Fatherhood apparently has a way of slowing you down. Take Batman, for instance. He’s clearly not at his fittest in this new Amazon Prime animated film, in which he looks more like a burly lumberjack than a superhero, wearing dad jeans, a flannel shirt and a heavy beard. Fortunately, he’s not the hero tasked with saving Gotham City yet again in the Yuletide-set Merry Little Batman. That would be Damian, his eight-year-old son, who clearly takes after his old man when it comes to fighting supervillains.
Damian (voiced by Yonas Kibreab) displays the typical energy of a pre-adolescent, chasing his cat around the expansive confines of Wayne Manor as if they were in a Tom and Jerry cartoon. His father Bruce (Luke Wilson) is essentially retired, having gotten rid of all crime in Gotham City. But he’s still on call, meaning that when he gets a message...

Merry Little Batman Trailer: Bruce Wayne’s Son Damian Plays Hero in Home Alone-Style Christmas Movie
Prime Video is inviting DC fans to spend the holidays at Wayne Manor. The streamer has released a trailer for Merry Little Batman, an animated Christmas movie premiering on Friday, Dec. 8, which shifts its focus to a slightly smaller caped crusader.

Fall Out Boy, a band that almost certainly didn’t start the fire, lit things up at the MTV Video Music Awards Tuesday night with a performance of, well, their version of “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” It marked the third time the group performed at the awards show, following their 2005 rendition of “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” and their 2007 “suite” concert which included recitals of “Thnks fr th Mmrs” and “Shut Up and Drive” with Rihanna.

When it was released in 2010, Speak Now represented a milestone in Taylor Swift’s career. Penned during her first headlining tour, it was the first time the 20-year-old hitmaker had written all the songs on one of her albums. Thirteen years later, Swift’s third album is also her third re-recorded album, part of her project to reclaim her work from the entities that now hold the masters of her first six full-lengths.

Emo Swifties … our time has come. Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is finally out, with the hotly anticipated guest appearances from Hayley Williams and Fall Out Boy on two respective (From the Vault) tracks.
Fall Out Boy make an appearance on “Electric Touch,” a soaring song about new love. “All I know is this could either break my heart or bring it back to life/Got a feeling your electric touch could fill this ghost town up with life,” sings Swift in the chorus. For frontman Patrick Stump’s verse,...

It was always burning since the world’s been turning, which I guess is why Fall Out Boy have taken it upon themselves to update Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” for modern times. Listen to their inexplicable new cover below.
Joel’s infamous list song recounts the most important events of his life up until its release, covering the time period of 1949 to 1989. Fall Out Boy’s rendition picks up where the song left off, changing the lyrics to include newsworthy happenings from 1989 to 2023. Grab a limited edition 7-inch vinyl here.
From the jump, Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, and company touch on political uprisings like the Arab Spring and LA Riots alongside terrorist attacks both foreign and domestic, including the Oklahoma City bomb and 9/11. They also mention climate change (“Polar bears got no ice”), the death of celebrities like Kurt Cobain and Michael Jackson, and conspiracy theories including Qanon.

“Hey everyone, I’m officially back! I want to thank everyone for the love and support while I took some time away to focus on my brain and get healthy for my family, my friends and myself,” Trohman wrote on Instagram, thanking “true gentleman and scholar” Ben Young, who took his place during the shows he missed with the band.

Fall Out Boy records have surely generated a significant amount of tears over the past two decades, but what if Fall Out Boy records were made of tears? The pop-punk veterans have announced Crynyl, a limited edition vinyl infused with the artist’s real, actual tears. First on the docket is their latest album, So Much (For) Stardust,
Fall Out Boy hinted at Crynyl back in March when they posted an Instagram video of Pete Wentz applying tear stick, chopping onions, and sweetly reminiscing on his friendship with Patrick Stump, all for a secret upcoming project. Those tears apparently went towards one of the 50 copies available of So Much (For) Stardust on Crynyl, which come packaged in a gatefold box with a built-in, fully functional tissue dispenser.

The members of Fall Out Boy are weighing in on the impacts of AI and algorithms on the music industry.
In a recent interview with The Independent, the band discussed how their latest album, So Much (for) Stardust, fits into their musical evolution and extensive discography as well as their musical growth. The band, which has been around for two decades, has always played with their tone, with their latest album arriving as a “very low-tech” follow-up to the “cyborg” sounds of 2018’s Mania, according to lead singer and lyricist Patrick Stump.
It’s a blending of the band’s eras that also acknowledges the passage of time and the increasing rise of a “pretty not authentic world,” said bassist Pete Wentz, thanks to things like the metaverse and NFTs.
“We live in a world where it’s NFTs and avatars and my kids are constantly buying Fortnite skins,” Wentz said.

