For 25 years the magazine has chronicled the births, marriages and lovely homes of the stars – and it has changed the media's agenda
So many contracts have been signed and so many celebrity parties photographed since the first edition of Hello! went on sale in Britain 25 years ago, it is hard to pick out the most celebrated. Would it perhaps be the wedding of Paul and Sheryl Gascoigne in 1996, or perhaps one of Elton John's regular white tie and tiara affairs? Only a few of the big ones, such as Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie at Skibo castle in 2000, have eluded its pages. On Wednesday, however, the magazine's joint editors, Rosie Nixon and Ruth Sullivan, will be throwing a party of their own in London "to say thank you to those who have contributed to the magazine over the years".

Paul Gascoigne has revealed that he is interested in appearing in I'm a Celebrity... Ge Me Out of Here!
The former footballer - who recently completed a rehab stint in the Us for addiction to alcohol - said he was offered a spot on the ITV show a few years ago.
"They asked a while back, but I wasn't right and said no," Gascoigne told The Sun.
"When sober, I'm up for anything, but when drinking, I don't want to do anything. I won't say what they offered, as other celebrities would complain they weren't given as much. But it was a lot.
"I've no problem eating insects, and now I'd be there like a shot."
Gascoigne also revealed that he has discussed a survival TV show with friend and fellow footballer Vinnie Jones.

From the 'toothlessness' of the Pcc to Hugh Grant's middle name, we round up what 10 days of testimony has taught us
Over the past 10 days, a succession of famous faces, and some who are less well-known, have appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice to tell the Leveson inquiry into press standards about the worst excesses of the "gutter press". Lord Justice Leveson has listened intently from his lofty perch in courtroom 73 as his team has cross-examined those who feel they have suffered at the hands of the British media – an industry Tony Blair famously described as a "feral beast". As if that wasn't bad enough, two former journalists have lifted the lid on what it's really like to work for the tabloids. So what have we learned so far?

Evidence given to the Leveson inquiry last week appalled many veteran journalists. Among them was John Dale - a former national newspaper reporter and magazine editor - who wrote on the gentlemenranters site of "journalistic corruption and debasement" that "shamed Fleet Street."
Another hardened old hand, Jim Cassidy, was disgusted too. As the editor of two red-tops - the Glasgow-based Sunday Mail and, briefly, the Sunday Mirror - he knows the business from the inside.
I am pleased to act as host to his passionate response to the revelations of the first week's hearings...

Despite the celebrities, it was the testimony of ordinary people that proved most compelling and disturbing
Hugh Grant, as someone noted rather astutely this week, hasn't been in anything this good for ages. Lord Justice Leveson's inquiry into standards in the British media may have been formally sitting since earlier this month, but it was not until this week that the plot of this procedural legal drama twisted, suddenly, into an unmissable blockbuster, played out in as much Technicolor as the crowded confines of court 73 at the royal courts of justice would allow.
It had its moments of drama and at times almost of farce, but this was, in truth, a horror story, dipping into moments of such cruel and terrifying menace that, had the script been pitched to a Hollywood executive, it would have been returned as scarcely plausible.
After he had spent months touring the TV studios, not...

While some testify at the Leveson inquiry, not all stars will be ready to give up their dysfunctional media relationships
If all the suspected celebrity victims of phone hacking were laid end to end, they'd reach from Wapping to somewhere with a more pleasant current climate. Tartarus, perhaps, or some nice nuclear exclusion zone. Yet if those celebrities who stuck their heads above the parapet to testify to Lord Justice Leveson's inquiry into press conduct this week were arranged similarly, the line would struggle to make it out of the door of the small courtroom in which Leveson is hearing evidence.
In fact, I hope the small rebel army of witnesses who braved it – along with the named others who have offered to give evidence but haven't been called so far – would not object to my observing that they are not typical "celebrities" at all. Jk Rowling is so intensely...

Sheryl Gascoigne thinks fellow ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant Gillian McKeith is “crazy”.
Gazza’s ex – who was the first star to be voted out of the jungle last night – admitted everyone knew the “eccentric” TV nutritionist’s extreme behaviour would be getting her lots of air time on the ITV1 show.

However, Gillian wasn’t the only star to be faced with a variety of gruesome jungle critters on the show, as Sheryl revealed she wasn’t let off lightly and was “gunked” with a number of creepy crawlies on her first day in the Australian outback.

‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses are to offer a lifeline to one of the six contestants facing the public vote tonight.
With Gillian McKeith, Lembit Opik, Shuan Ryder, Stacey Solomon, Sheryl Gascoigne and Dom Joly all up for elimination from the ITV1 show in tonight’s public vote, one star will be saved from potentially being the first to leave the Australian jungle.
Each contestant will be put into solitary confinement and then be forced to plunge their hand into two “hell holes” filled with gruesome jungle critters, with each hole containing five keys on various puzzles.
The following morning, a further 20 keys will be hidden in the star’s porridge, giving them the chance to escape from solitary confinement and be granted immunity from the first eviction.
Elsewhere in the camp, former ‘X Factor’ finalist Stacey and rapper Aggro Santos prepared to face the Bush Tucker Trial.

Gillian McKeith claimed to be pregnant on I’m A Celebrity this week, in a bid to escape from jungle jail.
The ‘You Are What You Eat’ star was incarcerated with Shaun Ryder and Sheryl Gascoigne after cheating on a Kangaroo Court challenge.
Protesting that she shouldn’t be there, Gillian began to scream at the cameras, insisting that they set her free. At one point she even yelled ‘Let Me out, I’m pregnant!’
Fellow contestant Lembit Opik said everyone was worried about her, adding:
“Gillian’s level of ailments have increased and she has been hearing voices. She is very weak and frail at the moment.”
An insider told The Sun:
“When Gillian went back to the jungle jail she went nuts. It was quite scary.”
An ITV source said Gillian had been “clearly joking” and made up the story.

“Kayla didn’t contribute much. She comes from another planet, Los Angeles. There’s Mars, Jupiter, and then Los Angeles.”
However, the 59-year-old star had kind words for “elegant” Sheryl Gascoigne, “wonderful” Britt Ekland, and “strong and funny” Jenny Éclair.
Nigel also tipped Stacey Soloman to win.

Britt Ekland and Linford Christie took part in ‘Disastermind’ where they had 30 seconds each to answer as many Australian themed general knowledge questions whilst encased in helmets containing spiders. Each struggled to answer the simple questions as the spiders crawled over their faces.

Entitled Terror Vision, the celebrities had been split into two teams – boys versus girls – and would have to go head to head in five rounds based on popular TV shows.
