The thing you need to know about Tim Tebow is that he is competitive.
People has spent a lot of time with the 30-year-old athlete and TV personality over the years, and has seen it firsthand — on the golf course, in the gym, even playing “let’s pass the time” games on a flight to Haiti.
In short, Tebow does not like to lose. Ever.
Unfortunately for Tebow, his time has come. Why? Because he has challenged People senior writer Steve Helling to predict which dogs will win the Westminster Dog Show, which is happening on Feb. 12 and 13.
Tebow is a dog lover.

David Koresh was one of the most well-known cult leaders of the 20th century, amassing hundreds of followers as the leader of the Branch Davidian religious sect.

In 1978, Rodney Alcala appeared on The Dating Game — the popular game show in which three eligible bachelors vied for a date with a bachelorette.
The show was heavy on innuendo. The host introduced Alcala as a “successful photographer who got his start when his father found him in the darkroom at the age of 13, fully developed.”
Throughout the show, Alcala enthusiastically responded to the bachelorette’s suggestive questions: likening himself to a banana, saying that nighttime is when he “really gets good” and acting out the part of a dirty old man.

In the 1980s, a serial killer was on the loose in Los Angeles — but his methods baffled authorities.
The killer used a wide variety of weapons: handguns, knives, a machete, and even a tire iron. Some of his victims were robbed; others were raped. Some were fatally shot.
Even more inexplicably, the man — who the media dubbed the Night Stalker — left some victims alive, seemingly at random. From April 1984 to August 1985, he killed at least 14 people.
Eventually, police identified the Night Stalker as 25-year-old drifter Richard Muñoz Ramirez. He was captured in Arizona in August 1985.

Before 2009, Philip Markoff was a preppy Boston University medical student. At the time, his doting fiancée Megan McAllister told People that he was “a beautiful man inside and out.”
But the perception changed in April 2009, when Markoff, then 23, was charged with the armed robbery and murder of Julissa Brisman in a Boston hotel room. He was also charged with additional armed robberies, each involving a female victim that he met through ads placed on Craigslist.
Markoff maintained his innocence of all charges, and pleaded not guilty. While awaiting trial in 2010, he committed suicide.
The story gained international attention, even landing on the cover of People.

Nearly every criminal leaves behind one clue — that one piece of evidence that helps authorities solve the case.
For Tonya Harding, that piece of evidence was an envelope. On the envelope: doodles, notes, phone numbers and addresses that convinced authorities that she had planned out the attack on her skating rival, Nancy Kerrigan.
It was just seven weeks before the 1994 Olympic Winter Games when Kerrigan was clubbed on the knee by an assailant who had been hired by Harding and her husband. Known as “the whack heard around the world,” the ensuing scandal thrust both young women into the national spotlight.

It was one of the biggest sports scandals in American history.
Just seven weeks before the 1994 Olympic Games, figure skating frontrunner Nancy Kerrigan was brutally clubbed in the knee as she left her practice rink in Detroit. The shocking twist: the assailant was a man who had been hired by the ex-husband and bodyguard of another Olympic hopeful, Tonya Harding.
The media couldn’t get enough of the scandal that had all the elements of a Lifetime TV movie: a beautiful figure-skating victim, a brutal attack, and a rival from the wrong side of the tracks. (The scandal landed on...

It happened 23 years ago, but John Bobbitt remembers it like it was yesterday.
On June 23, 1993, Lorena Bobbitt cut off her husband’s penis with a kitchen knife. Panicked, she jumped in the car and drove around Manassas, Virginia, before throwing the severed appendage out her car window. Police retrieved the penis in a field, and a surgeon successfully reattached it.
The incident marked the end of their marriage, and the ensuing trial turned John and Lorena Bobbitt into household names. Lorena was tried for the attack, but acquitted by reason of temporary insanity.
