If there is one takeaway here, it’s that Mandy Patinkin is not Saul Berenson.
The actor swung by Good Day NY on Wednesday to discuss the Homeland finale airing on Sunday, but then something even more exciting than terrorists working with the CIA happened: anchor Dave Price had to slip away mid-interview because his wife was having a baby…and that was simply the greatest, most overwhelming news Patinkin had ever heard.
Just a sampling of his exclamations: “Oh my God, how thrilling!” “Oh my God, that’s the most exciting thing I’ve ever had happen!” “To hell with me,...

Richard Belzer doesn't mince words—or gestures—when it comes to his feelings about Fox News. Popping up on New York City's local Fox affiliate's Good Day New York to plug his new book, the Law and Order: Svu star definitely gave the morning gabbers something to talk about after he not only made an unfunny sodomy quip, but bid their corporate siblings at Fox News goodbye with a Nazi salute. We guess someone forgot to tell him Hitler jokes are verboten? As the segment came to a close, the 68-year-old actor-comic was asked by Good Day cohost Rosanna Scotto whether her on-air partner Dave Price might resemble him enough to play his brother on Law & Order. To which...

Continuing his bid to be the nexus of the TV universe, comedian and Law And Order: Svu star Richard Belzer appeared on Fox's Good Day New York today, where he attempted to close the gap between inane morning news show banter, his own series' blunt explorations of sex crime, and simplistic, Godwin's Law-evoking cable punditry. Belzer's otherwise-ordinary (but possibly addled) segment took its turn after Belzer was asked whether anchor Dave Price—who bears a very slight resemblance to Belzer—might be able to play his brother on the show. "If he gets molested and banged in ...

Picture how Law and Order: Svu detective John Munch would handle an early-morning chatfest, and you’ve got a pretty good idea how Richard Belzer’s local Fox New York interview went this morning.
Promoting the 14th season of Law and Order: Svu, Belzer couldn’t finish the interview without making a few controversial comments. When the anchor was reading an emailed-in question asking if other anchor Dave Price would appear on Svu, Belzer replied, “If he gets molested and banged in the a**, maybe.” Belzer quickly apologized and jokingly explained, “I meant banged against a piece of furniture.

“Dancing with the Stars” pro Maks Chmerkovskiy went on “Good Day New York” Friday to talk about being paired up with actress Kirstie Alley again for "Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars." But the interview devolved into an awkward flirt-fest when the anchors couldn't stop fawning over him.
Co-host Dave Price started the interview off an a weird foot when he asked Chmerkoviskiy a question that embarrassed weather woman Audrey Puente. “Have you ever made love to a weather woman before?” he asked, as Puente hung her head and answered, "No, that was not on my list [of questions]." Before that moment, anchor Rosanna Scott couldn’t stop touching Maks' face and hair.
The interview was made even more awkward in light of recent allegations made by U.S. Women's Soccer goalie and former "DWTS" contestant Hope Solo that Chmerkovskiy slapped her several times during their training sessions.

Not very encouraging news for CBS’ rebranded morning show: In its first week, CBS This Morning, hosted by Gayle King, CHarlie Rose and Erica Hill, averaged 2.7 million viewers, 1.1 million of them in the adults 25-54 demographic. It finished well behind NBC’s Today (5.5 million, 2.4 million) and ABC’s Good Morning America (4.9 million, 2.0 million). What’s more, CBS This Morning was down 10% in total viewers and 13% in 25-54 from the same week last year, which marked the second week of the revamped CBS Early Show with Hill, Chris Wragge and Dave Price as hosts. This was the steepest decline among all broadcast morning programs despite This Morning featuring high-profile guests including Michelle Obama. (In several big markets — including Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa and Orlando – This Morning was even beaten by Fox News’ Fox & Friends in total viewers.) Today was down 6% in total viewers and 10% in 25-54, while Gma was actually up, 3% in...

