House Hunting (2013) Review

Cast: Marc Singer (Charlie Hays), Art Lafleur (Don Thompson), Hayley DuMond (Susan Hays), Janey Gioiosa (Emmy Hays), Paul McGill (Jason Thompson), Rebekah Kennedy (Hanna)
Moving can be a real pain. Finding that perfect house can be an even bigger inconvenience. Well, if I ever had any sort of informal education from horror movies, I’ve learned two fundamental truths. There’s gonna be trouble if hooking up with a beautiful woman is effortlessly easy, or if you run across a seemingly sweet real estate property at a ridiculously low price. I’ll go a bit further and say that said real estate property is probably going to be a murder house inhabited by a vengeful spirit with some serious emotional baggage. I would almost bet the farm on it.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that The Wrong House is yet another “in the woods” slasher flick given the generic DVD box art (which is decidedly similar to 101 Films’ previous release The Lodge) and the films desolate cabin in the woods setting. However instead we get a thrilling haunted house flick that shares more in common with 2003′s Dead End than you’d at first think.
Originally titled House Hunting, the film see two families, led by The Beastmaster himself Marc Singer and character actor Art Lafleur, in town searching for a new home, who both show up at a deserted farmhouse. After rescuing Hanna, a lost girl whose tongue has been cut out, it quickly becomes clear that something is not right as they discover...

The American dream once again becomes the American scream when two families looking to buy a new home attend an open house only to find themselves trapped in a hellish nightmare unleashed by the wrathful spirit of the original owner.
This sounds like a job for Dar the Beastmaster… I mean Marc Singer!
Marc Singer, Janey Gioiosa, Hayley DuMond, Paul McGill, Rebekah Kennedy, Victoria Vance and Art Lafleur star in Eric Hurt’s House Hunting, the new horror movie in which it isn’t just the house that’s condemned.
If the American dream for most families is buying a house, then for the two families headed to what they think is a simple open house, their dream is about to become a nightmare. We meet our two very different families as they search for the perfect house to call a home. When both families show up at the deserted farmhouse,...

House Hunting is your typical, "let's skip the theaters, and show up straight to your house" movie. It stars Marc Singer, who is probably best known for his role in the Beastmaster, along with Janey Gioiosa, Hayley DuMond, Paul McGill, Rebekah Kennedy, Victoria Vance and Art Lafleur. The movie involves two families who are on their way to an open house pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Upon arriving at the old house, they soon discover t…...

The search for the ideal home can be one of the single most stressful things anyone has to deal with. It's a series of phone calls, background checks, bank dealings, more phone calls, and then once you're done even more background checks, bank dealings, and more phone calls. Add some spookiness to the mix and boom now you have an even worse headache.
Below you'll find the first trailer for Eric Hurt's House Hunting starring Marc Singer, Janey Gioiosa, Hayley DuMond, Paul McGill, Rebekah Kennedy, Victoria Vance and Art Lafleur.
Look for more on this one as it comes.

First on the map late last year, Eric Hurt's House Hunting is a psychological horror thriller that stars Marc Singer, Janey Gioiosa, Hayley DuMond, Paul McGill, Rebekah Kennedy, Victoria Vance and Art Lafleur. This morning we got our first look at the supernatural horror thanks to an impressive trailer, which can be viewed by reading beyond the break. The Beastmaster goes berserk in this stunning trailer for supernatural horror flick, House Hunting! The indie thriller originally caught my attention for three reasons. First, its premise of two families caught in a house that won't let them leave offered an intriguing old-school premise. Second, it's got a pretty odd ensemble cast in Marc Singer (V, Eagle Eye), Art Lafleur (Field of Dreams, The Rig, Cobra), Rebekah Kennedy (Season of the Witch, Creature) and Paul McGill (Man on Wire, Fame). and third, it's the directorial debut of Dp Eric Hurt, who most recently worked on a scifi flick we're dying to see called called Atlantis Down which is premiering at London Scifi Film Festival right away.