Like all the emo and pop-punk bands that blew up during the ascents of those genres in the aughts, Fall Out Boy have had their share of growing pains in the process of building a name outside of a scene. As they got bigger, they focused more on the pop element of their sound, careening into the natural fit of R&b for singer Patrick Stump’s massive vocals, arena rock, and the type of March Madness-core mess of electro-rock that would define 2018’s Mania.

With a trace of terror in his eyes, Patrick Stump is reliving the ultimate punk rock dilemma. If your bandmate looks like he may have just died onstage, do you keep playing? “His head hit this thing hard, and he was out,” the Fall Out Boy singer says, recalling an early club gig during which bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz took a bad fall. “I was like ‘Is he actually dead, or is he gonna wake up and be p***ed off that we’ve stopped the song?’”

Fall Out Boy just released the new album So Much (for) Stardust, and where their last few records dabbled in a more commercial sound, the new LP harkens back to the band’s most rock-heavy days. In a new interview with Variety, Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump looked back on their evolving sound, explaining that their previous shift toward pop — specifically on the 2018 record Mania — was a result of trying to “survive” pop radio.
Guitarist Joe Trohman wrote in his 2022 memoir that he didn’t exactly love the sample-heavy Mania, so much so that he didn’t really participate in its creation. When asked if Trohman’s bristling inspired Fall Out Boy to return to rock on So Much (for) Stardust, Wentz replied,

“Mark, Mary & Some Other People” opens with one of the strangest meet cutes in recent memory: Slacker dog-walker Mark (Ben Rosenfield) and brash singer Mary (Hayley Law) reconnect for the first time since college at a convenience store, where the former joins the latter in the bathroom — eventually singing loudly and crazily to boot — while she takes a pregnancy test. That introduction is emblematic of the jaunty weirdness of Hannah Marks’ romantic comedy, which concerns its protagonists’ ensuing decision to attempt an open relationship. Embellishing stock formula with plenty of personality, it’s
With a jokey ’70s mustache and matching curly hair, Mark is a good-natured goof whose self-possessed oddness (exemplified by his collaboration with his father on a “life cup” birth control device that works with saliva) is ideally suited for Mary, a Black rocker with long braids and a dreary day job recording voiceovers for commercials for...

Eddie Brock and Venom’s bromance is back in the latest look at Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
“There is no greater love than the one between a man and his symbiote. In a new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Eddie Brock and Venom are fighting with each other about whether or not Venom can eat people. According to Eddie, when Venom is living in his body, he has to follow his rules. But then again, it’s Venom, so the chances of that happening are slim to none.”

Just two songs into Green Day’s headlining set at the Hella Mega tour launch at Arlington, Texas’s Globe Life Field, Billie Joe Armstrong asked for the houselights to be turned on so he could see the roughly 35,000 people in the audience. This was quite possibly the largest rock audience that had assembled anywhere in the world since the start of the pandemic, and he wanted to bask in their glow.
“Take a look around you,” he said. “This is human contact. We cannot be locked up anymore. We need to be together.

It’s been 10 years since Gym Class Heroes released a new album, and the group has been completely inactive since wrapping up a 2018 summer tour with the Offspring and 311 — so frontman Travie McCoy was more than a little surprised to learn recently that their song “Cupid’s Chokehold” has become a TikTok mega-hit, with a substantial number of fans who weren’t even born when it came out back in 2005.

Weezer and Fall Out Boy squared off in a game of Celebrity Family Feud that aired Sunday night, September 20th.
Because both alt-rock powerhouses are quartets, each had to bring in an extra member, with Weezer tapping producer, songwriter and regular collaborator Suzy Shinn, while Fall Out Boy enlisted comedian Seth Green. The first round got off to a goofy start with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo exchanging what Wentz described as their first-ever hug, and which Cuomo said could very well be their last.

