Since Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to step back from being working royals and move to California, things have not been the same.
With his wish to step back out of the limelight also came stark changes in what would be provided to him and his family.
The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided not to offer Harry and his family the round-the-clock police protection provided to working royals.
There was a distinct decision to downgrade the level of personal security he receives when visiting the U.K., as reported by Time.
Citing safety concerns and the belief that the taxpayers in the United Kingdom should pay for his security, Prince Harry sued to reinstate it.
In a written statement, Sir Peter Lane ruled on Prince Harry’s challenge to the Home Office’s security ruling.

A bit of new information about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been released amid the UK court ruling that came in today.
On Wednesday (February 28), High Court judge Peter Lane upheld the decision by the U.K. government and the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) to downgrade his security. The Duke of Sussex argued that he and his family should have automatic police protection while in the United Kingdom when they visit from their home in California, following the decision to strip away the right in February 2020 when he and Meghan Markle stepped back from official royal duties.

Prince Harry has lost a legal battle.
The Duke of Sussex argued that he and his family should have automatic police protection while in the United Kingdom when they visit from their home in California, following the decision to strip away the right in February 2020 when he and Meghan Markle stepped back from official royal duties.
In a statement, Harry said he “felt forced” to step back from his royal role and leave the U.K. in 2020, citing security concerns for his family.

A U.K. court has ruled that Prince Harry was not unfairly stripped of his public-funded security detail when the former royal moved to the U.S.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, had their official security detail removed after stepping away from their royal duties and moving to California in 2020, with the Duke of Sussex ultimately challenging that ruling in court.
On Wednesday, High Court Judge Peter Lane ruled that Buckingham Palace’s stripping of that royal treatment — called the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, or Ravec for short — was not “unlawful,...

Prince Harry has lost his latest court challenge, a battle against the UK government over his level of security when in Britain.
Since moving to LA with wife Meghan Markle and removing some of his royal duties, Harry has been trying to overturn the rule that saw his security status downgraded, and his lawyers argued there was unfairness in how the decision was made, according to the BBC.
In the past few minutes, however, he has lost his high court challenge, the latest for the Prince.
Home Office lawyers had previously told the High Court that the Duke of Sussex would still have publicly-funded police security but these would be “bespoke arrangements, specifically tailored to him.” He has long argued that he should be given full protection.
The BBC said much of the legal proceedings were held in private in December and the ruling was issued by retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane.