"House Hunting" a psychological horror thriller written/directed by Eric Hurt. The indie feature is a contemporary exploration of the notion that “hell is other people” and is inspired, in part, on existential philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre’s 1944 play No Exit. House Hunting is a blend of traditional ghost story and psychological thriller. An ensemble piece, it represents two families as they descend into madness while trapped inside a deserted farmhouse.
House Hunting stars Marc Singer (Beastmaster, TV series V), Art Lafleur (Field of Dreams , The Sandlot), Hayley DuMond (Hunter’s Moon), Paul McGill (Fame, Man on Wire), Jamee Vance, Janey Gioiosa and Rebekah Kennedy.
The production team includes writer/director Eric Hurt, executive producer Amy Carney, producers Pat Cassidy & Erica Arvold, Bryan Bieber, Deanna Gould, directors of photography Todd Free & Eric Hurt, production designer Tim Beyerle, and casting director Erica Arvold.

The players: Director: Kevin Tancharoen, Writer: Allison Burnett, Cast: Kherington Payne, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Paul McGill, Asher Book, Kristy Flores
Facts of interest: Remake of the 1980 "Fame."
The plot: A bunch of youngsters try to survive four years at the prestigious New York City High School of Performing Arts.
Our thoughts: Sure, I’ll remember the name of this disappointing remake, but that’s about it already. I can’t say I’m surprised Kevin Tancharoen’s new version of the 1980 musical lacks energy and heart, and as forgettable as this film is, I also admit I didn’t find this big-screen experience to be as boring as I expected.

We've been eagerly anticipating news about the announced remake of the gay-inclusive let's-put-on-legwarmers-and-a-show classic Fame, which tells the story of aspiring jazz-handers in a New York City high school for the performing arts.
With the phenomenal success of the High School Musical movies, a reboot of Fame (which also had a run as a television show following the success of the 1980 feature) is a no-brainer. But given the Disney franchise's reluctance to acknowledge the fact that the gay kids love themselves some musical theater, we were nervous that the Fame remake would follow a similar path.
Thankfully, much like the original film (which featured gay teen Montgomery, played by Paul McCrane) the remake will feature a gay character in the central cast.

The 1980 Alan Parker drama/musical Fame catapulted all of its young actors into the stratosphere of superstardom. Irene Cara, Gene Anthony Ray, Laura Dean, Maureen Teefy, Lee Curreri, Antonia Franceschi, Barry Miller, and Paul McCrane all became huge stars for years. Or maybe they didn't, it's so hard to remember. I think a couple of them ended up on the television series based on the movie and one guy was on E.R., maybe. That's not going to discourage the stars of the upcoming remake of Fame, though. You many have not heard of these guys, yet, but there names will be as common as Lee Curreri and Maureen Teefy soon. Hr says MGM has lined up the lead cast for director/choreographer Kevin Tancharoen's remake. Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle will portray...

The cast is quickly growing for MGM’s remake of Alan Parker’s 1980 musical “Fame,” and here are the latest additions, according to the Hollywood Reporter:
Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.
Don’t worry if you’ve never heard any of these names. Also on board is Thomas Dekker of television’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” Debbie Allen, who starred in the original, is rumored to take on a cameo.
Just like the first film, the remake will focus on young performers trying either to get in or survive the school year at the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts in New York.
Kevin Tancharoen is directing the film, which was written by Allison Burnett and Aline Brosh McKenna. The trade says the project will start shooting later this year on a budget of $25 million.

Man on Wire
Featuring Philippe Petit, Paul McGill, and Annie Allix
Directed by James Marsh
Rated PG-13
1974 had already been marked by Hank Aaron's record-breaking swing, terrorist bombings in Northern Ireland, a coup d'etat in Cyprus, Vietnam, and the Watergate scandal. Within two weeks after Philippe Petit, the world would see Nixon's resignation, the botched assassination attempt of the South Korean President that killed his first lady, Evel Knievel's doomed Snake Canyon jump, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the Rumble in the Jungle.
But for 45 minutes on August 7th, Philippe Petit stopped the world for one morning and forced everyone in it to look up. Perched about a quarter-mile in the air, Petit delicately walked a high wire between the two towers of the World Trade Center.
He did it because it's what he did. Petit had previously scaled much smaller local landmarks throughout Europe and even in Australia,...