The current social distancing climate has artists turning to new ways of staying connected to fans, whether through Twitch or Instagram live, releasing cover songs, or in the case of Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman, dropping an entire animated series.
The Fob guitarist has released all 10 episodes of his animated series “Mondo Trasho 3042,” which were created with his friends Wade Randolph and Spencer Berman. Trohman kept the soundtrack in the Fob family, with music written by himself with singer Patrick Stump and bassist Pete Wentz producing. They considered pitching it around, but decided to release it for everyone’s stuck-at-home enjoyment instead.
The animated series follows the fictional band Mondo Trasho, which includes a murderous alien-fish creature and a robot, in the year 3042. The intro of each episode sums up the show’s tone and humor perfectly, “We’re Mondo Trasho. We’re a band. We should break up.

Lil Peep was barely 21 years old and already an international star when he died from an overdose of Xanax and fentanyl on his tour bus in Tucson in 2017. Peep was divisive in his lifetime; a gangly outcast from Long Island with a “Crybaby” face tat and hair the color of Fruity Pebbles milk, he sang lucid and dark lullabies about death, misery, rampant drug use, and groupie sex. In the critical establishment, reflexive skepticism towards his flamboyant appearance and unsubtle blend of alt-rock, pop-punk, and trap inevitably turned into curiosity,...

To his friends and family, Gustav Elijah Ahr was a sensitive, soft-spoken kid who brought joy to those around him and looked after them. To his fans, Gustav was better known as Lil Peep, a rapper and singer who found a following on Soundcloud and, within a few short years, was playing to sold-out crowds.
Unfortunately, his life would take a too-familiar turn in 2017 when the performer was found unresponsive on his tour bus. Forget 27, the age of many a rockstar who died in an eerily similar fashion — Lil Peep had barely crossed his 21st birthday when he died of an accidental overdose.
For much of “Everybody’s Everything,” Sebastian Jones and Ramez Silyan’s documentary on Lil Peep, the focus is on his life, from his restless childhood growing up in Long Beach, New York, to drifting into music and quick stardom. Compiling many hours of home movies and interviews,...

For those who were close to Gustav Elijah Åhr, the release of documentary film Everybody’s Everything next week may be as difficult as it is cathartic. Åhr, who performed as Lil Peep, died of a drug overdose on tour in 2017 shortly after celebrating his 21st birthday; the film spotlights dozens of friends, family members, and colleagues sharing beloved memories of the young rapper, who’d amassed millions of fans with his uniquely vulnerable songs and harbored a personal ambition to “revolutionize music.”

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump continues his extensive work in the film/TV soundtrack realm with the release of “Spell,” which comes on Nov. 1 on Milan Records through Sony Music Masterworks. The soundtrack features Stump’s music from Crush Pictures’ psych-thriller, including the ballad “Deep Blue Love.” a soulful, blues-tinged ballad performed by Stump and recorded exclusively for the project, which you can hear below. “Spell” made its debut at last year’s La Film Festival and will premiere in theaters Friday, November 1 and on VOD and DVD beginning Tuesday, November 19.
“Brendan gave me a real chance as a composer,” says Stump of working with director Brendan Walter on the soundtrack to “Spell.” “I was allowed to explore elements of my writing that I could never have without the narrative of the film. "Didn't really plan this trip, I just had to... get away." Dark Star has released an official trailer for the film titled Spell, with a screenplay written by the lead actor Barak Hardley. "Featuring a new original song and forthcoming video from Weezer, a fun cameo from Weezer's frontman Rivers Cuomo, and a 'sparse, icey' score by Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, the surreal tale made its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival to great acclaim, bringing home the award for 'Best Ensemble Cast.'" This dark comedy, "bizzaro thriller" is about an American illustrator who runs out of medication while wandering the isolated Icelandic countryside - unsure if his compulsions are related to his disorder or if he's being forced to unlock ancient secrets. The 2019 summer concert season hasn’t quite wrapped up yet, but one of the biggest tours of 2020 was announced this afternoon when Green Day, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy revealed they’ll be teaming for an assault on U.S. baseball stadiums in the summer. There hasn’t been a rock tour of this magnitude in quite some time, which Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says was what gave them the initial idea. “I remember, in the 1990s, there was this one summer, and Guns N’ Roses [and] Metallica went...

Summer’s approaching, the temperature’s rising – of course there’s a new video from DJ/producer Martin Garrix to welcome the occasion. “Summer Days” features rapper Macklemore and vocalist Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. The video, directed by Colin Tilley, follows an older woman who on her best red gown and walks around her neighborhood in blazing-hot Southern California weather, showing off to everyone she sees. Her beauty dazzles those she comes across, so much so that they all begin to, uh, perspire excessively in the summer heat.
