Arcane (Netflix)-Best
For an animated epic based on an online arena role-playing game like League of Legends, Arcane was a phenomenon that came out of nowhere to delight and intrigue both hard-core players and total newbies to the lore.
Gorgeous visuals, butt-kicking action, and a club-thumping soundtrack all contributed to the show's instant popularity as it rocketed to the top of Netflix charts in over fifty countries every time it dropped one of its three acts.

The long break is over, and new episodes of Grey's Anatomy are on the horizon.
The pandemic disrupted Grey's Anatomy Season 16, and now, the upcoming season will spend time covering it.
We can also expect more crossovers, relationship drama, and so much more.
TV Fanatics Berea Orange, Kerr Lordygan, and Jasmine Blu came together ahead of the premiere for a fun, wild, and at times racy chat about all things Grey's Anatomy.
Jasmine: What do you hope to see on Grey's Anatomy this season?
Berea: I hope to see a better season, in short, and preferably fewer crossovers.
Kerr: I hate the crossovers. I dislike Station 19, so I don't care about any of them. I also don't like the episodes that take us out of the overarching plot and focus on one character.
Berea: I also can’t wait to see Owen get his karma. Aka his reaction to Teddy’s cheating.

Because Amazon’s Hunters isn’t just any show, TV Fanatic enlisted both Carissa Pavlica and Kerr Lordygan to watch and discuss.
Hopefully, this approach will offer a wider opinion on what you’re committing to watch. A team of hunters rooting out Nazis living in an America that welcomed them is heavy stuff, but it’s entertainment with a message.
Al Pacino stars as a Holocaust survivor named Meyer who takes the grandson of an old friend under his wing after the death of his grandmother. Logan Lerman is Jonah, a young man with his head in the sand regarding the horrors his grandmother suffered, who gets an eye-opening awakening in the wake of her death.
With a talented ensemble cast, the story unfolds with a lot of panache and some nausea-inducing barbarity making Hunters a unique and always entertaining watch.

February 14, 2020, will mark the world premiere of the hysterical live stage parody Law & Order: The Musical!
As a cast member and writer here at TV Fanatic, I had the unique chance to interview writer/director/performer Ilyse Mimoun and composer Jeremy Adelman.
Having never watched an episode of Law & Order myself, I can attest that this musical can be enjoyed by all -- not only Law & Order fans -- but it is extra funny for those that are familiar.
The cast includes: Ebenezer Alasi, Annie Bond, Tara Cox, Steve Fite, Godfrey Flax, Kerr Lordygan, Tifanie McQueen, Ilyse Mimoun, and Kira Powell.
Choreagraphy is by Lou Becker, Desiree Zarate is stage managing, and Courtney Rhodes is Assistant Director. See more -- and get tix -- here.
Covering social issues like unjust justice and changes of cultural norms throughout the years, Law & Order: The Musical! never forgets it's a comedy.

With the Emmys telecast around the corner on Monday night, September 17, “The Americans” has moved into the lead in our predictions for Best Drama Writing for its series finale episode, “Start,” penned by showrunners Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg. But don’t be so sure. Our top users are still predicting a repeat win for “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
As of this writing “The Americans” has a narrow advantage with odds of 13/10. That’s thanks in large part to the Expert journalists we’ve polled, who have really rallied around the FX spy drama. Currently 13 of our 24 Experts think it will win: Jen Chaney (Vulture), Eric Deggans (NPR), Joyce Eng (Gold Derby), Chris Harnick (E!), Kelly Lawler (USA Today), Kerr Lordygan (Rotten Tomatoes), Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby), Lynette Rice (Entertainment Weekly), Matt Roush (TV Guide Magazine), Kaitlin Thomas (TVGuide.com), Ben Travers (IndieWire), Matt Webb Mitovich (TVLine) and Susan Wloszczyna...

The Emmy for Best Comedy Series remains strictly a two-way race, according to the forecasts of the vast majority of thousands of Gold Derby users. But not everyone agrees on which horse will win that race. The Expert journalists we’ve polled give the slight edge to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” but most of our users — including last year’s highest-scoring users — think it will be “Atlanta,” tilting the overall momentum in favor of the FX series.
As of this writing 14 of our 26 Experts are betting on a “Maisel” victory: Debra Birnbaum (Variety), Jen Chaney (Vulture), Debbie Day (Rotten Tomatoes), Eric Deggans (NPR), Bonnie Fuller (Hollywood Life), Pete Hammond (Deadline Hollywood), Chris Harnick (E!), Kelly Lawler (USA Today), Ed Martin (Media Village), Robert Rorke (New York Post), Peter Travers (Rolling Stone), Ken Tucker (Yahoo), Matt Webb Mitovich (TVLine) and Susan Wloszczyna (Gold Derby).

Twenty-three of Gold Derby’s Emmy Experts from major media outlets have piped in with their Best Drama Actor predictions, and things are still looking good for Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”). Last year’s winner in this category is expected to repeat by the slimmest of margins over perpetual nominee Matthew Rhys (“The Americans”). As a reminder, last month when about a dozen Experts were making their predictions, eight picked Brown and four chose Rhys. Now, the race has tightened as 12 Experts are predicting Brown and 10 are picking Rhys. Who do You think will win?

Twenty-three of Gold Derby’s Emmy Experts from major media outlets have chimed in with their Best Drama Actress predictions, and Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) is the favorite to win her second consecutive Emmy. After losing six times for “Mad Men,” Moss now finds herself on a roll with the TV academy as she took home two trophies last year for acting in and producing “The Handmaid’s Tale.” While she’s the favorite with 15 Experts picking her to win, two other leading ladies have the support of 4 Experts apiece: Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) and Keri Russell (“The Americans”). Talk about a nail-biter! Who do You think will win?

Regina King has been the queen of the limited series/TV movie races the past few years. She pulled off two consecutive shockers in 2015 and 2016 with supporting wins for “American Crime” and is now gunning for her third upset in four years with “Seven Seconds.”
King’s nomination for the Netflix series was a surprise in an of itself. Our nominations odds erroneously had King in ninth place, but in hindsight, it’s all of our fault for underestimating her. She’s become such an Emmy force the last three years — she was also nominated last year for “American Crime” — that it was foolish to count her out. She also has a baity role as the mother of a boy who’s left for dead after being hit by a car driven by a white police officer, after which a cover-up ensues.

Gold Derby’s Emmy Experts from major media outlets are nearly unanimous that Laura Dern will win a bookend trophy for HBO’s telefilm “The Tale” just one year after prevailing for the limited series “Big Little Lies.” The Best Movie/Limited Series Actress frontrunner plays the role of the movie’s producer/director/writer Jennifer Fox in the true-to-life film about her childhood sexual abuse. Since Dern’s victory last year was in the supporting race, winning now in lead would be a sort of “Emmy promotion” of sorts for the veteran actress.

Peter Dinklage set an Emmy record with his seventh Best Supporting Actor nomination, but the “Game of Thrones” star can get another one in September. If he wins, he’d tie Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) with a leading three victories in the category.
Paul won his trio every other year in 2010, 2012 and 2014, out of five nominations, beating Dinklage twice. Dinklage took home his first statuette in 2011, for “Game of Thrones”‘ first season and when “Breaking Bad” was ineligible, and his second in 2015. Paul and Dinklage have combined to win five of the eight drama supporting actor Emmys since 2010.
