all too well for Major, who was arrested at the end of last night’s episode. Seeing as how he has reverted back to zombie form, going without adequate brain food could ultimately prove dangerous for both he and his fellow inmates. We all remember how rough it was for Liv when she found herself temporarily incarcerated earlier this season.
It also looks like we need to keep our eyes on those rowdy looking zombies in Max Rager’s secret basement. Will they break free and take a tour of the city?...

The CW has released an extended look at next week’s brand new episode of iZombie, “Reflections of the Way Liv Used to Be,” which looks to kick things into high gear as the season finale rapidly approaches.
What may make this episode interesting, among other things, is that Liv will inherit the traits of an ambitious scholar who was not unlike the woman she once was before this whole zombie fiasco turned her life upside down. With so many developments having occurred in last night’s episode, “Pour Some Sugar, Zombie,” one has to wonder how she will handle it all when she essentially becomes her former self – albeit temporarily.
Things are also heating up for Major, who has now reverted back to zombie form. Matters concerning him have been further complicated as Ravi has pieced together that he is the Chao$ Killer. I must admit that I’m...

iZombie, Season 2, Episode 5: “Love & Basketball”
Written by Bob Dearden
Directed by Michael Fields
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW
Since the beginning of iZombie, numerous characters have found out about the existence of zombies, with a range of reactions, from Ravi to Peyton to Major. One character who continues to be in the dark, however, is Detective Clive Babineaux. This week’s episode, however, sees him begin to peel away the layers to find the truth in another strong episode that reveals more about the extent of Max Rager’s involvement with zombies.
Max Rager’s relationship with zombies continues to be a compelling aspect of the season. While Vaughn feeding the board member to his zombified researcher suggested that it was a isolated project, the presence and facilities of Dr. Irving this week suggest that not only does Vaughn have a team working with him, plenty...

iZombie, Season 1, Episode 7: “Maternity Liv”
Written by Bob Dearden
Directed by Patrick Norris
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW
While Liv has been trying to stay under the radar following her turn to the undead, the man who turned her, Blaine, has been quietly building a zombie empire of his own, using the patrons of a local skate park as food to keep his clients happy. Over the past few weeks, however, both Major and Clive have noticed the large number of missing children, a move forward that came with the revelation that Clive’s boss, Lieutenant Suzuki, was also a zombie, and possibly under Blaine’s control. This week’s episode sees Major continue to pursue the missing people’s case, roping the press into it, as Suzuki appears to be on track to discovering Liv’s current condition, in a compelling episode.