CBS News veteran Harry Smith is leaving the network to join NBC, six months after CBS replaced his "Early Show" team. NBC said a formal announcement of Smith's hiring will come Monday. TV Guide reported that Smith, who joined CBS in 1986, will join a new primetime newsmagazine show with Brian Williams. CBS announced in November that it would replace Smith, Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price in the morning show, which lags behind "Today" and "Good Morning America." The new team of Erica Hill, Chris Wragge and Maggie Castro took over at...

In their first week, the new "Early Show" team earned eight percent fewer viewers than the veteran team they replaced did in the same week last year, final Nielsen numbers show. But they didn't suffer a mass exodus. The new team, led by Chris Wragge and Erica Hill, scored 2.82 million viewers in their debut week, which began Jan. 3. The old team, led by Smith and Maggie Rodriguez, scored 3.08 million viewers in the equivaent week last year, Jan. 4-8. Also read: Dave Price Exits 'Early Show' Early The numbers don't indicate,...

While we've been fans of weatherman Dave Price for years, we can't help but suspect his goofy antics contributed to his recent ouster from 'The Early Show.' Sure, the network says he, Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez were fired as part of a retooling to boost ratings. But we're not so sure. Review the evidence as Price licks, flubs and fumbles his way out of a job in The Best Examples of Why Dave Price is No Longer Employed. And yet, despite all this, we'd welcome Price back in a second. We salute any weatherman who can consistently make us this uncomfortable.

Getting fired from a job is never easy, but what's worse is getting fired and gaining national attention for it. Just ask CBS 'Early Show' weatherman Dave Price.
Earlier this week, Price, along with Maggie Rodriguez and Harry Smith, were let go from the CBS morning talk show and will be replaced with their weekend counterparts.
"Any time you get news like this it's jarring. It's part of the business. It's a cruel business," Price told the Hollywood Reporter. "But we love it anyway. And so its throws you back a bit, maybe even more than a bit."
The network said it will offer Price another position with CBS News, but Price is hesitant. "I'm going to see if any of [those proposals] are right for me," he said. "If they're not, I'll make a graceful exit."

The CBS morning news timeslot reminds me of a highway-side retail location that changes tenants every few years. First it's a clothing store, then a sushi restaurant, then a gym, then a pizzeria. All the plans are ambitious, but nothing ever sticks.
So the news that the Eye network is shaking up their 'Early Show' crew, jettisoning Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price and installing the team of Chris Wragge, Erica Hill, Jeff Glor and Marysol Castro (the new team is pictured to the right), isn't a huge surprise. In fact, the comments by executive producer David Friedman in the wake of the shake-up make perfect sense: the team that was in place didn't have the same chemistry as the team that they're inserting, especially Wragge and Hill, who have been paired on the Saturday 'Early Show' for a couple of years.

"Early Show" anchors Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez are out of the low-rated morning show and will be replaced effective Jan. 3 by the Saturday "Early" team of Erica Hill and Chris Wragge, the network announced Tuesday. Morning news has long been a rare weak spot in CBS' lineup, and the overhaul is the show's most dramatic attempt to claim more of the morning audience from ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's leading "Today," which draws nearly twice the "Early"audience. Smith joined the show in 2002, as did weather anchor Dave Price,...

CBS' repeatedly revamped and ratings-challenged Early Show will be clearing the decks yet again. The AP's David Bauder reports anchors Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez, along with weatherman Dave Price, are all on the chopping block. Weekend Early Show regulars Erica Hill and Chris Wragge are slated to become the new main duo. Marysol Castro will reportedly step into Price's role.

The forecast for Dave Price's personal life just got brighter: the CBS Early Show weatherman married over the weekend. Price, 43, and fiancée Jacqueline Klinger, 36, tied the knot at their home in Weston, Conn., Saturday, while guests like Katie Couric and Erica Hill looked on. "It's really great to be able to come home to someone special now," Price tells People. "It just puts everything in perspective and balances everything out. I'll be forever grateful that I met Jax." And what about the bride? Quiz: Guess the Superstar Bride!"What I love most about him is his sense of family,...
