Joe Biden is planning another visit to Los Angeles for fundraising next month, when he will headline an event hosted by Michael Lombardo, producer and former president of programming at HBO, and his husband, architect Sonny Ward.
The lunchtime event is scheduled for October 10, according to an invite.
Their home has special significance for Biden. On a trip to Los Angeles in 2012, he met with Lgbtq activists at the Lombardo-Ward home and signaled his support for same-sex marriage. Biden revealed that he favored same-sex marriage weeks later in an interview on Meet the Press, and he mentioned meeting the Lombardo-Ward family and telling the couple that he saw the “look of love those kids had in their eyes” for their parents.
Other co-hosts of the event include James Costos, a former HBO executive and U.S. Ambassador to Spain, and designer Michael Smith; surgeon Phil Mercado and entertainment executive Todd Quinn...

Exclusive: Joe Biden is not the Democrats’ official 2020 rival to Donald Trump, but the former Vice President and the former Celebrity Apprentice host are squaring off like contenders when it comes to Los Angeles fundraisers this month.
Just under two weeks after the upcoming 10-candidate debate, hosted by ABC News and Univision, nomination front-runner Biden will be making another Hollywood Atm swing through town on September 25 and 26. As the race narrows heading into the final months before the first primaries, the ex-veep again will be courting deep-pocketed West Coast donors who are sizing up how he’ll fare in a real race with the current Potus.
According to an invite that went out on Tuesday, Biden will be attending an event at the home of Sean Burton, CEO of investment management firm Cityview, and his wife Teresa. Co-hosts of the event include Joe Waz, senior strategic adviser to Comcast Corporation,...

After reports that the budget has spiralled ($200 million!!), a script that’s still not finished despite camera’s rolling on the film weeks ago, the many writers attached no longer talking to producers (!) and production delays pushing filming back by a further 5 weeks, more bad news from the Men In Black 3 camp today: Alec Baldwin is no longer attached.
Speaking to Vulture after being asked about his role as the boss of M.I.B. in the 60′s “past” section of the movie that is yet to film, he bluntly replied:
“I’m not doing that. I’m out of it; the schedule didn’t work out.”
Shooting is expected to commence on the past portions beginning March 28th after a considerable hiatus, only avoiding further delays as long as its lead star Will Smith fully approves of the new script, says The Hollywood Reporter.

We shouldn’t be overly surprised by the news that Mark Wahlberg wants to sequelize his Oscar nominated Boxing drama The Fighter. The thing about Wahlberg is, he’s starred in so much studio dross over the years that when a film he appears in catches on with people and does well… he gets an adrenaline rush and he’s openly addicted to it. And that adrenalin rush usually leads to him telling anyone who cares that he wants a sequel to feel it all over again.
The exact same thing happened with the gangster picture The Departed. For months after Martin Scorsese’s film opened in 2006 and having starred in easily his best ever film and was getting critics praise beyond anything he had come close to before, Wahlberg tried his damnedest for about a year to get a sequel off the ground, and now exactly the same thing is happening with The Fighter.

Robert Redford announced today at a press conference in London that his successful Sundance Festival is coming to the United Kingdom in 2012 in a mini 4 day festival chunk. Billed as ‘Sundance London’, Redford told reporters:
“It is our mutual goal to bring to the UK the very best in current American independent cinema, to introduce the artists responsible for it, and in essence help build a picture of our country that is broadly reflective of the diversity of voices not always seen in our cultural exports,”
Sundance London is set to take place from April 26th to the 29th at London’s 02 arena next year, and will contain a selection of Independent films that will also be shown at Utah’s leg of the festival that takes place each January. Musical performances, discussion panels and classes are also going to be a part of the program.

Comic Book Movie have discovered a brand new (albeit Russian) trailer for X Men: First Class, and it more than makes up for those abominations masked as one sheets that were released a few weeks back. The most noticeable aspect is the deeper insight into Magneto’s (Michael Fassbender) character, something that the previous reel was missing. Also, the score is much more rousing and bombastic, which is just as well because the dialogue is dubbed.
But with all this Super 8 viral lark going on, I’d love to think that the text is actually cryptic rather than foreign, and the dialogue is actually English but is being played backwards. Wishful thinking never hurt anyone, eh.
X Men: First Class is released in the UK on 2nd June. I would expect English language version of the trailer to drop soon.
