Welcome to the third and concluding portion of the long interview I did with Dan Harmon a couple of weeks ago in Los Angeles. In part 1, Harmon discussed the initial process of his return to “Community” and the beginning and end of his feud with Chevy Chase. In part 2, he talked about some of the specific goals of “Community” season 5 and the non-impossibility of a season 6 (and a movie). In part 3, our focus mostly shifts away from “Community” to deal with Harmon’s other show of the moment, the Adult Swim animated sci-fi comedy “Rick and Morty,” a kind of dark, twisted spin on the Doc Brown/Marty McFly relationship from “Back to the Future,” only where Rick is an alcoholic sociopath and Morty is the learning disabled grandson he takes horrific advantage of. Kevin Costner has reportedly dropped out of starring in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Western Django Unchained. The Dances with Wolves star was originally linked to the film back in July, but "scheduling conflicts" have caused him to leave the project. "And in another interesting piece of casting news, Kevin Costner has had to pass on Django Unchained due to scheduling conflicts," Variety reporter Justin Kroll tweeted earlier this week. With Samuel L. Jackson and Gerald McRaney joining the cast of Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti western Django Unchained, the assembly of talent for the late 2012 release seemed too good to be true. Apparently the universe agreed as a Twitter update from Variety reporter Justin Kroll announced today that, "Kevin Costner has had to pass on Django Unchained due to scheduling conflicts." The actor was to have played Ace Woody, the right-hand man of ruthless plantation/slave-owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Sad news for those who were anxious to see Dances with Wolves saddled up again. Fortunately this isn't the only big role as part of a high profile comeback for Costner who will also be playing Clark Kent's father in Zack Snyder's superhero franchise reboot Man of Steel. While it might be that very film causing the scheduling conflicts, more likely the cause is Costner's work on a History Channel...
